Thanks to everyone here on this thread, and Tikiman of course, for the awesome info. Finally booked Sept 5-13 at the poly via a nice agency exclusive deal that made the price work well. Can anyone help me decide on what longhouse requests to make? Our preference is first floor to allow DD4 and DS2 ability to play on patio and our yard without balcony concerns. Originally thought Samoa but not sure given east pool construction. Somewhere in this thread or at Tikiman's site there were photos of patio room views and privacy comparisons but can't seem to find that now.

We watched the fireworks from inside MK as we had reservations for the Wishes Dessert Party. Oh my word, we thought they were awesome! At the end people started chanting USA and it gave me goosebumps. Anyway, we want to watch them again tomorrow night from the Poly beach. Can anyone who may have watched them tonight from the Poly report on how crowded the beach was? Or where would be a good spot to watch them? We seriously can not wait to see them again. I know the experience will be different from inside the park but they were great!

Ok, went back to through this thread for a long time and found pictures of patios from Niue. Looks like that or Samoa would be good for DD4 and DS2, except with the construction issue we could have a problem if on the east side. Would you all take that risk and request Samoa and/or Niue patio levels?

I was having the same dilemma. Decided to request ground floor away from construction. We've always stayed Rarotonga ground floor and love the chance for kids to run around while we relax.

Well the pool is crowded but we've been able to get a table all 3 days we've been here, surprisingly. The whole pool area is just gorgeous. And the grounds near the bungalows.....everything is so beautiful!

We found that a yesterday we could find a chair easier than today - but we finally found a comfy spot!

I just counted 6 umbrella tables. There does seem to be lots more chairs. I agree they could use more umbrellas. They especially need to bring the cabanas back!!
I did see some umbrellas with lounge chairs over by the kids play area - we had really hoped to use a cabana today for the 4th of July but obviously that wasn't in the cards!

SAFE AND HAPPY "4TH" to all!:thumbsup2 For those at the Poly, ENJOY the fireworks show! :dance3::woohoo:

They were amazing last night - hope they aren't delayed as much tonight!

Sitting here on my patio here at Poly waiting for the drama to start as tons of people are standing along the walkway all holding umbrellas.....making it impossible for us (and all 1st floor CL LV) guests to see the water parade when it begins. Actually, I'm so happy to have the safety of our room because it's still lightning a lot!! My iPad doesn't have a flash for night photos or I'd snap a picture of all these people in front of us.

Here is a photo of the storm a couple hours ago from my patio

We must be your neighbors! We had the same view and were saying the same thing about the umbrellas last night! At least it seems to be clearing up now and hopefully the fireworks will go off on time tonight! Last night we hung out on the patio - our DD4 fell asleep on our laps and slept through them - we somehow managed keep ourself awake on the patio until they finally started. They were WORTH the wait!!! Beach is starting to fill up again!

We checked in to Poly CL on Tuesday and were upgraded to a LV room on the first floor - right off of the entrance! We couldn't be happier - I was literally dancing in the room when I walked it!!! And singing... We have a castle view when standing (it is to the left of the first bungalow's roof) - LOVE IT HERE!!!

How funny to be neighbors! Yes indeed excellent show - can't wait to see it again tonight! I love this patio but ours is so full of duck droppings!

What an awesome upgrade! Doesn't having this view change the whole trip? We can't wait to sit out on the patio each night and simply take it all in.

Today at the pool did you see that nice older woman who was giving out wristbands? Good idea but only problem is she didn't have one of those iPads to scan MBs. So she was just asking people if they are staying here. I did hear one family say they were staying at FW and another family say GF, so those families were turned away.

Quick question. When I look online to check on prices for villas at poly for next May-June, it says nothing is available. Is there really nothing available or have they not been released to the public yet?

Wow, that's fantastic!! Have an amazing trip and take lots of pictures to share :)

Does anyone know how much a case of water is at the Poly? And if I order it from the gift shop do they deliver it to your room like Garden Grocer?

That's awesome! a little sprinkling of pixie dust to start your trip off!!:tinker:

Congrats on the awesome upgrade!

Does anyone have experience with King standard rooms? From what I have read (tikimanpages.com) that Samoa is one of the best longhouses for these type of rooms. If someone could let me know a good backup or better longhouse that would be great.

Thanks

Hi everyone!!

Thinking of the poly for
Our August 2016 trip, we will be there 14 nights, prob in a standard room.

What are the chances of getting a room with a balcony? We have 2 young boys and like to sit out after they have gone to sleep but I know not all rooms have balconies? Thanks!!

What size are the safes? Are the old small in wall? Or have they been replaces with the larger, in closet model where you set your own pin code? Our CR room last year had this kind and it was so nice not to worry about that key. Would a 17" laptop fit?
TIA!
