Has anyone had both? I had originally was looking forward to trying dinner here but their lunch menu with the lobster roll looks great. I don't think I would be able to order that at dinnertime even though it's a $30 sandwich.

We had dinner here last Wednesday or Thursday and it was good. Still barely been open so they are working the kinks out. But overall it was a good meal. A bit pricey on some items but hey, it's Disney I understand. We shared the Beach & Sea Lobster Bake and enjoyed everything on the plate.

We did not sit inside we ate out in the bar that is out over the water. It was a nice breezy evening and enjoyed sitting out there.

I bet you did. I am sitting here in Buffalo. It looks like Spring has finally arrived here, but just imagining sitting on the deck outside the Boathouse eating a lobster bake is making me freaking crazy.

I had lunch this weekend --- It was great. Service was excellent. I ordered the crab cake. Picture to follow. A little pricey but well worth it.

Do you think it will ever go to the dining plan or not? Just curious...going to eat there anyway when we go in October...

I thought lunch and dinner menus were the same....there's an outdoor bar menu that is different. But that they are all day menus. Anyone able to confirm?

Yes. There did not seem to be any difference from the lunch/dinner menus when we were there last week from what I could tell. Yes, there is an outdoor bar menu though it mostly has drinks on it best I can remember.

Since the OP mentioned the lobster roll, I looked up the menu online on their website (not the disney dining page).

I just looked at the boathouse's website and it has 2 different menus. One for outdoor dining and one for inside. The outdoor dining had the lobster roll, clam strips, burger, etc. The indoor menu didn't have the lobster roll, etc. I'd want to sit inside to look at all the cool decor but I like the outdoor menu better. Is the outdoor just bar or are there tables (we would have a 5 year old with us so can't sit at the bar to eat and the outdoor menu didn't list a kids menu section). I wonder if we can go inside to look around but then eat outside? Or can you get the outdoor menu inside? Prices seem the same as the restaurants here where we live in a tourist town in New England.

I hope not! The dining plan seems to be a plague on restaurants, it fills the seats but the cost seems to be the food quality.

I second the question about how kid friendly the bar area is, hoping to grab lunch here on our next trip.

This is the Menu I was given at Dockside Bar.

I ordered the Lobster Roll.

I could be wrong, but I have the feeling I could have ordered anything they were serving in the main restaurant.:)

Yup, confirmed last night with a manager that May 17th ADR's begin. They were not sure if it will be on MDE then or not and no other manager seemed to know either. Nor did they know anything about being a part of the dining plan at this time.

Also, there are tables at the Dockside Bar. They are high top tables with two bar chairs at each one. There looked to be around 10 or so of them around the perimeter of the area.

Now as far as the menus go ... There is a "smaller" portion menu you can order from though there is no difference from lunch to dinner at any location in the restaurant. Their full menu is available all day. The smaller portion items are called 'Beach Blanket Bingo'. Below is a picture of their full menu and the Beach Blanket Bingo section. And as WEDWDW posted they have the Dockside Dailies menu as well.

Awesome about the tables!

When I was there they didn't have any tables.

Did they put the tables along the "rail"-they had 2 chairs facing each other along the rail but no tables.:)

Yes. They put high tables along those rails where (when you went) was just bar chairs facing each other. The tables were there last night. Now I am not 100% sure if they are the "all" the time as they could move them based on occupancy, etc. But yeah, they are there :)
