What will Cars Land WDW look like?

I'm guessing you don't live with a 5 yo DD...Frozen Fever is still an active diagnosis in this household featuring Elsa shirts at least once a week to school. Just Let it Go child...

I do actually...but I'm the DAD...and I like EPCOT and see the value that it was built with...

And the term "DD" implies that they have more control than they've earned. So I just have a D...and like wdw days of old...everybody can take a turn picking/enjoying what their preference is.

It doesn't have to be princess dresses and meet and greets for 7+ days straight.

Tell the DD..."no"...it might catch on...

And my 5 year old likes all the princess stuff...and other stuff...not just frozen.

I'll say this again - tangled was a better movie...

So...let it go...I guess.

No, the term "DD" doesn't mean they have more control than they've earned.

Are you implying that the previous poster doesn't know how to say no to his DD? I think that is a big jump.

No...I have no idea...

I'm more rejecting the argument that they had to go off the map in world showcase because "that's what the kids want"

And I have seen that stated 484 different ways for about 10 months now.

It's just my opinion.

I said I think Frozen Fever is fizzling, and the commenter said not in my house. My 5 yo is still nuts about it. Which I thought was kind of cute.

Anyway, I see your point about the Epcot ride and whether it belongs in there or not.

I am a former DL cast member and was working for the park when DCA opened up. DCA has always had attendance issues. It was a poorly thought of park with little to no shade or seating. On top of that very few rides in several age ranges. The frozen event was a big hit but honestly with the rise in price of the annual passes fewer people are getting them. Cars land is a huge hit with a few blunders when it comes to the ride department. As for appearance it is amazing. The Radiator Springs Racers is great but very similar to test track. They have a few original food and snack locations but that is all. Attendance will be great this year because of the 60th Diamond Anniversary so if coming to CA this year expect large crowds.

I can't see a Cars Land happening. I think we'll see a Star Wars expansion long before we see a Cars Land in Florida. Star Wars is a loaded bank vault Disney just has to open up. I think Disney is hoping Star Wars will open to a very positive response and sometime after that media frenzy we'll hear something about a Star Wars area/attraction. I wouldn't be surprised to see some kind of Cars overlay as Hollywood Studio's lends itself well to Radiator Springs. But, if Disney is going to do something big at Hollywood Studios, I can't help but feel it would involve Star Wars.

Ok... So here's a loaded question:

What would "opening it up" entail?

They already have Star Wars weekends that are successful even though it is largely meet and greets. If they actually did a larger themed area on the scale of Universal's Harry Potter, they could really have something that was a draw for Hollywood Studios. As it stands, Hollywood is a half day park, and not an every Disney vacation necessity. One could argue that Disney doesn't care if people only stay half day, but, frequently people try to do animal kingdom and hollywood in the same day. Right now, they are both half day parks. Very neatly actually, you hit animal kingdom in the morning and go over to Hollywood in the afternoon so you don't miss Fantasmic. I believe that Disney is trying to get away from the half day park, thus the upcoming night time show at Animal Kingdom along with Avatar land. That way, you can't park hop without missing a nighttime experience.

Many Disney vacationers stay offsite, having a half day park means losing out on dining and merchandising. With Hollywood, you can ropedrop, see all the highlights and be back at the room or at the outlet malls by around 2 pm.

They are missing a large demographic right now, the 20-30 something male. I cannot get my brothers to come to Disney. They are not interested. They love Star Wars, rode Star Tours, it's meh, and now they are done with Disney until Disney comes up with something else.

As far as what exactly they need? I have no idea. I know it can't just be a ride, or just be a themed area. It has to be something more, but what that something more is, I'm not sure. I imagine though that if I knew what that was, I wouldn't be working in a library right now.
