I had a request for a copy of the current spreadsheet for the FE groups today. When I went to make sure everything was current before sending, I was reminded that a few people have not gotten their information in yet. If you are on the FE list, and have not gotten all of your information in, (like cabin number, number of adults, number of kids, favorite character, etc......) please post. Other group members are wanting to get started on their FE's, and they would like to be able to personalize them for each family.
I know for some of you, it is a matter of reaching 10 posts. There is an easy solution to this. You can either follow Betsy's example, and select different posts through out the thread to comment on, or even just log on to say hi and give a reminder of how many days, weeks, or months...:hourglass it is 'till the cruise. And if all else fails, refer to posts #57 and #69 (My suggestion is to read both before using the information in the posts).
And since I mentioned it, according to my countdown clock, we are
4280 hours away from embarkation day!:dogdance:

Hi guys! I just found this so sorry I'm late. My family and I will be on this cruise and we are so excited! My wife and I have cruised 3 times before: 1st with Commodore out of New Orleans ( I know, a long time ago) and 2 cruises on RCCL out of Galveston. This will be our first with our kids DD 7 & DS 3. 177 days Yahoo!!

Welcome to the group Smeece!
:welcome::welcome::welcome:
We are glad you found us.
I will add you to our Roll Call.
If you haven't already done so, take a bit and read through the posts. We currently have a poll to see what group activities everyone is interested in. One that may interest you is the toddler play time.
We also have an FE sign up. If you are interested, or would like some information about what an FE is, just let me know.
I look forward to getting to know you and, one word of warning, Disney Cruises are addictive!

Hi all! Still counting down the days. I've started collecting some FE things and getting a keepsake made for characters to sign! Need to fill up group 2!

We have had a few new families join the thread in the last few days. I am waiting to hear back from them on whether they want to do the FE or not.
Speaking of the FE, have I sent you the list of questions that I use to fill in the FE spreadsheet?

Tink, I dont think we're going to participate in the FE this time but I'm sure we will be planning another DC and will look at it then. This being our first DC there will just be too much to take in to try to do everything. Sounds fun though!

I do agree, there is a lot to keep you busy. You were smart in choosing the smaller ship to get your toes wet on a Disney cruise. Our first 2 Disney Cruises were on the Wonder and the Magic. For cruise #3 & #4, we did back 2 back on the Dream. I am so thankful that we did back 2 backs for our first experience with the Dream. It was like taking the leap from just visiting Disneyland (pre California Adventure ) for a 3 day vacation to trying to conquer all of Disney World in 3 days. We tried that too, and 'vacation' is not the term I would use to describe that trip. It was more like active chaos.
Good news for you though, the Wonder is totally doable in 7 days. Plus you are already off in the right direction, realizing that you don't have to do it all to have a great time.
We are meant to enjoy vacations :beach:, not stress about them! :scared:

I just got through reading an article entitled 17 Epic Cruise Fails.
It had 17 different stories from past cruisers depicting mistakes they had made on cruises. It was amusing and enlightening. I wanted to pass it along so that none of us are caught making the same flububs. Click HERE to view the article.

I've seen that. Thx! And yes, I've received that and could have sworn I answered all the questions

Happy Friday :wave2:
Not including today, because by 1 PM, I would have already been on board, eaten my brunch, and made any adjustments needed to my dining (such as snagging a Palo reservation), we will be boarding the Wonder on the 25th Friday from today :teacher::hourglass:D
And we can start completing our online check in, booking excursions and scheduling our on board activities in 8 weeks for platinum Castaway Club members (paid in full):hourglass (July 30th)
10 weeks for Gold Castaway Club members (paid in full):rolleyes1 (Aug. 14th)
12 weeks for Silver Castaway Club members (paid in full) :rolleyes2 (Aug. 29th)
and 14 weeks + a few days for 1st time cruisers :fish: (Sept 13th)

With only 25 Monday's until we board, I thought I would make good use of them. Each Monday between now and the cruise, I will try to post at least 1 item that you should not forget to pack. So, here goes......

Monday Forget me Not's - Shoe organizer w/ a hook on the top to hang on a towel hook (Disney no longer allows over the door hangers. If you use one that goes over the door, you run the risk of getting a repair bill added to your account).
These organizers come in handy when you are trying to keep all of your bathroom stuff organized, out of reach of little hands, and clutter free.

I have been meaning to ask, does anyone have any recommendations for parking?
- If this is a copy of someone elses question, I am sorry for the duplication.

Here is the most up to date group activity poll.

Group activity interests

Pre boarding meet - 2
Mixology class - 3
Group Meet - 4
Shuffle board tournament - 3 (our son)
Basketball shoot off - 1
Cabin Crawl - 5 (Again extra came from our son )(5 - w/poker; 0 w/o)
Pub or lounge meet - 1
Toddler play date (for little ones to young for the kids area) - 4
private verandah meet - 2
*more detailed descriptions of choices in post # 112

It's looking like the Toddler play date, the cabin crawl, and the group meet are the most popular.
If you are interested in any of those, please let me know which ones you want to do, and I will start a sign up sheet for those 3.
As for the others, if interests peak closer to sail date, I will be happy to open other lists up as well.

Also, would one of the Moms signing up for the toddler play time be willing to do the organizing of it. I can take care of the cabin crawl and the group meet, but since I don't have a toddler any longer (going on more than 10 years since ), I would not be the best person for the job.

Could somebody recommend a good place to park? I know you have the port parking lot which once parked feels like a 30 minute walk to the boat and a place across the street called Galveston Park N Cruise. Has anyone tried that one before?

We have parked at discount cruise parking. They are located on the first street you come to just as you cross over the causeway.
Their prices are reasonable, and the customer service is excellent. But they are a small lot. You can get a discount by booking ahead of time on line.
I have talked with people who have parked at the 2 across the street. For the most part, the only 2 negatives I have heard about the port parking is the long wait to park (they say you have to arrive early to get there before the rush). And the walk that you mentioned. From what I understand, they do offer a shuttle for an additional per person charge. I believe the other lot close to the peir is an indoor lot. The people who parked their wanted some place inside. So they didn't mind the higher fee. I believe that lot offers a shuttle. Don't quote me on that though. I know that one of them has a coupon on their website for a discount on your parking.
Here is a link to the Galveston website (more specifically their page for cruise parking )
http://www.galveston.com/cruiseparking/
All you have to do is select our ship, and the sail date, and they will show you the different lots available and their prices. I would recommend going to each possible lots website to check for discounts.

I hope this helps!

What a weather week we are having. If you are in East or South East Texas, I hope you are safe and dry. We just went through another weekend of Flood warnings here, and are expecting more as the week progresses.
Stay safe everyone.
