Just a note regarding the purchase of discounted GET Sports Travel park tickets. They must be pre-purchased prior to arrival. The booth at the expo will be dedicated to pre-purchase ticket pick up only. No onsite sales available. Definitely a change from past practice.

I hadn't started looking at ticket pricing yet, but since your post prompted me, HERE is a link to the GET Sports ticket options. We'll be trying to squeeze parks in for the 5 days that we're there, and we'll probably opt for park hopper since it's so convenient to split a day by just walking 1 minute across the esplanade. GET Sports' 5-day hopper is $70 less than the Disneyland regular gate price for a hopper and $30 less than the Disneyland regular gate price for 1 park per day. Not too shabby!

Woo Hoo! Full Marathon:smickey: Dumbo Challenge:dumbo: and now the Infinity Gauntlet Challenge! I have convinced my husband to start run/walk/run too so we're doing the IGC together. I'm totally bummed that the kids races sold out so quick! Our kids loved running at WDW :earsgirl::earsboy: Does anyone know if kids races bib's are available anywhwere- similar to charity for the other races?

I will be doing my first ever 5K and am so excited! Not going to lie though - fully half the reason I'm doing it is for the the characters who will be on the course :ccat:

Still stuck at 72% for the half marathon with only a couple days until the price jumps to the second tier. There aren't too many events that have gotten out of the first tier the past couple years.

It's very strange, I guess everyone who specifically wanted to run booked in the first day or so, which makes sense given last years sell out rate.

I fully expect it to start going again by the end of the week though, otherwise the new movie isn't doing its job.

So crazy! I know DLH sold out within 24 hours (yeah, it's an anniversary) - but with the theme, I never would've guessed that the half would've lasted this long.

I agree that it is a little odd that the half marathon hasn't sold out yet. At the same time some fans have been complaining that things sell out too fast... So maybe its nice that everyone has had plenty of time to jump in on this one. I think the majority of people going for the half wanted to be the challenge too, so I think that has made a difference.

Also keep in mind the percentages on the runDisney website aren't hooked up "live". The first day runDisney is good about updating them every 15 minutes for the first few hours, then hourly for the first day. (Of course during the registration some things were stuck at 0% for a long time so clearly they weren't updating those) Then after that the numbers have only been changing first thing in the morning for the first week. No updates over the weekend. And now I think they are only updating when things sell out or if there is a pretty big change. Also I don't believe the numbers are always "exact", far too often the percentages land on a 5 or 0 (like 80% for a few days or 55%). If they were hooked up live we would see more random numbers (like 52%) and more incremental increases throughout the day. For example do we really think that the three remaining options for the DL Half weekend (Pasta party, Cheer Squad, and Anniversary party) haven't moved 1% over the past 2 months?

In saying that I'm just not sure if the half marathon is still as "low" as it seems.

I think part of the problem is that they have had so many registrations very close together lately...lots of people probably picked one or two to sign up for before Avengers opened, or are waiting to sign up for Marathon Weekend, so Avengers is filling relatively slowly...maybe??

@EDS19 Yeah, outside of registration day they don't seem to check update it regularly unless there is movement worth noting (not 1-5% probably). But they typically leverage those noteworthy movements to for the "don't miss out!" sales pitch, so even if it's not exactly 72%, it probably isn't 85-90% either.

@Ariel484 Could be. Runners who like the challenges and missed out on the IGC could be waiting to see if they can get into Dopey/Goofy or the Rebel Challenge instead (another couple months). Not to mention anyone saving up for a run at the inaugural Disneyland Paris run, which might make it interesting to see if sales are slower for Marathon Weekend next week.

I completely agree with this. I think a lot of people have finally hit their breaking point with the cost of RunDisney races and are overwhelmed with all of the registrations happening at once. They are only picking the races they really want to do. The DL Half is a big draw with the 10th anniversary, and it's only a few months before Avengers. Then you have Wine & Dine which is always popular. I think that's the preferred C2C combination this year for a lot of people.

That's true, I forgot about Paris. I could see people who normally do multiple rD races each year pulling back this time to try to start to save for Paris.

Yeah, I mean, even if they spaced them out by a month or so, I feel like more people would probably sign up. They'd get paid again in between and forget the hit their wallet just took. ;)

I'm pretty surprised that there are still early spots open for the WDW Half marathon (it's currently 64% full after 1 week of early registration)...I feel like that one used to go more quickly. I'll be curious to see what happens with Star Wars/Princess Half registrations, which start in June - so there will be a break in registration. :confused3

Firmly into the second tier of pricing now for the half with the site still showing 72% anyway. Less than two weeks until price moves into the third tier. . . :scratchin

Hope everyone has enjoyed the Avengers movie this weekend!
I thought it was awesome and it made me get even more excited for the race!

I'm really hoping we see some more Avengers at the races this year!
Scarlet Witch, Quick Silver, Vision, Falcon... I'd be great with any of them...
It would even be fun to have Peggy Carter at the Captain America 10k

It was a great movie! I'm surprised the percentage for the half hasn't increased yet!
I can tell you, I really want an Infinity Gauntlet after seeing the movie! Thankfully, I'm signed up for the challenge so I'll be on my way to obtaining!

We'll have to get out to the movie sometime this week or the upcoming weekend, since we were busy with EEC this past weekend. It sounds like the movie is a blast, though!

Half is still posted at 72% capacity today, with the price increasing to $230 after midnight. Maybe runDisney has really let it slide on updating the numbers, but it'll be really surprising if it makes it to the last tier at under 80% capacity. Thinking they won't sell it out if they hit that price point with so many slots left open.

FYI.... you can now submit your proof of time

Thanks, managed to put mine in. Not sure what they formula they are using, but they have given me a new estimated finish time that is over 5 minutes quicker than my half PR
