Any get the invite to the Disney Vacation Club Neighborhood Beach Bash

We also plan to get there at 7pm using the bus. We will be staying at Fort Wilderness in a cabin. The MK is open until midnight that night. Will it work to leave Typoon Lagoon by say, 11:45, on a bus to Grand Floridian. Then monorail over to MK. Then boat to the fort?

Can anyone come up with a better option?
I would take a cab or uber back to the cabin. Otherwise plan on 1-1.5 hour with three modes of transport and MK emptying out.

DVC may have return transport too, so you could bus back to Contemporary than walk to boat.

They are offering transportation but it's only to dvc resorts. I would think they could take a bus to wlv and hopefully can get a bus to fort wilderness if they are still running, or a taxi.

You have to call MS to book.

Okay....member services, and I know I can't book until the 8th. Back to my other question (if anyone knows...), how quickly do you think it will fill up?

Frankly, am I the only one who doesn't like using our dues this way? I mean, the only ones who can benefit from this are those members who already have trips planned. If they're going to use DVC money for something, I'd like to see the money used in a way more members can benefit from. For example, I suggested why not negotiate with the valet service to at least give members a discount on valet parking? Or more year-long members' discounts on other things? Oh, boy-rereading this, maybe I should put on my flame-retardant suit and hide under the table now.

While I get to partake in this rare event, I understand exactly what you're saying. Every year they have those merry mixer parties and all members attending get this cute little ornament. But we don't travel that time a year so we don't get it, while I'm sure locals visit often and get extra. I always thought why bother with the party and wouldn't it be nice if all members got one mailed to us each year as a Christmas gift. While I'll certainly sign up to take the grandkids to the August event, it's rare that I'm even going to be there because I never travel in the summer. I had this crazy idea that I would take my 3 granddaughters to wdw without their parents. I certainly would've prefer a good ticket discount or even free or discounted valet. But at this point I'm happy that I am in the right place this trip. No need to hide under the table...you have a valid point.

Valet parking would be useless to most IMO. We travel from the northeast and never rent a car. I'm guessing most fill this category.

And I don't think there are that many local DVCers (some, but not many). And maybe valet parking wasn't the best example. Maybe restaurant discounts? More ticket discounts? Something that more DVCers would benefit from than the very small percentage benefitting from this. But don't get me wrong-if we had a trip planned at the time of the Beach Bash, we'd probably be there. And I hope y'all who are lucky enough to go enjoy it.

I understand your point, could this possibly be a trial for something in the future? If this goes well, maybe this is a perk that will be opened up to more dates during the summer and warmer months. Fingers crossed. Oh and BTW we are in WDW at VWL on the 4th of August :).

I replied to another thread but will post here too. We normally do not travel to WDW in the summer, but are going in August this year to accommodate DH's new job schedule. We'll be attending the party on August 4th. Although we have PAP's and go to the water parks each visit, this event sounds fun!

The cost while probably inflated is miniscule. Unlike your local condo board where you actually own and have a larger say, this is really not something that concerns me. If you think about the Welcome Wednesdays that they would have every week, it probably was costly when you look at it on an annual basis, and the % of people who would attend vs. who was on property that week was pretty low. I am purely speculating but the costs that Disney charges DVC for busses, ME, shared costs of a resort are probably more out of wack than the pool party. I have a bigger issue with how my home resort has been refurbished (BWV) and how the new decor looks very generic. While discounts are nice, and the pool party is as well, DVC is under no obligation to have them or continue them. I personally prefer that the discount for the AP be increased, but that ain't going to happen.

I am so excited that I get to attend this event! I just purchased direct only three days before this announcement. Fortunately, I live 2 hours away and while I wasn't planning to visit Disney that week, my sister and I are making a 2-day trip just for this party (and so she gets the luxury of staying at Disney Hotel (her first stay in a Disney resort) and a deluxe one at that! We're doing a split stay between SSR and AKV Jambo w/savannah view.

Welcome home! Which resort did you buy?

Does anyone have any insight as to which attractions will be open? I believe the announcement said "select attractions" so I'm not sure which will be open. I've never been to any of the water parks after sunset...is it well lit? Looking forward to going!

A couple of years ago they had a similar event at Blizzard Beach. I was lucky enough to be there during the scheduled times. They let us in at I believe 2 pm, gave us free small water wallets, and had refreshments. It was a real nice little bonus, and certainly made me feel like a "valued customer."
