From the Sea to the World - Holiday Edition - Completed

An update with only food pictures – and one blanket animal

Once back on the ship we were really hungry! We had thought about getting something in San Juan, but then we thought why spend money when we could get free food onboard. In hindsight I thought we should have researched the food options in San Juan and tried a local lunch. Next time!

So, after failing @nodnol horribly on two cruises, I finally managed to get lots of pictures of our fast food from the serving stations on the pool deck!!

First a hamburger:

DSC05699.jpg

You can tell that it is Michael’s as it has onions on it and I don’t do raw onions!

Had many this afternoon at a salad bar place that I want to take you when you are here!

(not sure whether this was meant as a general comment for everyone, or just for me, but I decided to leave it in. Now you all know that Michael wants to take me to a salad bar and I have witnesses!)

I have read so many comments on the DIS about those burgers being inedible. I really don’t understand that. They certainly are no gourmet burgers, but I think they taste good enough.

They are very good. I would definitely say they are better than the typical WDW or DL burger.

Next a salad:

DSC05700.jpg

On the Wonder they had small bowls with salads prepared that they would hand out to you and then you could add dressing as you wished (ranch and Italian were the options). On the Fantasy the fixings bar served as a tiny salad bar as well, so you could put your own salad together.

I had a panini and added a side salad:

DSC05701.jpg

This was brie, tomato and bacon and it was quite delicious. It could have been warmer though. On the Wonder they made the paninis freshly when you ordered it, here it was kept warm in a container. I remember thinking that if I ordered one again, I should ask if I could get one freshly made.

I also got two chicken strips:

DSC05702.jpg

Those are really delicious!

After lunch we headed to the pool for a little while. This was the afternoon when I was trying really hard to purchase a drink while at Satellite Falls and just did not find anyone. I was a bit frustrated that the pool servers did not bother to make the round there and when I went to the bar, they were busy chatting with a couple and did not acknowledge me at all. I kind of gave up on Satellite Falls after we had departed San Juan (I wanted to enjoy the view from up there) and went to hang out in the Adult Pool for a bit. Since the seas were pretty rough, it turned into a nice wave pool!

I am starting to understand why Orlando was moving for almost the entire week we were there now!

And then it soon was time for Wishes, the show of the evening. It is one of the three main big Disney productions on the Fantasy. It is about a group of kids graduating from high school and visiting Disneyland together. Reading about it, I had thought that this sounded like a fun show. But in the end, I did not enjoy it very much. One of the main actors was far too cheesy (and I already expect Disney shows to be very cheesy). In my opinion she was overacting way too much. I enjoyed the songs though, so it was not all lost.

I'd see it again/ Not a must do, but enjoyable ... and, yes, sappy in a typical Disney way.

On the other hand, for me this is a show that I will happily skip on another cruise on the Fantasy.

Before or after the show we also paid our daily visit to the shops to see if there was anything new or newly reduced, but had no luck. But we spoke with Tim, the store manager from Germany, about San Juan and he told us that he always makes sure to go and have a local lunch there as there is so much wonderful food in San Juan. Yes, we missed out on that thanks to bad planning…

After the show we got ready for dinner and then headed to Skyline for a pre-dinner drink and to continue working on our passport!

Michael opted for the Paris 75: Grey Goose Citron Vodka, Peach Schnapps, Blue Curacao, Pineapple Juice, Sugared Rim and a Souvenir Glow Cube:

DSC05704.jpg

I had the St Pete Sling: Russian Standard Original, King’s Ginger, Honey Syrup, Freshly Squeezed Lime and Grapefruit Juice, Jasmine Tea and a Souvenir Glow Cube.

You don’t get a picture of it as it looks exactly the same as Michael’s drink (or maybe Michael’s drink picture is really mine. No way to tell them apart with a glow cube colouring the drink in the pictures.

We were running a little late and arrived at dinner a few minutes after our meal time. Michael kept telling me not to worry, but I did not want to make things difficult for our servers. However, one other large table of 8 that was under our servers’ care managed to arrive about 30 minutes after service had started! So, being 5 or 10 minutes late as a table of 2 seems to not have been the biggest issue…

What is it about Germans and being on time. It isn't like the trains are always on time there, right?

They used to when I grew up.

Tonight was the Prince & Princess menu. On the Panama Canal cruise that was one of the menus that made us skip the dining room as it did not appeal to us. Michael original wanted to bail tonight as well, but I really enjoyed the main dining rooms on this cruise and wanted another meal in Enchanted Garden, so made a case of eating there. Michael agreed, I think because so far on the cruise we had really good experiences with the food and our servers.

We were greeted with a lovely place setting:

DSC05706.jpg

The bread for the day was Fig and Date Ciabatta Roll with Mint Yoghurt Dip:

DSC05707.jpg

DSC05708.jpg

I remember really liking it.

As our first appetizer we both ordered “Belle’s” Blue Cheese Polenta Cakes with Caramelized Onions and Walnuts:

DSC05709.jpg

It turned out to be quite wonderful! We both were really surprised how much we loved it. For me there could have been a bit more blue cheese, but for Michael it was the perfect amount. So, cheese lovers should not that it is not a lot of blue cheese!

We both ordered the same salad as well: Coronation of Mixed Leaves: Vine Tomatoes, Blue Cheese, Apples, candies Walnuts and aged Red Wine Vinegar:

DSC05711.jpg

Now I got my blue cheese fix as Michael transferred his blue cheese over to my plate!

Another really good salad, not as wilted as the ones we were served on the Wonder. And there was a decent amount of apples and walnuts in it to make it interesting. The dressing was really tasty, too.

For his main course Michael had the Vegetable Lasagna served with Three Cheese Sauce and Tomato Sauce:

DSC05715.jpg

It looked delicious – and it was. Michael kept telling me how wonderful it was. He said that it was one of the best vegetable lasagnas he ever had.

It truly was. The entire meal was actually the best ''surprise' of the cruise. My expectations were not high as the menu looked ordinary at best, but the food was very, very, very good.

I guess like one should never judge a book by its cover, one should neither judge a meal by the menu...

I had the Roasted Mushroom Triangoli Pasta topped with Sour Cream, Pesto Swirl and a sweet Butternut Squash Sauce:

DSC05713.jpg

This was excellent as well!

I also was really happy to see a good pasta dish on the menu, that did not include any kind of shellfish (which I don’t eat).

For dessert Michael had Cinderella’s Lemon Cheesecake: Lemon-infused baked Cheesecake with dark Cherry Compote:

DSC05716.jpg

He said it was good, but not exciting.

I had Princess Jasmine Banana Bread Pudding: Banana Bread Pudding, Caramel Sauce and toasted Macadamia Nuts:

DSC05717.jpg

While my serving seems to have wandered on the plate, it was excellent! I love puddings and this was very good! I guess I need to give this a good second place behind the Grand Marnier Soufflee. I won’t dream about it, but I need to keep it in mind the next time I can order from that menu.

While we were eating dessert, Sughit, our server, came over and suggested a little riddle. We were not really keen on that, but he said, he will just put it down and we can ignore it if we want. Of course we totally got into it and obsessed about how to solve it:

DSC05718.jpg

You are supposed to get the diagonal crayon off the “shovel” with moving only two crayons and not touching the diagonal one. We needed a small hint from Sughit, but then I got it! It was really a fun addition!

And then after dessert, I got an additional surprise:

DSC05720.jpg

Our servers came and sang Happy Birthday to me. It was really nice. The cake however, was nothing spectacular and was a typical DCL dessert that is sweet, but rather tastefree.

I really have no idea whether our head server was there as well or not. He was really strange. The first two evenings he more or less ignored us. He came and greeted every table around us and then just skipped over us. On the third evening he came and asked if everything is ok and we felt that he did not really want to listen to anything we had to say (which was that we thought our servers were excellent). He kept ignoring us and the few times we interacted with him he gave off a rather insincere vibe. I often read comments on the DIS of people thinking that head servers were superfluous and why should they tip them. Our head server might very well have done a great job overseeing his servers, but he definitely did not show very good people skills for someone working in the service industry. I would never not tip him because of that. But I did not feel like I had to go out of my way to hand him the tip envelope at the end of the cruise either. The envelopes are just filled with the print out of the tip that has been charged to our onboard account, so he will get that tip anyway, whether I hand him the print out or not.

Yes, agreed on all counts. He seemed to enjoy talking to some people. But we were basically invisible to him. I likely would have not tipped him at all, but it wasn't much money.

Even with two desserts and the riddle and after arriving late, we left the dining room at 9:35pm! On the Panama Canal cruise we often spent nearly two hours at dinner. That was one of the reasons why we started to skip the main dining rooms. Here we never felt rushed, but the meal kept flowing at a nice speed.

I was really happy that we had not skipped the main dining room for this dinner, it was a great atmosphere and great food all around!

After dinner we took up our Midship Detective Agency game again and finished it. It really was a lot of fun!

I think we ended up spending quite some time in the art gallery chatting with a CM there and I started to consider buying one of the pictures from there. It was really lovely, but also quite pricey. And it was not what I had in mind. I had just bought a new sofa for my living room and wanted something to go on the white wall above it. So it needed to be a certain size and the one that I liked was rather small. But I kept it in my mind.

We then returned to our stateroom to find another blanket animal…

DSC05721.jpg

I have no idea what this is?

We finished watching “The Boys” about the Sherman Brothers. And I think afterwards we watched some of the Mickey Mouse cartoons that were released a couple of years ago. They were very cute!

And then it was time for bed! Tonight we were getting one additional hour of sleep as we were going back to EST as we were leaving the Caribbean.

Up Next: Fire and Ice

You can tell that it is Michael’s as it has onions on it and I don’t do raw onions!

I am with you on that.

It is about a group of kids graduating from high school and visiting Disneyland together. Reading about it, I had thought that this sounded like a fun show. But in the end, I did not enjoy it very much.

This sounds promising. What a shame that you did not enjoy it.

Up to this point the jury was out, but I have come to the conclusion that blanket animals really do not work.

to a fellow European!! And you will make Michael really happy! I will send him an email that we have found a Scottish person who knows Craig Ferguson! So, he does stuff on Scottish TV as well?
I know, not too many of us European's on here, maybe because the airfare for a family is almost the same as the cruise price :charac2: Craig Ferguson seldom does UK tv, I think he lives and is based in the US. I am planning to find Scottish Craig on the Fantasy - might even ask if he knows Craig Ferguson!!! x

Need to post to show off my lovely ticker!! We started it 11 months ago and today it reads:

1 month until Sisters' Summer Sailing to Scandinavia

This definitely calls for dancing bananas!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Oh My Gosh! I would be dancing all over the place!! I have a long time to wait for my countdown to say that!! I know you are so excited! I can't wait to read all about it! Are you planning to do a Trip Report for it as well?? I finally caught up on this one!! Your report is great! So many photos and great writing! I love it!

I am with you on that.

You have good taste!!

This sounds promising. What a shame that you did not enjoy it.

It was ok to see once, it did not feel like I wasted my time. And the next time I am on the Fantasy I get a free evening! :thumbsup2

Both drinks sound utterly delicious.

They were. I don't think we had a drink in Skyline that was not delicious - well Micheal and the ouzo one. But that was more an ordering mistake than the fault of the drink.

I love that appetizer.

It looks so simple. But tastes really good!

We both love this. Graham is not normally keen on vegetarian food, but for those he will make an exception.

I am starting to realize that the Prince and Princess menu is a hidden gem!

Up to this point the jury was out, but I have come to the conclusion that blanket animals really do not work.

I am wondering whether it was more clear when we were there in person...

I know, not too many of us European's on here, maybe because the airfare for a family is almost the same as the cruise price :charac2:

:rotfl2:That is one of the reasons why my sister and I are going on the Norway cruise. Factoring the difference in air fare from Germany to Denmark vs. to the US, the fact that the cruise is one of the pricier ones did not matter that much. I can only imagine how it would be if you have to fly a family of 4 during school holiday time! :scared1:

Craig Ferguson seldom does UK tv, I think he lives and is based in the US. I am planning to find Scottish Craig on the Fantasy - might even ask if he knows Craig Ferguson!!! x

Oh, you definitely should ask him!!! :rotfl2: And if you see Tim from Germany in the shops say hi to him from me (I am pretty sure if you say the German lady who cruised just before Christmas and talked to him about German cruise lines, he will know who I am:goodvibes)!

Oh My Gosh! I would be dancing all over the place!! I have a long time to wait for my countdown to say that!!

One day you will be down to one month, too!! We actually booked our cruise the day it was released, so we had about the same length of wait that you have. We just decided to start the ticker at exactly one year to celebrate that we were down to one year until the cruise.

I know you are so excited! I can't wait to read all about it! Are you planning to do a Trip Report for it as well??

There will be a trip report for the trip with my sister. She is actually the one who turned me into a trip report writer. She "demanded" that I write one for our first trip to WDW together and then again for my first cruise without her. Now she said that she is considering writing the trip report for our cruise (I will certainly chime in, just as she did on my first WDW trip report). But that is still undecided who will be the author and who the co-author.

I finally caught up on this one!! Your report is great! So many photos and great writing! I love it!

Thanks! I am happy that you are enjoying it! :goodvibes

Fire and Ice- Part 1

December, 4

Today was our last sea day of the cruise. A 7-night cruise goes very quickly compared to a 14-night one. That was one thing that I did not like about this cruise…

Or a 15-night cruise. (Oops! Yes, the Panama Canal cruise was 15-nights...) How soon they forget. I loved the cruise, but felt it went faster than even the few 5-nighters I've done. The new ship may have played a factor. Or the insanity at home. But it definitely went quickly.

After gaining one additional hour this night I got up bright and early (at least for me) at 7:30 am and gathered my things and went up on deck to investigate:

DSC05722.jpg

Pool is empty in the morning! I often read on the DIS that by 8am all chairs are reserved with towels and stuff on the pool deck. You can see that at least on that day that was not the case.

I decided to have breakfast at Royal Palace today, which offers a table service breakfast.

I started with the mango thingie that I so like. It is called Mango Mountain Hike: fresh blend of Mangoes, Honey, Granola and Low-fat Yogurt:

DSC05723.jpg

I have to say out of the three variations I had (Cabanas, Enchanted Garden and Royal Palace), this one in Royal Palace was the best. And not only because it was the largest portion size…

I ordered the French Toast and Pineapple Stack - Layers of French Toast and Grilled Pineapple, topped with Strawberry Coulis, Maple Glaze and Fruit salad and added a side of bacon:

DSC05725.jpg

I am usually not a huge fan of French toast, but I liked the idea of the pineapple mixed in. And I was surprised how delicious it was! And it was even better because I added the bacon!

I had to take a few more pictures here before I left – I think this is the dining room that I have by far the most pictures of.

DSC05727.jpg

DSC05728.jpg

They had nice Christmas decorations here:

DSC05729.jpg

And then it was time for me to head to the spa. I had scheduled a manicure there. Before the trip the nice lady that I usually go to for my pre-trip pedicure had talked me into trying out shellac (a special kind of nail polish that is more durable than normal nail polish) on my fingernails and I thought it would be a fun splurge. However, since I was away for quite some time, it was now nearly two weeks since I had gotten the shellac in Germany and I knew that I needed to replace it at some point during the vacation. I thought a sea day would be the perfect time to do that and it was convenient that the spa was right there. I knew I would be paying much more than if I went to a normal place in Orlando. But I decided to justify the splurge as a birthday present to myself.

I had booked the appointment on the first day when I did the spa tour and had decided to go for the “Fire & Ice Manicure” they offer. To get the shellac I had to pay extra, but I think the difference between the normal shellac manicure and the “Fire & Ice” was about 20-30$, so I thought it would be a fun addition and make it a little more special.

I checked in at the spa and was asked to take a seat in the waiting area:

DSC05730.jpg

DSC05731.jpg

I did not have to wait long and a nice lady came to get me. The Fire & Ice meant that in addition to the normal manicure I also got a bit of a massage of my hands and my lower arms with hot stones and then some cooling gel. It was interesting and relaxing, I just wished they would use the hot stones on my neck and shoulders where I have much more tension than in my hands…

The manicure itself was ok. My local lady is far better in my opinion. I also was not impressed with the selection of colors they had. I thought the selection was rather limited and most of them were really boring colors. I had original a darkish red both on toes and fingers and I ended up going with a lighter red that I hoped kind of matched my toes. I also found that she made my nails a strange shape. Even my local lady commented after the vacation when I went to see her again on the shape. I told her that I had a manicure in the US and she said that that explained it. Seems like there are different “nail shape cultures” between Germany and the US. Normally I have my nails rather rounded, but the CM on the ship made them very square. While I prefer my local lady, at least the shellac looked good and kept looking good until the end of the trip. It hold up a little over two weeks until I got it replaced at home.

I'll just add that I did NOT get my nails done. Or anything else for that matter.

(He really wanted to be turned into a princess at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique and still is bitter that they did not take him... ;))

After my spa time I got a drink and headed down to deck 4. Finally I got to sit in a deck chair on deck 4, look out towards the ocean and read!

DSC05740.jpg

After some time I went for another walk and proceeded to take some more pictures of the ship.

This is one of the elevator shafts in the atrium:

DSC05742.jpg

And then I took some picture of the shopping area:

DSC05743.jpg

DSC05744.jpg

There is a round space from which two walkways toward the shops go off and behind the shops is then the Walt Disney Theatre where they show the big shows in the evening:

DSC05748.jpg

I tried to get a panoramic shot there in order to get a sense of how things go together:

DSC05747.jpg

There is a shop on each side as well as behind the wall with the picture of Walt Disney.

I really liked the shopping area on the Fantasy. It was more open than on the Wonder and felt very inviting.

I also grabbed a picture of one of the “enchanted art” pictures around the ship. Those are the pictures that play a role in the Midship Detective Agency. If they are not used for the game, they just display pictures. But when you walk past them, something moves in them. For example in this one the Wonder would sail out of the picture:

DSC05752.jpg

Some of the pictures even displayed different pictures at different times during the day. It was quite fun to go and check them out.

Fire and Ice - Part 2

Later in the morning I went to wake up Michael. We decided that we wanted to have another lunch at Royal Palace.

This was the menu we got:

DSC05754.jpg

I started with the fruit soup – I still love them and to me those are one of the special things that I only can get on a ship. I never have seen fruit soups on normal restaurant menus. Today’s choice was Chilled Raspberry Soup with Mint Dollop:

DSC05756.jpg

Michael had the Mixed Leaves with Grilled Eggplant Slices and Basil Vinaigrette:

DSC05757.jpg

For my main course I had the Pan-Seared Pork Tenderloin with a Wild Mushroom Cream Sauce and Berner Rösti:

DSC05758.jpg

This was not very good. The pork was rather dry and so was the rösti. It tasted like they had prepared a lot beforehand and had kept it warm for too long. Also the sauce tasted strange… And looking at it I now realize that this was an issue of description and execution not fitting together. This is not a cream sauce, but a normal sauce with some cream added on top…

Michael had a burger, The Chuck Burger – Grilled ½ lb Burger with a choice of Bacon, Cheddar or Swiss Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes and Onions served with Coleslaw and French Fries:

DSC05760.jpg

I think he mainly got it because he wanted the steak fries! But he was not enthusiastic about it. Í think he had the same issue as me: too dry. He also did not have any lettuce and for some reason it seemed to take ages to get his food.

We decided to order dessert. And then we waited and waited and waited. Somehow the server we had for lunch was not brilliant at all.

Finally dessert arrived. I got the Bread and Butter Pudding with Vanilla Sauce:

DSC05762.jpg

This was good!! I really liked it, but it was too large a portion. So very sadly I left some.

Michael got the Raspberry Crème Brûlée garnished with Berries:

DSC05761.jpg

He said that this was excellent.

However, we could not really enjoy the lovely desserts that much. Because lunch took so long, we were starting to get late for one event that we wanted to attend. It was the Captain’s signing. I had given Michael a book that he wanted to get signed by Commodore Tom (who was our Captain on this cruise and is kind of the head captain of DCL, therefore the title Commodore). We were getting really close to when that was going to happen. We had asked Tim, the CM from the shop, whether we should expect a long line and he said that it should be ok, just show up at the start time. But the start time was just when our desserts were being served. So I ran up to the room after a few spoonfuls of my pudding and got the things that we wanted to get signed and went down there to stand the more or less non existing line. I had to wait for Michael for a bit and tried to let the people behind me pass me, but the guy behind me was in the same position and was waiting for his wife to bring something to sign. Luckily Michael appeared all happy about his dessert and we got to speak to the captain. He seemed rather bored by the whole process though. Captain Fabian on the Wonder during the Panama Canal cruise was more “magical”.

Disinterested is how I'd describe Tom's 'tude.

We brought our stuff back to the room and I decided to document the inside of the elevator that we were taking:

DSC05763.jpg

DSC05764.jpg

And then we decided to go for a walk around deck 4:

DSC05766.jpg

The seas had calmed down and it was a perfect day!

Michael also told me that I needed to make sure that I had enough pictures of the ship. So we went on a bit of a photo hunt:

DSC05767.jpg

DSC05768.jpg

DSC05771.jpg

DSC05773.jpg

DSC05775.jpg

This was the very large gingerbread house in the atrium. Unfortunately the rough seas in the previous days had caused some decorations to fall down, but it was not too obvious:

DSC05777.jpg

DSC05780.jpg

DSC05779.jpg

DSC05781.jpg

This was some artwork in the atrium:

DSC05782.jpg

I am sure that the fish display usually is not directly in front of the picture, but was put there to make space for the gingerbread house.

And I made sure to take a picture of our decorated door:

DSC05784.jpg

The snowman was from a Dollar store in Florida and I just put magnetic tape on the back.

Michael then went to the second talk by Clifford Schwartz from Disney Theatrical. He said it was really interesting.

I chose to do something very healthy and went for a run on the treadmill in the gym. There was still quite a bit of motion going on and that made it difficult to run on the treadmill, there were a few moments when I nearly fell off. On my last cruise there was a day when I really could not run and just needed to walk. The location of the gym all the way on the top at the front of the ship makes it really more likely to have motion issues. But I thought it was pretty warm outside and I did not want to run in the afternoon sun.

After the gym I met up with Michael at the pool and was able to convince him to go on a second ride on the Aquaduck when people started to get ready for the first dinner. And then I got myself a drink of the day to take to the room with me to sit on our balcony and watch the sun set:

DSC05786.jpg

DSC05787.jpg

This was when I realized that I liked the balcony, but I really did not need it. I found the chairs there a little uncomfortable, or better: less comfortable than the loungers at the pool. Also, I don’t have a server bringing me a second drink when I am on the balcony. I really prefer sitting in the public areas of the ship as compared to in my own space.

Up Next: Wow!

I am usually not a huge fan of French toast, but I liked the idea of the pineapple mixed in. And I was surprised how delicious it was! And it was even better because I added the bacon!

I have always wondered about this. I adore pineapple, but I am not too keen on French toast. I think I had "Arme Ritter" as a child just once too often. However, maybe I should give this dish a try the next time I am on one of the ships.

eems like there are different “nail shape cultures” between Germany and the US. Normally I have my nails rather rounded, but the CM on the ship made them very square.

I have this same battle in the UK. I like my nails rounded, but if I do not watch the nail technician like a hawk, I end up with square nails.

I am surprised that they did not have that colour. I had my nails done in this colour on the Magic in 2013.

This was not very good. The pork was rather dry and so was the rösti.

Unfortunately I have often experienced this with pork on the ships. More often than not it is dry and overcooked.

He seemed rather bored by the whole process though. Captain Fabian on the Wonder during the Panama Canal cruise was more “magical”.

Captain Fabian is in a different league. He and Captain Henry on the Dream are really personable and good fun. I don't think the rest of them are really that keen on mingling with the "cargo".

I've just caught up on the last few updates.
I really liked the look of San Juan, well at least the part you went to. So many interesting historic things to see, I loved the colourful old houses as well.
Not too sure about the blanket animals, that last one would probably scare a small child walking in to the room.
I love that they had a huge gingerbread house on the ship, it must be held together with extra strong frosting!

I am usually not a fan of French toast, but in this combination it really worked for me. We never had "Arme Ritter" (for the non-German-speakers: the German name for a similar dish, the name actually means poor knights) at home, but the savoury version of "Goldschnitten" (golden slices) which were served in a broth. Those I loved!

I have this same battle in the UK. I like my nails rounded, but if I do not watch the nail technician like a hawk, I end up with square nails.

Interesting!! I did not mind the square nails, mine are not that long anyway. But in general I prefer the round nails.

I am surprised that they did not have that colour. I had my nails done in this colour on the Magic in 2013.

They really had a very unimpressive collection! It seemed that they mainly had colours that would be good for French manicures.

Unfortunately I have often experienced this with pork on the ships. More often than not it is dry and overcooked.

I need to remember that. And thinking back, I think that this was true for my previous pork dishes too.

Captain Fabian is in a different league. He and Captain Henry on the Dream are really personable and good fun. I don't think the rest of them are really that keen on mingling with the "cargo".

Had to laugh at mingling with the cargo!! We will have Commodore Tom again for Norway, but I hope I get to meet Captain Henry one day!
