Official 'how to get from point A to point B while at WDW' thread.

How's the easiest way to get from Pop Century to Olivia's Café at Old Key West. How long should I allow for the trip? TIA!
I guess it depends on time of day, and how fast you want to get there. When I was at BW last year, I took the bus to DTD, and planned on taking the boat to OKW...but the boats weren't running, so had to wait for a bus...which took forever. Got there just in time for my ADR. So, if speed and ease is most important, I would take a cab. Otherwise, take a bus to DTD, then boat to OKW...nice, relaxing way to go...if you have the time.

Can anyone verify the reported issues with buses picking up at the YC and BC going to Magic Kingdom? I'm hearing (and reading) that BC guests are stuck waiting for long periods of time because the buses are filling up at YC. Makes me want to think about walking over to the YC bus stop instead.
There are no issues with these buses. Of course BC people are 'stuck waiting'...YC is the first stop. But long times? Nope, not because the bus is at YC. And they don't get filled up either. You can walk to YC if you want, but you certainly don't have to. The time you spend walking there is more time than you'll wait for a bus...more than likely! I've stayed at BC...the buses there are no worse, no better than at other resorts.

I am probably overthinking this but from what I understand, getting to the resorts from POP by bus will take at the most 20 minutes and buses run every 15-20 min. So am I correct if we want to be at the resorts by 8:15am we should be planning to be on the bus departing at 7:45am?

If you're on the bus at Pop by 7:45, you should be at a park (not another resort) by 8:15. But you should be at the bus stop by 7:15, because sometimes there's more than a 20 minute gap between buses, and sometimes there won't be room for your group on the 1st bus that arrives after you arrive at the stop.

If you really did mean to say "at the resort," when traveling from one resort to another, there's usually a transfer required, so you should be at the bus stop 90 minutes before your required arrival at the other resort.

Yes you are absolutely correct.. I did mean park! Thank you so much! Really appreciate it.

We are staying at the Contemporary in 3 weeks. We have only one day in Epcot, and our plan was to take the monorail from our hotel to be there for the 9am rope drop. We just found out about the monorail refurbishment...fabulous! We pay extra to stay at a monorail resort only to have this issue.

Anyway, can anyone tell me what time we need to leave CR to get to TTC and transfer to Epcot monorail to get there for 9am?

Or are we better off driving?

What is best route for dinner ressies at Wilderness Lodge from AKL? What would be the time allowance for this? Please and thank you.

I would check when you get there....ask a monorail CM though! If the monorail isn't operational when you need it, there should be buses running.
If all else fails, just drive.

A couple of options.....head to AK, and transfer to the WL bus there. Or, bus to MK, from AKL, and then boat to WL. I prefer the second option. I really enjoy taking the boat. And I always try to leave close to 90 mins when traveling between resorts.

Best plan for CS to Boardwalk & back? and CS to TL & back?
Well, it depends on how much time you have. If time is no issue, then bus from CSR to DHS, and then either boat or walk to BW. If time is an issue, take a cab.
CSR to TL...the bus.

Great thread, all my questions have been answered except:
AoA to AKL for a 6:45 pm dinner ADR...
Route and how much time will we need make the trip?

I've read through many of the 192 pages and am very lost... We have an early am ADR at Cape May from CBR. Another poster recommended taking the EPCOT bus and then cutting through to the International Gateway. However we don't want to use a park ticket or go through the turn styles. Is there a bus from EPCOT to YC? Or is there a safe path from CBR to YC/BC? (Looking at maps, it looks like a major thoroughfare to cross between CBR and YC.) We could also probably use Uber. What say you? Thank you!

1. You can't go through Epcot before it opens.
2. Then definitely don't try to go through Epcot.
3. No.
4. No.
5. If you want to.
6. I would take the bus to DHS and walk to Cape May.

For a 6:45 adr, I would to EPCOT or DHS and then transfer to the AKL bus. Figure on it taking at least an hour. I would leave AoA by 5:30....maybe a bit earlier. I love to poke around this resort, so if you get there early, you can check things out.
You can really take the first park bus that comes, and then transfer. But, MK is further away, and AK is okay as long as the park isn't closing.

Two good options. Take a bus to DHS. Then you can walk to YC....takes about 15-20 mins. Or take the boat if it's at the DHS dick, or just coming in. Otherwise it could be a lengthy wait.
A cab isn't a bad idea. The cost should be around $10 or so...it's less than a 10 min drive.

When hopping from AK to MK is it easiest to just take the bus to the Contemporary and then walk over? Any better ideas? Sorry if this was answered already!

There's a direct bus between AK and MK that stops right at the entrance to MK.
