I'm still around--I've been very distracted in the last week or so with various things and the Apple Watch launch. >.> (I think I probably mentioned in the top post that I'm an IT nerd.) But I'll need to refocus soon because my PIF / email-concierge dates are coming up very soon. Also, @cashe is sailing pretty soon so I'm sending her good vibes for her foot.

(May in general is looking extremely overscheduled for me. Argh! Too many things I want/need to do, not enough time. I'm hoping by June things will have calmed down and I can return to 24/7 CRUISE OBSESSION. Right now I'm barely getting on disboards once a day and I had to drop Cruise Critic all together.)

That's where it's from.

I started using it a while back when I was losing weight (since Perdita is the thin, sarcastic girl inside Agnes). Well and I love Terry Pratchett, RIP.

...aaaand PIF. (I've been stringing out payments for a while because of the way my travel rewards credit card works; more INDIVIDUAL transactions = more opportunities to redeem points at the highest point value.)

But anyway: PIF.

I will be super distracted most of this month, I think, but on the bright side that means by the time I come up for air I'll be close to < 100 days left.

Today I pre-emptively emailed shoreside concierge to inquire about the possible handling of a minor medical issue (I need access to a microwave for about 30 seconds a day). I haven't heard from them yet on that, but I just got a phone call from an unknown 407 number. Usually I don't answer unknowns, but then I went duh, 407=Orlando. It was a DCL concierge rep just welcoming me to DCL and letting me know requests could be given to them on the 12th and that I could start booking stuff next Sunday. I mentioned my email but he hadn't seen it/wasn't handling it, told me that probably someone had already grabbed it was awaiting confirmation from the actual ship-side concierge team.

When I hung up, I had an email similar to the phone call ("Welcome, here's what you can do"). I wasn't expecting the phone call. It's really nice that they are reaching out to this extent.

I also finally broke down and told my various colleagues/bosses that I would be gone that week and that it was nonrefundable. I was going to put this off as long as possible so they will let me continue not having an assistant as long as possible (I like working alone), but found out today we may be moving office spaces in fall, and I would have to be heavily involved in that ... so I had to fess up.

Things are moving forward!

...okay I just looked at my DCL app and it says 129 days, which is still way too long.

In ten days I'll know if my concierge requests have gone through, and I'll have more things to poke at on the website. And then it'll be a matter of getting through a long boring summer.

Just found your PTR/blog and am hooked. I love your writing style and research! My husband and I have no kids and were looking to do a cruise this year, considered Disney, but in the end picked another line. At any rate, we will be sailing in Sept too, so I love reading what you are finding (like that locking bag... who knew!?). It's a lot of help!

Email request to concierge sent promptly at midnight like a good little DISboarder.

Requests were:

--SB cabana
--Palo dinner on Pirate night
--Palo brunch
--ERAA rotation
--Lounge chairs for the bump out verandah (I've read conflicting info on whether this is doable.)

Obviously the only one I'm antsy about is the cabana. Fingers crossed.

And now we're at 125 days.

Heard back, they've confirmed my requests with the usual caveats about cabanas. Will find out how it all plays out on Sunday.

And then I just have to get through FOUR MONTHS.

So this is probably a stupid question, but is ERAA rotation your dinner/restaurants? Is that enchanted garden/royal palace and 2 nights at animators palate? Also, do you know which night is your pirate night? If you do, where did you find that out?

Correct on the rotation.

I'm typing with my thumbs, but if you click on the "my cruise activities" link from the drop down menu at the TOP RIGHT of the Disney cruise page it should show you a list of days for your cruise, and there should be a few activities listed including pirate night. But you have to click from the right place or it takes you to the page saying your check in date. Let me know if this makes sense or works for you, if not I have more specific instructions written down somewhere, I think in the 9/14/2015 meet thread a page or two back.

It worked for me before I was PIF, like six weeks ago. IIRC your cruise is actually before mine, too.

It worked! And our pirate night is already listed--yay! We are actually getting on when you get off (we're the week after). Did you know that they are starting Halloween parties the week of sept 7. There should be a party one night during your trip.

I heard that the Halloween stuff was released to travel agencies, I don't think the Disney site updated yet. Maybe when it does we'll see the Halloween events show up.

Ok, the site is now live for me. It looks like I got my SB cabana booking request, but my adult dining rezzes all show just me, not the BF, as attending. I suppose I'll have a look at it tomorrow and email as needed.
