Free Dining Fall 2015? (and a whole lot more)

My TA told me that she will be calling when the offer is available, and plans to be on hold for 2-3 hours. Once she can finally talk to a CM, she will make all her changes, but they will only let her be on with them for a limited amount of time. Hopefully, our reservation will qualify, but I'm doubtful as it's in the middle of Oct...but we are going either way as we already have our airfare booked.

This is not correct. TAs can modify an existing reservation online for the new promo and also book new reservations.

I had a travel agent for our last free dining promo, and she had a special TA number. Guess what? She had to wait hours and hours on hold. As I watched people calling on their own and snagging reservations one after another. I was so scared!!! The ending was happy though, she still got what we wanted even after all my sweating.

Mid April, Disney updated their site for TA so we can now modify our clients reservations without having to call. Your TA should be able to do the same.

They just changed the system so we can modify online instead of waiting on hold. I love it! (TA)

Now to see if the IT team did a great job setting up the system so it won't crash on that morning.

Not sure, but if adding free dining is like making a new reservation - is this why some reported "loosing" their dining reservations? If their current dining package is linked to their reservation? Hope this question makes sense...

Doubtful. Dining reservations aren't attached to resort numbers.

Your question does make sense, and would make perfect sense if the rumor of having to cancel your existing reservation was correct. But....since the rumor is incorrect, the answer is you will not lose your dining reservations if you are already booked and have a Confirmation #. You will still have the same confirmation # when you modify your reservation and add this promotion.

Ill be interested to see how the systems hold up if everyone jumps on to modify reservations.

Will TAs be able to modify for a Visa offer since it's not available online to the commoners?

I used one 2 years ago when Be our Guest had the soft opening. It was the first day that ANYONE can call to make an ADR so even the people checking in +10 days before us didn't have an advantage over us so I thought we had a chance. Well, she decided to do a few things around the house that day before calling late morning! I was fuming because I would've been on the phone at 6:45 starting to dial. From that day on I trust myself more than a TA.

Same thing happened to me..with my resort reservation. Had to wait for my TA to return from lunch, then she was in a meeting, then went home before calling me back etc.. I finally asked for a supervisor, then it was too late. I had to change resorts to get any promo. But, I went one step beyond you calling at 6:45...I became a TA and now have access 24/7 !! Yes, Im crazy :)

They should so long as the person booked with a Disney Visa.

TAs can modify for Visa offers, but they still need to call. The new online modifications don't include the ability to modify them that way (yet, I hope!!).

Im 99.9999999% sure TAs can. Dont quote me! Like I said in a previous post, Disney only gave TAs availability to modify a reservation online a couple of weeks ago (maybe in prep for this huge promo??). Before, we'd have to call it in. I have already modified clients into the summer promo online, but it was not DVC exclusive.

Did you get the Email Friday from "News" reminding us again how to modify? Coincidence, or planned ? !!!

I'll be interested to find out.

I think this is the first promo that'll come out where anyone can modify online at the time do release? It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

If this promotion was going to start tomorrow, shouldn't the Disney Visa card holder or even GP, would be notified by now of the upcoming promotion? I never made ressies in this early stage of planning before for FD, but i would think they would let you know of the dates ahead of time before calling to make ressies...no??

Just pressed the "new" modify button on my reservations that was not there the other day and I want to know if I need to hit the button check "vacation offers" or hit "add" under dining plan? I want to be ready for this and have no time to lose (I don't have a DV so I actually have 2 days to lose. LOL)

If they do have fd available for dv holders tomorrow what time would it start?

It would start at 7am.
You would hit "vacation offers" to modify. I just tried doing it and it said "no offers available at this time".
