Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES RESORT Information & Questions

I am so glad that I found this thread. We will be spending one night at AS Movies before moving to CSR in October. DH and I are really excited to check out this resort, even though it is for one night. This is going to be a surprise trip for my kids and I know they will have a great time swimming in the pool and exploring the resort (they are huge picture takers). We haven't stayed in any of the value resorts before but have visited them from time to time and we have been wanted to try them out. This resort will be a great one to start doing that :goodvibes.
We are staying here for the first time in June and it does look like there will be lots of fun picture spots. We stayed at All-Star Sports once and my daughter (then 9 I think) loved it. We had to walk all around the resort looking at the character statues and stairway things like the giant tennis ball cans. She usually likes swimming in the quiet pools the best since they are less crowded. We like CSR too and have a trip planned there in August. Have fun planning!

Does anyone know what the pool hours are for the two pools here in June? Do they have a fence and gate that requires a magic band/room key to open like the gate at CBR?

The pools aren't gated.

Pool hours are at least 9AM to 9 PM, extending to as much as 8 AM to 12 AM during busy times. That's all I could find.

Life guards are normally on duty from hour after opening leave hour before closing

Very recently Disney has changed their pool hours for all the Main Feature pools. Currently they are 9AM-11PM. After Labor Day they switch to 9AM-10PM. After the holidays they switch to 10AM-8PM. Then sometime before Spring Break they are 9AM-10PM. Then the Friday of Memorial Day Weekend they switch to 9AM-11PM.

I know at the Moderates the Leisure Pools are 24 hours. I do not know about the Leisure Pools at the Values or Deluxes.

Thanks for the info about the pools not being gated and the hours, 9AM-11PM sounds good! I probably can't stay awake much later than that anyway. Seventeen days until our trip and I am getting so excited. I'm ready for school to be out and a great start to summer!

I will be staying at All Star Movies on an upcoming trip, checking out on June 12. I am bringing a brand new coffee maker* that I will not be taking home with me. If anyone is checking in sometime in mid-June and would like to have the coffee maker contact me by PM and I would be glad to leave it at Bell Services for when you arrive.

First come, first serve.

Dee

* 12-cup Rival with filter basket. I'll save the box so I can put the coffee maker back in.

Does anyone there now have the entertainment schedule they could post, specifically the outdoor movies schedule?

There lots of fun picture spots!! Life sized checkers in "Andy's Room" ..TV frame from Dalmations ...I'll leave you to discover the rest!. I love taking my daughters pic every year to see how she has grown compared to the scenery.

OOH! this sounds even cuter than Sports. We have an afternoon planned just for exploring, playing in the arcade and swimming.

Haven't stayed at the All Stars in several years but looks like we'll be at Movies for DD's dance trip next January. We will be driving and handling our own luggage. I think you used to be able to borrow luggage carts from bell services. Do they still allow that? DH may not be able to go with us so I'm trying to figure out how DD and I will handle getting everything to our room.

I'm not sure, but I kind of doubt that they will let you use the luggage cart yourself. We always just leave our luggage in the car until we check in, then drive to the parking area closest to where our room is and carry or roll it to the room from there. You could let them bring it to you, but then you need to tip them, and I am so awkward about tipping.

My DD also loved the activities that happened by the pool every afternoon as well. They were fun for all ages...tip..make sure you have your Camara handy!!!!!!..we are excited for our trip this Oct!...also check out the real Herbie car from the original movie in the "Herbie" section!...

This is what I'm thinking too. I don't mind tipping them cause it would sure be easier to have someone else haul our stuff to our room - we'll have several pieces with us since we have to bring DD's dance stuff. But I'm wondering - will they bring our stuff right away or will it take awhile for it to be delivered to our room? We're probably going to be on a pretty tight schedule and I think we'll have to be up pretty early the morning after arrival for a pre-park-opening photo session. We will most likely arrive late afternoon/early evening and I don't want to be up late that night waiting on our luggage to get to the room. :(
