Disney Bounding on a budget!

I've seen many threads on Disney Bounding, but I've never actually seen a thread where we can help each other find Disney Bounds, and put them together on a budget! :)

I just bought my Lilo Disneybound dress from MinzPrint! After seeing the person who owned the store post a lot on my Disney Facebook groups about her dresses I decided to buy one! They have TONS of casual Disney dresses and such! (The Lilo Disneybound dresses are only $15 + $5 shipping for a limited time!) However, they are on vacation until July 12th so keep that in mind when placing your order!

Polyvore is awesome for putting together outfits as well! But be careful of how much everything costs!

I don't like wearing wigs with Disney Bounds (makes me look too much like the character, and gets hot and annoying in the parks imo), but some people do! I like wearing wigs for cosplay so I'll list some wig stores but keep in mind with many of these stores you'll have to style the wig yourself, also they can get pricey (but they look a million times better than a Party City wig)! My favorite places for wigs are MatchWigs, eBay (some of my favorite shops are; vogue-builder, laurawu-123, jcpunk, and fashionplazas), L-email Wigs, TheFiveWits (AWESOME for character wigs!) and Lucaille (but shipping can kill so it's better to order several wigs together if you're buying from them). You can also do a search for "(character) wig" but be careful who you're buying from (as with anything else!)

And of course, you can thrift for things as well!

If you have any other suggestions, advice, questions etc, post them here :D

My teen daughter and I love to look at Disney Bound outfits and I will probably go that route for our Halloween trip to WDW. Thanks for the additional info.

fun info-thanks! of course my favorite way to find just about any style is by thrifting...:flower1:

I found the jade shirt and necklace I used as my Jasmine disney bound on the clearance rack at Cato. They have reasonable prices normally and when things are clearanced, the prices are great. I already owned the earrings I used. I wore it for my CRT reservation and Jasmine was there so it was nice. I wore this Disney Bound outfit in my normal life and gotten compliments on it including someone who recognized me as Jasmine in a store.

My Ursula one - I made the necklace and earrings and used a purple shirt I already owned. I added some Ursula Mickey ears that I'd bought at Halloween. That one was fun - I made sure to meet Ariel in her Grotto and the CM greeter had fun with me. I may use that if I go to MNSSHP again. I'd just add a black skirt if I do that.

I'd love to find something as Belle in her yellow dress or Belle in her normal blue dress - my problem is I'm plus sized which always makes it harder to find clothes that I like.

I also found a ruffled hot pink tank top at Marshalls so I'm trying to think of how to put that together for a Sleeping Beauty outfit. That shirt was on clearance for only 10.00 so I sure was happy to find it.

It would be awesome to see some pictures of the outfits.

I thought "bounding" used regular clothes.
Pooh Bear would be yellow/orange pants with a red t-shirt.
Mickey Mouse - red shorts, black t-shirt, yellow shoes..
Snow White - yellow skirt, blue shirt

These look like costumes to me.

Some people like to throw on clothes that match the character's color theme while some of us lean towards the most "costumey" side of it. It's your own choice which you prefer, since neither way is right or wrong!

Great Idea! Thank you!
I've been matching the character's color theme with just regular clothes. I love it since it is so much fun!

I love this thread! I just recently found out about bounding and love the idea. We are taking a huge family trip Sep '16 and all of us plan to Disney bound. I am still deciding, but I lean toward: Gaston for MK, Han Solo for HS, and maybe one more.::yes::

Was thinking about going old school Disney afternoon....Darkwing Duck!:woohoo: Head nod to the 90s!:thumbsup2

Most of my outfits are based on clothes I already have or can buy cheap but still wear to work, the store, etc. Just my preference, though.

I got some really cool ursula and maleoficint horns, necklaces earrings at Claires after Halloween, they were all $2 each, it is not somewhere I usually go but may be good this year after Halloween.

I like to buy things at thrift stores and doctor them up :) Here is a Haunted Mansion outfit I used last year. Had the boots but made lace boot toppers and added lace to the sleeves on the thrift store jacket. The purple parts and petticoat are from a satin formal I bought for $2 and cut up.

I also used a white sundress for Mary Poppins by adding bows and making a little clip-on hat (made the hat from a little straw one at Joann's--added lace and ribbon etc.

Too cute! Thanks for sharing!

I made an Eric (Little Mermaid) outfit. I thought Eric was so nondescript that I had to embellish the outfit to look more like a costume. For example I included rolled up sleeves and fashioned a big floppy collar. Otherwise people would not identify the outfit with Eric unless they asked.

Many other characters are in distinctive patterns or color schemes so that unaltered ordinary clothing that matched would immediately suggest the character.

Yes, to save on cost I got the components from a thrift store.

Thank you for this awesome link! I think Disney Bounding is such an awesome idea. I've really only Dapper Bounded before - DH and I went as Vanellope and Ralph for Dapper Day.

This year we're going to Dapper Day as Ursula and something else for him... not sure what. I got my dress on clearance from Torrid and now just need to make a purple petticoat to represent her tentacles.

We're also going as Joy and Anger from Inside Out for Halloween.

I love the Vanellope skater dress on Minzprint. I may have to invest in it!

If you're interested in Disney Bounding, you should follow Sarah Snitch and her boyfriend on Instagram. They are on the West Coast and do lots of Disney Bounding. She's great to get inspiration from!

Here is a shot of DH and I as Ralph and Vanellope on Dapper Day.

My friend and I are Disneybounding in March. On one of the days I'm going to do Snow White. I have some yellow fabric that I'm going to try to sew into a skirt. Then I'll pair it with a blue tank/t-shirt and a red scarf and red hair ribbon. I'm also going to try to find some red apple earrings or a necklace.

I know it isn't really Disneybounding, but I just got this dress from Hot Topic on sale:

I saw this on sale too but didn't get it (I don't like the back). It would be a good Belle outfit. http://www.hottopic.com/hottopic/Gi...d+The+Beast+Belle+Inspired+Dress-10284344.jsp

My big bounding place to go to is Forever21, which is more for teens and young adults. I'm bounding my entire vacation in November, so I really have to be good at cheap options. I just always have a list in my head of what I need. One thing I had fairly good success with is searching google for ideas, then checking ebay. I've lucked into two dresses for a fraction of their original cost and they're perfect for my bounds.
