I went ultra minimal last trip. Magic band only no wallet, no ID either but I didnt feel I needed it.

You got lucky. If you bought a drink you could have been carded. If there was a glitch with the ticket you would have needed ID. No ID no drink even if you're 99 if they want to keep their license. If you fell off the curb and hit your head and ended up in the ER it would have been good to have ID. Insurance card is good too. They can say that they'll treat you all they want but the reality for many is that the good care doesn't start until they know the hospital will be paid.

If there was a charging glitch with the MB you would have needed another form of payment.

I'm carrying everything I carried before AND I have the MB.

I transfer just the 1 or 2 credit cards I need, my i.d./driver's licence, travel health insurance card and some cash into a small inexpensive fabric wallet or one of these capsul plastic wallets:

You can get them on amazon, etc for $10 or less. It isn't waterproof, so I would recommend bringing a small plastic ziplock bag for it if going on water rides.

I also bring a small snack sz baggie to keep my change in as well as some smaller bills for tips. Its great not to have to dig through my cross body bag for change.

I use one of these at WDW (see picture). I have several that I bought in various resorts at WDW. It is waterproof and they come in two sizes. Both will hold a few credit cards, DL and cash. The bigger one will hold a lot more, but it feels too bulky in my pocket.

I run the string through a belt loop, then drop the container through the loop in the string and into my pocket. Easy, peasy and never have to worry about losing it.

I use an Otterbox Commuter Wallet when I need to go minimal. They make it for a few different phones.

I bought one of these for my Disney trip this year:

It worked great; fit right on my belt with room for my HTC Evo 3 phone, and the back slot fit my ticket, room key, ID, and credit card. Water rides - I pulled the edge of my shirt over it for added protection and nothing got wet. Rollercoasters - the velcro stayed securely fastened even while going upside down. I noticed that I was opening it constantly to get at my phone and that meant I was pretty hard on the velcro, so I tucked the top flap into the pouch behind my phone and had no problems. Of course I had to remember to re-adjust the flap when riding crazier rides but it was so much easier than carrying a purse around all day. And being female my clothes didn't have pockets to speak of, of course.

I honestly like having my bigger sized wallet on me. If you get too thin or too light, you could very easily lose it and/or send yourself into panic mode. Cargo shorts do offer deep pockets, but if you have a sleek, thin wallet, it's easier to remove. Sure, you don't want to have the unnecessary stuff with you, but if you can cut 4 down to 2, and always have it where your hand is swinging, you'll have that "security" of knowing it's there.

Otherwise, if I'm wearing athletic shorts in the park (I try to find ones with pockets) and they don't have pockets, I'll give my stuff to my DGF who wears her crossbody bag which she wears on the side that I walk on so no one can get in from the outside.
