January 2016 Discount Code Watch

We are planning our first trip in January. I want to stay at Pop Century for three days with Park Hoppers. Any Suggestions and does anyone have an idea of what it would cost us for our little family? Both of our children are under 3 so we would only have to pay for mine and my husband ticket.

I know this is old and I hope you're still around. I like pop. We stayed once and had our room moved aftwd the first night (our request) Get a preferred room, but not pool view. It's still close to the main building but on the opposite side from the pool. You'll have to walk another 100-200 yards to get to the pool, but it's so much quieter.

We're going 1/23-1/31 I think. Going to rent an rv at fort wilderness. I've been spoiled the last two years. I like stepping out my door early in the morning and sitting outside. Well, not last year. It was freezing last year.

Well, we can book our January 2016 packages... now the real watch starts.

AP, FL Resident, RO, and package deals

According to last year's release dates and data from the years before we may have to wait until October for those codes and discounts.

I know, I couldn't wait to book this morning for August 2016"at poly. Really hoping though for some discounts next year as it was a bit high. Oh well I won't worry about that right now.

So excited to book January 24-30 at All-Star Sports for my bonus daughter's (28) very first trip (and yes, it's a surprise!!) Now I'm waiting for those discounts to come out.

Well, we are back to January dates for our trip! Originally planned to do 23-30. Then found out DD had her dance recital on Jan 23. So we decided to do 30-6. Got all excited and planned out...now we find out she has a competition on Feb 5-7. SO we are looking at 25-1. Makes things a little trickier with school, but not bad. :)

Love that you are taking your BD28 on a surprise trip! That warms my heart every time I pass it! I'm 37, and have perfectly wonderful parents, but I have no trouble being a BonusDaughter that goes to WDW, if you are looking to adopt more!!!

We are doing the 30th -5th or 6th. Still haven't figured out where yet!

We booked our trip this morning! So nice to have a ticker again.:goodvibes
We'll be staying January 30th to February 7th. I booked a Std room at POR, but I know I will have to be flexible if a discount is released because POR doesn't seem to get the best discounts lately. I really kind of have my heart set on POR so fingers crossed. Budget is always important though so we will move if we have to. Now to wait until October to see what is released.
I'm off to calculate my 180+10 mark for ADR's.:goodvibes

Hello everyone. DH and I have decided to take a cruise vacation in addition to our Disney vacation next year, so we're cutting back our Disney budget. We had been looking at staying deluxe but now the plan is for moderate. Did anyone do the stay/play/dine discount last year who could tell me about what percentage they saved off the entire package? I know the calculation of this discount is a big mystery, but I would like to try to get at least a ballpark figure. We're going to stay for 7 nights with 6 days of park tickets at a moderate. Thanks in advance!

This may help!

Waiting for discounts for second week in January. Booked our moderate hotel, hoping we can manage to upgrade to a deluxe if the discount comes through! Is this the best place to keep an eye on? Where is it posted? We have been lucky enough in the past to book once the discounts have been announced and once I was even offered a pin code on the phone! Pixie dust! pixiedust:

Haven't tried January before, hoping for a somewhat slower pace :).

Historically the discounts for January have been released around early October, and they are usually pretty decent since after MLK day through Spring Break is considered value season and slow at the parks.

Last year we had a lot of walk on rides or very short waits. Even Soarin was only 10 mins in late January.

So glad to find this thread – thank you! We're staying at WDW Port Orleans French Quarter from Jan 30-Feb 3. This will be our first time doing WDW during the winter and we've never booked before a discount.

Is is smarter to just book a room only reservation for January then change to package if there is a free dining offer (we have two teen boys so that works well for us!) Or go ahead and do the package now? Just wasn't sure about booking package now in case the only January discount ends up to be % off room and whether that's harder to call and ask to have applied?

If you see yourself getting a package in the long run then it would be wise to book a package now just to get the room held, then if you make changes to the package they can always move your money around in their system. If it turns out that a Room Only is going to be the less expensive option then they will refund you and change your existing package to a room only and take another deposit which would be one nights stay. Oddly enough Disney Travel Company which books packages and Disney Reservations which books rooms, dining reservations, and recreation are 2 separate entities in the same company, but they don't share a reservation system.

From what you are explaining you would be looking to book the Play, Dine, Stay if they offer it again this year which was a package last Jan-Mar. This was the 2014 package: http://www.mouseketrips.com/2014-walt-disney-world-play-stay-and-dine-offer/

Since it is a package the change to the offer would be seamless for you if you already had a package booked. Looks for discounts and further packages sometime around October if history is an indicator.

Keeping my eyes open for discounts Jan 9-16th, wish we didn't have to go over marathon weekend, but our AP's expire the 14th and I don't think we are renewing for next year :(

Just booked the Disney Visa Poly villa studio deal for July, that deal goes all the way until Oct., wish they would have done a few more months!!

Once the promos are released, if I want to call first thing they are available, what time does the call centers for reservations open? I know dining is at 7 am, but haven't had to call for room reservations right at the exact moment they are available, so not sure what time that would be :)

We will be in Disney World January 22nd-30th and will be getting married at the Swan on the 24th! I'm excited to book our trip, but am really hoping for a room discount.

Just booked our trip officially - Jan 24-Feb 1 at AoA Cars Suite. Now hoping to get a P/S/D discount to add on.
