We've got Deluxe APs but we're out of DVC points! A year of Disneyland trips- updated 6/27!

A nice day at DCA while riding CS. I can understand that you want to ride RSR at night. Sorry to hear that TSMM was down that morning. Very nice pics on CS.

It looks like you got a great start to the morning despite TSMM being down

Is Mickey's wheel of death really THAT terrifying?

Only if you ride in the swinging cars. Otherwise it is a nice calm ride with a good overview of the parks.

Chloe's shirt is so cute.

California Screaming looks like such a great ride.

Is Mickey's wheel of death really THAT terrifying?

Oh - to see Oswald in the park must be SO cool!

Chloe has so many cute Disney shirts! I have one ratholed away for my trip this Thursday! :woohoo: I woke up and realized it's only 4 days away.

Screamin' is a blast. Have you not been on it?

::yes:: I think so. I have PTSD from the swinging cars so I am unwilling to try the non-seining cars. ;)

He was so cool. Next time, I am taking a proper photo!

TSMM has been a bust at opening on 2/3 of our last trips. Might have to adjust our rope drop plans.

It was a great morning!

Gabby, Michael, and Chloe split to ride ToT while Joshua and I went to Carsland. Joshua really doesn't enjoy ToT and while I like it, I like spending time with him more than riding it multiple times. At almost 14 y/o, he is still my buddy. :lovestruc

I still hadn't given up hope that TSMM would open up soon.

Here are a few cute pics from Carsland. Sweet kid always indulges me.

After the others rode ToT, our RSR FPs window was open. On the way Michael grabbed 5 more.

The FP wasn't too bad and I think stand by was already over 60 minutes. I just couldn't wait that long when single rider and FP are options.

We needed a little snack after RSR so we grabbed a few Cozy Cones to share. What's left of one of the chicken chili verde cones. :lmao: Its one of our favorites. And a decent price too.

It had warmed up quite a bit even though it wasn't totally sunny. It was time for a spin on Grizzly River Run. Our timing was perfect because we got a chance to meet one of our favorite mutts on the way! As a Family UP is one of our favorite movies. :cloud9:

Grizzly was a blast as usual. Joshua got soaked. The rest of us did ok.

Hunger had set in so we headed to the Wharf where the kids chose Chinese and Michael and I shared a broccoli cheese soup bread bowl and this gorgeous croissant. I can report it tasted as good as it looked. Some of Disney's pastries fail miserably but this didn't disappoint.

After lunch we hightailed back to TSMM and yay it was open...with a 45 minute standby. I gave them no option. ;)

Sadly my gun was stuck so when we departed the ride, I told a CM and they gave us 5 FPs for TSMM for anytime that day. SCORE!

The parks were getting quite crowded and everyone wanted a break however our Chloe is a HUGE Kingdom Keeper's book fan so we checked out Off The Page before we left so we could buy the new one but they were out. They called around and Disneyana had it so while the others waited Chloe and I booked it (get it :lmao:) over to Disneyland to grab her copy. The book was released just a few days prior. She was elated to get her book inside Disneyland. If you are familiar with the series, they take place inside various Disney parks. So fun!

Random shot on the way to Off The Page:

Quickie pic of the Disneyland RR heading in:

The Disneyland Band!

One happy girl! :lovestruc

To be continued.....

I just love DCA. Too bad about TSMM being down but yay for the extra FPs later! I;m glad Chloe got her book!

Of course we had some targets to shoot so no stopping for my buddy Oswald:

Was this just that morning that Oswald was more out in the open? When I was there in November, he was hidden away near the Chambers of Commerce.

We got to TSMM and guess what? It was down. :sad1: It remained down for an hour and then some.

I have noticed that this seems to be breaking down rather a lot

We went on Screamin'. Twice.

I still have to get the courage up to actually try that one.

That is definitely a score.

I can understand this and it is very fitting that she got this book at Disneyland. Has she got the latest one yet. I could not believe my luck when two came out within the space of a month.

I read the first few books I the series. Loren and I both did. For some reason we stopped. I'm not sure why.

Such cute family photos, it's so great that you make them pose for them, you'll be happy you have those family photos later in life!

Score on the TSMM FPs!

Love the Chicken Chile Verde Cone too!

That's so cool that Chloe got her book in the park! I've never read them, but I know that a lot of people really them.

Jenny has PTSD from the swinging cars? What? :faint: Do you get to pick which type of car you get or is it totally random?

TSM looks like such a cute ride at DL. Yay for getting FPS for all five of you, but you totally deserved it with a non-functioning gun.

The Grizzly River Run looks like its really a legit rafting ride. I always feel like Kali River Rapids leaves so much to be desired.

Amen to the single rider line! :worship:

More fun family pictures.

There are two separate queues, so you know which ones you are lining up for.

We timed it right to see Wishes while on Splash Mountain at WDW last fall. Definitely a special experience. Although I am looking off in the distance on the ride photo.

I have been burned more times with TSM being down at opening than RSR. But they both seem to be the tempermental ones. Because they are the newest and most complicated? I hate racing all the way over to Paradise Pier and then finding out TSM is closed. I wish they would make an announcement at opening, but I suppose they don't so the crowds will disperse more.

Very nice pictures in DCA that afternoon.

That is great that you were able to get some extra FP's when you rode TSMM after the gun didn't work.

The Chicken Chili Verde looks great but I always enjoy the Chili Cone Verde.

That is great of Chloe to get her book at DL when it just came out a few days ago.

CAtching up!
I'm so behind with all my threads right now.

You've got so many updates done that it's going to be too hard for me to comment on everything. But it looks like you and the family had fun!!!

Speaking of fun.....have a great trip to the 50th birthday celebrations. I know you'll have heaps of fun.

She is just finishing the bridge book. She will get the next one soon.

Love that Disney always makes it right.

Grizzly River is legit. Kali is a like a drench bath to me.

I am going to have to try it while on Splash!!!! Too fun!

I have been burned twice by that. The TSMM line gets so long so it's hard not to at least try.

Glad you are caught up. I am laways behind. :faint:

Hoping to have another update before I leave Thursday. :woohoo:

Hi lady :wave2: sorry I missed your question this weekend, I didn't get online at all, super busy weekend. And then with all this stuff in Baltimore I'm just catching up on things.

Fabulous updates!!! Bummer about TSM being down so long. And then to have the gun not work :faint: that was great they gave you FPs for later.

I didn't do Grizzly River Run when I was there. And I can't believe it'll be two years since I went by the time I go again.

LIghtning McQueen in the flesh! too cool!!!

That was so nice of them to check if any of the stores had Chloe's book. I haven't read the series but I've heard nothing but good things.

Are you near the riots? :( I remember living in Long Beach during the Rodney King riots. Holy moly it was a sight to see. I remember having 10 pm curfews. And keg riot parties. Hey, we were young. In retrospect there wasn't anything funny about it but at the time there wasn't social media like there is now. I think the devastation was watered down.

Lightening McQueen was SO cool!!! I just love that area and how amazing the theme is.

We have to do Grizzly River Run in October!!! :woohoo: I wish you were joining us this weekend.

I was hoping to have an update tonight but it doesn't look hopeful. Its going to be a fun and busy weekend. I packed very lightly and though it was going to all fit in a carry on when I realized my hair products are more than 3 oz each. I cannot go without them so I had to pay the $25 to Delta. Jet Blue allows a free bag so I will be ok on the ok way.

I will try to post pics here but there will be a ton live shots on Instagram, FB, and Twitter. :goodvibes

I remember that too! It happened on my birthday and I was having a party, I was afraid that no one would show up because of the curfews, but we were out in the Valley and we partied like college kids! That was a scary time. My work let us go early once the riots broke out and we sat glued to the TV. Unfortunately we ended up seeing that poor truck driver Reginald Denny get beaten to a vegetable. It was sad. :sad2:

I could always Fed Ex them home to you. It might a couple days, but you probably couldn't live without them for that long.
