Twister...Ride It Out...in a hall of fame (& in general)...

One plus it has going for it, is that it's unlike any other attraction - it's just a shame the final show scene doesn't quite live up to the pre-show build up.
It's a nice attraction when it all works, but definitely not a Hall-of-Famer!

Couldn't have said it better myself!

Hell no. I just experienced this a week ago and it was a total letdown. The queue and lead up movies are OK (aside from the fact that Bill Paxton is a total TOOL and they clearly couldn't get him and Helen Hunt in the same town again to do the video segments) but the show itself is just not good. I think that hurricane thing in Innoventions is (or was) WAY better.

To me a hall-of-famer can't be a was-great or once-was-cool type ride or show. It has to be timeless. Twister just doesn't fit that bill. The preshow is a total snooze...and yes the show experience is cool the first few times...but then it becomes a total walk-by...partly because of that long, boring pre-show you have to "survive"...the show experience just isn't worth it.

I voted no. Funny story from when I saw it somewhere aound 8 yrs ago. I had no idea what to expect but my DH and I were at US on a day in May that was DEAD so we were able to do pretty much everything in both parks. So we lined up for twister and saw what I thought were the pre-shows, and was shocked when I realize I had actually seen The entire attraction! I thought there was still a ride or something more yet to come, and then realized we were outside and it was over. Then I wished I had realized, and I would have paid more attention to the actual experience! I always figured I would see it again some day, but I guess I never will now!

I Feel it should. Twister even though not being the most technologically advanced attraction now, keeps a nostalgic feel throughout its entire run so far. Every time I go to Universal, I ride the attraction multiple times. It still keeps an exciting feel throughout the entire ride for me. Twister goes down as my favorite attraction at Universal to this day. It's a classic attraction so therefore, I feel Twister...Ride it Out should enter the Hall Of Fame.

Okay. We have a problem. It's a tie. But the plus is that we had the most votes so far for this attraction so thank you to everyone who participated! We'll have to make a grand decision.

Outrageous! I thought this would be a pretty nasty thrashing of "no's" to "yes's"

Hate I missed the vote but if you're over 6 foot tall you don't want to be on the back row for the show. The water cannons for the rain effect are apparently about 6'1" from the floor so when the rain effect was supposed to splash the crowd I was just hit in the back of the head with the water blast.

Maybe that's what happened to @Ryno? I know the other men on the podcast team are all quite tall, not sure where Ryno fits in with that?

I don't understand how this can be a tie! All the posts on the page were supporting not putting Twister on the hall of fame.

I'd like to hear the opinions of those who thing it should be included.

I agree. I think I need to hear some support for those who voted for it before I side with the No's. Although, there may also be room for an honorable mention section.

ok to do once ...I still wish Universal would do a Haunted Mansion style dark ride, using all the classic Universal Monsters ...boat ride or Omni mover...nice air conditioned reprieve in the hot summer months

This should not be in the hof. It was ok but I won't be sorry to see it go

My take as well, and this is coming from a big fan of Universal.

Twister had a difficult start to begin with, as in 1997 when it was about to open, several major tornadoes actually hit the Orlando area causing lots of damage and some fatalities.

Due to that, Universal decided to delay the opening for several weeks. Since then, every time I see the preshows, I think its all a bit too real in a negative way, and not a "what if" thing the way Earthquake was.
