Update post 18- MS says resale banked points won't show up on website now?

They have been having all kinds of IT issues since they replaced their veteren IT staff with newbie 12b1 visa workers
 
I was told the same thing. We had banned points when we bought resale and they said they could see them, but we can't online.
 


Either a slow point load, a software change, miss-informed MS Advisors or another resale restriction.

LOL. Please go back and read those articles again. That article was terribly written, didn't say what department they were in (said the employees "monitored computers"), didn't say really anything. Was a really good inflammatory article, just about as "good" as the recent NYT amazon article, though. And from what DH knows of those visas, the employees are seriously good and more expensive than anyone in Orlando would be (and they've generally paid to move those people from their home countries = even MORE expensive). But as far as we know, Disney IT is mainly in Seattle. Not in Orlando. And the articles are talking about things nearly a year ago.

When did that happen? Last I saw, they backed off of that plan.

I believe that was their plans to outsource for their ABC division. The Disney IT outsourcing had occurred several months prior.

However, there was nothing to indicate from the reports that those positions had anything to do with the reservation/web positions.
 


I was told by an MB project software CM that he was replaced by a foreign worker who is working outside of the US. He has applied at other Disney divisions and is hoping to get a job still with Disney.

Any resale is manual process to be loaded in any membership, hard to believe they are having problem with loading. It must be a software glitch which prevents banked point to show on dashboard. Hope this is not going to be continue.

Direct purchases are also a manual process to load (unless something has changed recently). Of course no banked points to worry about there! I wonder if they were doing something such as developers points with a sale if those would show up?
 
I called MS today as my banked points on my newly purchased resale account weren't showing up on the website either. They were able to see it on their end and said I had to make the reservation by phone if I wanted to use the banked points. She never mentioned that it was a glitch. She said that those banked points were transfer points and that is why I was unable to view them online. What a bummer :(

See, that's what is interesting. I was also told that the points were transfer points and that was why I wasn't able to see them. I'm not sure if there is a glitch happening that is making it so they have to load banked points as if they were transfer until they sort it, but it seems really odd.
 
I recently purchased resale and had 200 banked points from 2014 in the contract. When my account finally became active on the website about a week or so ago all my points were loaded and visible. I was able to book a reservation online using the banked points first. No issues at all from what I could see.
 
I had a new resale and banked points and I could see everything in total points available. Happy not to have issues!
 
So my points are finally active from my new resale and same issue here. My 2015 and 2016 points are showing up fine. 2014 banked were not. I called and they could see them fine. Booked a reservation but have some left.

They said they know the issue and are working on it and points banked points could show up at anytime. But for now you need to call for new resale banked points
 
I closed on 8/19 on VGF. My 2014 banked points were not showing up on the site, but when I called MS they were there. CM said they were transfer points and would not show up, but still available to use.

On another thread it was reported that resale points that weren't loaded correctly were finally done and the owner was now able to see them online. If it is a glitch there seems to be some way to correct.
 
IMO you can't trust DVC to do anything right. We need to keep track of our accounting, contracts, dues, point usage and reservations ourselves. This isn't new, DVC has had issues on and off over the years and getting them to understand the issue and getting them to fix it can be very frustrating.

When they took points away from our account by mistake, I got upset. When they added a stranger to our account as an associate, I got upset. When the gave us extra points by mistake, I really didn't get upset and when they said that they didn't give us extra points and I used them on a reservation, I was happy.

Well, this definitely hasn't been fixed. I have a new contract that was added a few days ago that included banked points and lo and behold, not available to book online, coded as transfer points again, have to call in to use them. They can't fix this in the space of over a month?
