Wilderness cabin " bungalows"

Here's a closer look at the new pool and restaurant.

I've seen these diagrams and it looks like that pool is the Hidden Springs pool, or at least in the location of the Hidden Springs pool. I haven't seen a spot for a new, 3rd pool. Am I missing something? :confused3

Is it possible that the pools they are referring to in the plans could be the little individual ones that each bungalow would have, something similar to the new Poly bungalows?

Room Size

Am I reading this correctly in that the room size of those lake front units is about 32 ft wide and 65 ft long, meaning over 2000 sq ft and thus Grand Villa size?

Assuming that DVC Mike's scaling legend is accurate, then yes, the cabins will be approaching 1,900 square feet not including exterior deck space. This would put the Wilderness cabins more in the league of Grand Villas and at least 70% larger than the PVB bungalows, which are 1,093 square feet.

Yes but it is it clear that there will be only one unit per bungalow.

I might be misunderstanding what you are saying, but the orientation of the Wilderness cabins' footprints suggest there will be only one vacation home per structure. All the square footage in each structure, whatever it turns out to be, will probably belong to each cabin.

Thanks for posting. Would love to own points there someday as VWL one of our favorites.

I just wondered if they might put say a 2 bedroom and a studio in that place making more than one unit of if we k ow yet for sure if the bungalow will be hired out all as one full unit

When I look at the cabins' footprints in post #10, I don't see how there could be access and egress from more than one vacation home. The footprint is too narrow to have two villas side by side, and I can't see how you can have one villa in front of another.

All things considered, I hope DVC Mike's scaling is correct because I think these cabins will be much larger than the typical DVC two-bedroom or bungalow.

If the posted info is correct, the point cost is going to be so high that most DVC members will never stay there. If the new owners are somehow added to the current VWL association, booking for existing owners is going to become a challenge.

How big are the tree houses?

The Treehouses are only 1074 sq ft, significantly smaller than the approximately 2,000 sq ft GV size being shown in the VWL pictures above for those lake front units if DVC Mike's measurements are correct. The VWL units are close in size to BLT GV's, which means huge.

Looks like much of the wilderness is going to disappear from the Wilderness Lodge. Not happy about these plans, especially the apparent loss of the beach. But then I haven't been happy with much that has been done to WDW the past few years. I'm sure it will turn out nice, just very different than what it used to be.

I would love to see more options at the WL, but I hope it is not at the same expense as the Poly Bungalows. They pretty much have priced them above what I am will to use my points for.

Purely speculation on my part.
I would think they will be less points than poly but will still be out of reach for most guests. With only 26 cabins they will max out point values. I could see them doing something a bit different than poly and have increased capacity. It would be neat with a loft space above for additional sleeping. Again pure speculation.

JMO but I believe that the last few years have been all about the money for Disney and nothing about the magic. When they finish the new mansions at WLV it will lose that wilderness feeling. Lots of woods going, animals gone and we are just losing our joy of coming to Disney.
Yes, I know Disney is a business but pretty soon just going to a park will be over $150 so you can spend most of the day standing in line for a ride for a 1 day ticket. JMO
