So glad I cancelled!

so glad i went

I hope you enjoyed the crowds.
I can't stand crowds of that magnitude. It would have been very uncomfortable for me. If there is a 24 hour event next year though I might attend then. I was looking forward to going but had to change my plans due to work. But after seeing this and what I have read am glad I had to cancel! :)

The crowds were insane, but it was so worth it to see the parade and fireworks on the first night. The It's a Small World viewing area was great for the fireworks projections since everything was on one big canvas basically.

Honestly that is your opinion. I would not have appreciated feeling like a human sardine. No thanks.

LOL. I was being sarcastic, which I forgot doesn't come across well in print. I'm claustrophobic, so this was terrible for me. I would have just left and come back later, but there was no way to walk. It really wasn't horrible once the park opened though.

We got there about 5:15-5:20, walked right through the turnstiles. Now once inside it was a bit crazy. We just shopped a little, had Starbucks, and then started rides. It really wasn't that bad! The only bad thing was the lines for food early in the day, but that got better as the day went on. We did a ton of rides with FPs as the return times were quick in the morning into the early afternoon. While I don't know if I would do it again, it really wasn't bad and we had fun! Oh, and the parade and fireworks are absolutely fantastic! We didn't see WOC.

The chairs were something new for last night that I hadn't seen before for a parade. I know the benches that get moved around in the hub are normally reserved for guests that have VIP seating through a tour / VIP guide or are in a handicap accessible viewing area. The one by Small World only had one person sitting it an hour before the parade and I thought I saw them wearing a Disney name tag, so I think it may have been a spot where Disney executives were sitting, or their invited guests.

and watching the sun come up behind the castle was magical!

It would have to be magical for the sun to rise in the North , but I get your point.

My friend is a club 33 member and was on a tour. Her group was seated near Small World.

The people in chairs were all VIPs of one kind of another. Most took a tour, but there were also some Club 33 members, a few higher up employees and former employees, and one or two press people. There were tons of people confused about the chairs and didn't understand why if no one was sitting there they couldn't.

We didn't mess with the early parade. My kids walked up to the parade route for the 1 am showing with no problems and got a front spot. I watched the fireworks from tomorrowland and saw most everything. The longest line was 25-30 min. Yes, there were crowds, but they weren't in the ride lines and they left early. I stayed the full 24 and though I sat down quite a bit, my teens rode every ride.

things were so crowded along Main Street for most of the day that my friends and I avoided it completely. The rest of the park was no problem though, and we knocked out 23 rides between 6 am and 10 pm (which is when we started waiting for Paint the Night).

It seems to me that it was just main street and parade route that got really crowded, but the rest of the park seemed manageable and wait times not too bad, based only on my observation from outside the park. Was that the case?

Also, lines to get in the park were supposedly hours long?
