DVC announced a Polynesian Villas & Bungalows webcast

Disney has been running Google ads all week for the public webcast.

Are they offering some print like they have in the past or is this just a "please watch our webcast"?

No print from what I can see, but you will be entered for a chance to win a 5-night stay in one of the bungalows.
 
Members are entering to win a 5 night stay in a bungalow and non-members are entering to win 3 years of points at The Polynesian. 160 points a year. i want to win the non-member prize dang it !
 
Ok, I just want to know... WHY do they insist on making these scheduled things? Why can't I just log on sometime and watch? They did that with the VGF thing and it errored out and had all kinds of issues, and then I never got my lithograph which greatly irritated me. I hate having to schedule things. And somehow I still like FP+

When I registered I had to pick a day, but no specific times were given. So apparently you can watch the webcast any time on the day you choose.

The purpose of the webcast is to sell so they need to know how many ASA's and Guides to have standing buy to answer questions and to process sales.

I got something in the mail yesterday in regards to this. I had no clue that there was going to be a webcast so this morning I went on the link that was provided and signed up to watch next Saturday. I am going to make DH watch it too because I am seriously considering staying there for our June 2016 trip (in a studio...not enough points to stay in the bungalows). Can't wait to watch :goodvibes.

I agree with Bill.

Common DVD sales tactics (which millions of businesses also use)
  • Drawing for those who watch webcast is an incentive to make sure people watch. (See publisher's clearing house success over the years for why this works)
  • In the past they sometimes offer pricing discounts to convince people to buy. Those pricing discounts are only for those who watch and they expire within __ days to encourage people to buy. (This is much like a store having their "best sale of the year" this weekend only).
  • They also sometimes announce upcoming price increases as encouragement for people to buy at today's price.

For sure -- I've listened to a couple of these. There's always a sales pitch with a discounted rate, prior to a price increase.
 
Webcasts start tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing more of the resort in a single video.
 
Did anyone else watch this yet? We watched it this AM. It was very similar to promo videos we have seen at the member gatherings on the cruise ships. And now we are entered to win the 5 night bungalow stay!

The only deal offered was for Aulani: add on 100 pts, get 100 one-time use pts.
 
We watched it this morning. No discount offers for PVB. Just the sweepstakes as mentioned by chirogrrl. The Aulani offer sounds like what they have been offering for Aulani for a number of months.

I signed up a week ago and picked today (Sat 4/25) as my day to watch the presentation. I got a reminder email this morning that stated "Watch our special, on-demand webcast now, or anytime you'd like, until May 3." So for those who don't like having a scheduled time, they do give you several days to log in and watch the video at your convenience.

I can't remember when the sweepstakes entry period ends so those who picked a date several days from now might not have as many days to watch as those who signed up to watch on the first available date.

The video lasts about 25 minutes.
