Why don't APH discounted rooms count toward your Loews First account?

hotel chains all have some type of reward/loyalty program.
companies try to entice the public to book with them and join their reward program.
in return, perks from the hotel chain can be gained by frequent stays.

3 rd party vendors aren't included in many of the hotel loyalty programs.

i have cards for 3 different hotel companies and earn perks at all of them when my stays are with them.

sometimes you have to decide if you want a cheaper hotel rate or points toward your hotel club status.

i always go for the loyalty programs in order to keep the status i have with a hotel chain.
i get more out of it then instead of saving a % of the going rate at time of booking.

I still don't get it, really. I booked through Loew's directly at a rate they offer, yet, get no loyalty points for staying with them?

I always book through Loews and get the points. IMHO ther loyalty part of their site is garbage. It still has me as gold status even though I'm platinum. It also lists all my stats as non qualifying. Just call them, I'm sure the will give you the answer you are looking for.

call the youfirst desk at loews, number is on their website, and talk to the person there.

i book with aph many times and i always have to call inform them that the credit booked stay is not reflected on my loews site.

they ususally tell me they can see i have it as qualified on their end even though it doesn't reflect it on the site i view.

it never fails each time i book.
so it is not unusal to have this happen.

call and they let you know of it being a qualified rate.
as long as you don't use a 3rd party vendor on the booking, you will get your stay credited.

So, maybe my stay was qualifying? Thanks for that....I'll call and ask when I book our next stay.

You are good to go OP. Like I said, their website is um...lacking.

So...I'm curious.. I have a deluxe 2 queen (upgraded due to platinum status) boxed the for 8 nights starting memorial day at PBR. I'm not real happy we won't have a mini fridge and that the upgrade at RPR is only to a king suite. I will, off and on, have up to 5 in the room. No Portofino suites have shown as available for a while. In fact, I can rarely find one using all kinds of off peak dates. Has anyone had success getting a mini fridge at no cost?

well, your 2 Q deluxe will hold 5.
you already are aware the king suite/rpr is for 3.

either way, you still come out ahead.
pay for the standard room and get the upgrade free.

if you inform reservations you have a medical need and have to have a fridge, you'll get it free.
only other way is to pay the $15 per night for one in your room.

They need to offer platnium more options for upgraded suites. At PBH there is only 12 portofino parlor suites. I'm glad we are a family of three for the king suite.

We had a baby with us and got the fridge for free since the baby food needed to be cold.

I would like to thank everyone for the information in this thread! I noticed my 2 previous stays at not been credited and I just kept thinking "they'll show up eventually"... macraven - thanks to your post, I called the YouFirst Desk earlier today and spoke to a very helpful, friendly rep who said with all of the various discounts at the Loews properties at Universal, their system just doesn't recognize most of them and therefore, stays don't get credited automatically. She added my 2 previous stays manually and moments later, they were showing up on my account.

So bottom line, if you are missing a stay credit, call! :)

i'm glad you called and it was taken care of.

i always have to call as my bookings get caught up in that glitch.

some people never have the issues like i encounter or what you have gone through

i guess we are just special........

HAHAHAHA... yes, "special"... I always say, if there is going to be a problem, I'll be at the top of the list. Proverbial problem child. I was just thrilled I received the credit. Now, I am "blue", maybe by year's end, I'll be gold. Here's hoping! Trying to figure out if I can squeeze in a trip for HHN before returning in December. I really want to do a VIP/RIP house tour. I need to start studying the in's & out's of HHN!

i love the rip hhn tours!
i started out in 2003 and did the public tours of rip hhn for a couple of years then switched to the rip private hhn tours.

it is a fantastic way to do the hhn event.
if you only have one night, you will cover it all with a tour and have some free time left over (especially if you do the tour on a peak night).

after your two onsite stays at rpr or pbr, you will be at the blue level.
if you stay 5 or more nights, you get 2 credits for the stay.
you'll climb that later real soon and be a goldie then.

I know 3rd party site reservations don't earn rewards, but can you use your YouFirst status to request an upgrade at time of check-in if you book 3rd party?

Nope because the price is third party. No You First benefit apply. No free upgraded wifi, no welcome gift, not resort credit, etc. this is why I never book 3 rd party.

if you choose to book to comply with the YouFirst program, you get all the benefits.

book with 3rd party vendor, no perks allowed.

perks are based on your booking w/Loews.

Yes, usually they give us a complimentary fridge at the desk when I mention we're Loews YouFirst members. We usually go at slower times so they may not have one available during your stay, but it doesn't hurt to ask.
