Have a Photopass Question? Ask me!

This is a great thread. I have learned so many things About photo pass.

Thank you for taking the time to do this! :-)

I've read through the thread, but still have a question. If we purchased a package and have our magic bands, do we also need to get a photo pass card with a number on it, or is just having our magic bands enough to link the pictures?haven't quite decided whether to get memory maker or not yet.

You just need your bands.

Is there a list somewhere of what rides/meals have the included with the Memory maker?
I remember with PP+ there were only some.
Also, is there a way for the photogs to know that you have the memory maker? Last time (2 years ago) i remember that I had a lanyard with my card and one of the photographers told me they were told to spot those and shoot away. I got some excellent pictures of my kids waiting in line.

It's the same ones that were available with the PhotoPass+ CD, but now there's also one for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.

Attractions:

Splash Mountain
Space Mountain
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Test Track
Tower of Terror
Rock 'n' Roller Coaster
Dinosaur
Expedition Everest

Dining:

1900 Park Fare
'Ohana
Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show
Chef Mickey's
Tusker House
Hoop De Doo Musical Revue

As far as I know, the only way the photographers will know you have Memory Maker is if you tell them.

Thank you ChanaC for starting this thread and thank you to everyone for the great questions and info! I am learning a lot.

So, I think that I have a list of magic shots and locals for them...well, all but one. That amazing Vader shot. Is that only done during Star War weekends? If not, is it still done and if so where? My family would go bonkers to fight the man! Any info would be wonderful. Thanks!

Oh, and Sven! So, my DD (15) isn't really an Anna, Elsa, or Olaf fan :scared1::confused3 but she LOVES that deer (hey, reindeer are better than people after all)... I have seen on the web photos with Mr Sven photo booming but I can't seem to find out where to get that. And then I read about the animated shots and he was there again! I'm just wondering how I might go about asking for one or both of these shots. The teen would be so excited. Truth be told, so would I. :lmao:

Thank you, you guys. You totally rock! :worship:

~AussieCaribou (yep, that would be an Australian Reindeer...lol)

Not sure what happened on the other post, but here is what I wanted to show you.

We had this pic taken in AK at the Everest Bridge in October. We asked for any Magic Shots, nothing specific and the CM told us she was giving us a brand new one. We had no idea it was Sven until we got home. A lot of the CM's wanted us to be surprised, so they didn't tell up what they were doing, just told us to stop them if the pose felt familiar and they would move on to something else. We had no idea about the animated shots, but will definitely be asking about them in September when we take our oldest two kids.

PS I hope the pic works; this is my first try!

Did it work?

Ha! It worked! @AussieCaribou Is this what you are looking for? I don't have the animated pic that others were talking about, but I'll be asking for it when we go back in September.

I love the video of the Tower of Terror in our PhotoPass account. There is a "download" button below the video, but it doesn't seem to work. Can you purchase a download of the videos or only the photos?

Thank you!
Tanya

Is there an *easy* way to delete all the random stranger pictures (like from event photo cards) off your memory maker? Or do I just continue to do one by one?

So, I've read from each end of this discussion (skipped pages in the very middle) and need to think what I learned through aloud, so to speak. In two weeks my DD and I are going on our fourth trip to WDW and will be there for 10 days. We have met all the characters we want already but (1) are going to Ohana (again) for bfast and (2) don't have any ride pictures. I've never used PP/MM but really want to leave my phone in my bag and not take any pix myself this time.
1. As long as I purchase MM online in my Disney experience before 3 days of arrival, it will automatically work on my magic band.
2. I can approach photographers in parks and ask for magic photos but don't need to mention that I have MM. I do need the photographers to scan my magic band.
3. I do not have to scan my magic band after each ride; a mechanism somewhere in the vicinity of my seat does that, and the picture automatically connects to my account.
4. The photographer at the Ohana character breakfast will take our picture with the characters and possibly candid. I will need to have my magic band scanned. That file is part of MM but I would need to pay for the printed package.
5. I should check the pictures online throughout my stay to catch any problems.
6. All files will be available afterwards for manipulation and multiple downloads but I should make sure I also obtain some file from MM indicating I have the right to print if I want to print at Walmart, through Shutterfly, etc.

Please let me know if any of you spot any mistakes!

This discussion has been a terrific help to me in figuring out if MM is worth it to me (I expect so) and how to use it to best effect. Thanks to all of you!

From the reports I have heard lately, the Ohana picture is not with all the characters- they will only take your picture with Stitch as he circulates in the restaurant. I believe this has replaced the printed picture that used to be taken outside the restaurant without the characters. My understanding is that all the restaurants that used to have printed packages now just load them on to your magic band/ MM account.

Got it! Thanks!

Yes, the "roller coasters" automatically read your Magic band and add the photos (and video from 7DMT) into your account. Rode Splash Mountain and 7 dwarfs tonight and by the time we were back in our hotel they were loaded.

This is exactly right. Just had the Ohana breakfast and the photographers circulate with Stitch.

I wish they had a photographer with every character at all of the character meals. That is really the only time I use my selfie-stick, because it's the only way to get a picture of all of us with a character. If they don't want guests using selfie-sticks they need to provide more photographers, especially for expensive character meals.

I have not read the entire thread, so I appologized if this has been asked previously.

Can you edit your memory maker photos from Apple devices or just from a pc and if so could you explain how it is different than editing from a pc? I am trying to add borders from an iPhone but cannot figure it out. Thank you in advance

As far as I know, edits can only be done from a PC. You could access the photo pass website in the browser on your device, but I've never seen edit options in the app.
