First ever RunDisney event announced

Thank you!!
No prices for registration yet?
Any estimates?

Thank you so much for the screen caps jeanigor :)

How do you all manage such early starts? Do you manage to get a full night's sleep? What do you do about food? When I'm on holiday, I often go for a run at 7 am, but not on as far as a half-marathon, so I just eat an energy bar, then have breakfast afterwards.

At 5.30 am here in September it won't be light outside, that is why they won't be starting until 7.00

I ran Princess in WDW in February on 2.5 hours of sleep (the majority of others I spoke to got around 5-6 hours). My first half marathon. I ate a carb loaded dinner around 5 and ended up in bed around midnight. Woke up, had a bagel with peanut butter and was on the bus to the race at 3. Had an energy bar in the corral as well as my pre-workout drink. I ate a full lunch around 1:30.

It is dark for the start of the other runDisney races as well. I watched the sunrise during Princess.

For races at Walt Disney World, I usually wake up around 0300 in order to freshen up, have a light bite to eat, and get to the staging area for the 5:30 start time. The morning half marathons run through the Magic Kingdom and I usually get there around sunrise. In Disneyland, the course is much closer and doesn't involve as much hassle to get to the staging area, so I sleep in a bit more.

If it is handled similarly to the way the packages are handled stateside with Travel Providers, you will need to book through one of a few specific authorized travel providers (they will be listed on the runDisneylandParis page and I'm sure we will share for our friends who can't access the page). The travel provider usually requires a stay of a certain number of days through them for registration. I have used a travel provider twice to guarantee my runDisney race registration and found it was the same rate as if I were to book it myself. So, no discount, but no mark up either. I am not sure if this will be the same with DLP, as I have extremely limited knowledge about the park's accommodations and travel provider practices in France.

If it's going out of the park they will need for it to be daylight as not all areas have streetlights around here so people wouldn't be seeing were they are going ;)

I'm definitely in for this, provided registration doesn't sell out super quickly and I miss it somehow! Anyway, yes the races over here usually start at 5:30 so 7:00 will be quite nice! I get up at 3 in WDW to get ready and head over. I usually manage to fall asleep around 9 so I get 6 hours of sleep. The excitement will keep you awake once you get to the race start! I have an energy bar before the race and then eat breakfast afterward. And then I take a good long nap!

I kind of feel like we HAVE to register with the travel package in order to get registered. Does anyone else feel that way?

That was my feelings as well. I hope its not the case, as there are a group of us going and would like a bit more flexibility in our choices with lodging and whatnot.

I agree, I hope not as well since I won't have the funds until later to register. Though, I suppose it depends on how they accept payments?

It says on the site that if you don't book a travel package (available from Oct) you can register from January.

I received an email last night from one of the travel providers, which I have used before, with some limited information. No prices or hard details, of course; but, it did list their payment dates and cancellation policies.

This is the link: http://www.gettravel.com/dlhmparis/learnmore.shtml?cid=1015CC
Highlights include:
50% of the package cost is due upon booking. The balance is due by 15 Dec.
All packages are minimum 3 nights.

it's a bit frustrating not knowing what's happening! I hope the packages are within our budget.
