4 Planned FastPass+ Test Happening Now!!

As requested I will try to post an update on our trip this week Easter 2015.
I did start one yesterday with our AK experience.

Now the bad part. Never offered 4 passes. At 10:30 this am I heard most were gone for MK.
We were there at 6:30 this am by 9:30 many waits SB already over an hour.

At night since no EMH it is fast passes till the end. No benefits to staying on site for late nights.

Speaking of the hours if Disney hotels are at 95% capacity which I heard is the case this week they need longer hours other places besides MK. Disney knows this if they want to keep people happy they should keep open Something after 9 or 9:30 besides MK.

Yes we knew it would be busy. Did this 3 years ago & what a difference. I feel bad for the cast members. You can tell they are not happy campers. Never before have I heard so many out and out say "I don't make any money don't Mess with me" or heard them talking so much among themselves.

This is the negative. There is positive & we still love Disney. We probably will continue going to Disneyland till this whole fast pass plus thing gets worked out & won't come at Easter week again. If you have littke kids especially non school kids save yourself some headache pick another time.

Hope the info is helpful.

"Most" aren't gone as of right now for up to 4 people. I seriously doubt they were at 10:30 this morning either. But it is an extremely busy time to visit, I would expect to see limited availability.

If you heard CM's telling guests not to bother them or discussing their wages with guests, you should take names and report them to guest services. Better yet, I'd walk up to said cast member and ask that they bring a supervisor to me on the spot. This may well be the first time I've ever heard a report of a cast member telling a guest not to bother them.

Epcot is open later than 9 every night this week. Plus Disney is offering Extra Magic Hours every day this week. Maybe you need to recheck the park hours, it sounds as if you are working off of an old calender.

In anticipation of our trip (arriving this Saturday) I have been keeping an eye on the wait times at MK as posted on MDE and Touring Plans (they always seem to be the same so it appears they come from the same source).

I have been especially looking at wait times at 10 AM because our usual plan is to take advantage of the 7 AM EMH and do as many of the major attractions as possible before lines get too long. Here are the wait times I saw today at 10 AM; they have been essentially the same each of the last 3 days, each of which had 7 AM EMH:

Mine train 90
Space Mountain 80 (it was reported closed at 8:30)
Peter Pan 60
Splash Mountain 40
Big Thunder 35
Under the Sea 35
Jungle Cruise 30
Speedway 30
Pooh 30
Barnstormer 25
Buzz 20
Dumbo 20
Small World 20
Magic Carpets 20
Haunted Mansion 15
Pirates 15
Teacups 10

These wait times are encouraging to me because they are not out of line with what we are used to seeing during the busy holiday times. They tell me that it's reasonable to follow our usual 7 AM EMH approach and do all of the major attractions that we want to do without FPs and without waiting too long for anything.

In the past, we usually started at Space, but on Sunday we will probably start at 7DMT because it wasn't open when my daughters visited during their spring break last year. So, this year the rough plan will be:

7-8 AM 7DMT, Space, Buzz, PP (hoping for a posted wait time of about 20 minutes so we can see the new queue). My experience with 2 8 AM EMH's at MK last summer and fall tells me that if we are ready to enter right at 7, we will get on the mine train with little wait and the wait at Space will be very short if we go there second. If anything, 7 AM EMH usually has fewer people than 8 AM EMH, even if the day with a 7 AM EMH will eventually have a bigger crowd.
8-9 AM BTMRR and Splash.
9-10 AM POC, Jungle Cruise, then back to HM.

Based on the 10 AM wait times and the shorter ones I have seen before then, this should be very doable without rushing at all. If we run into a snag, like a ride being down or a longer that expected wait at one attraction, we will move on and enjoy the skipped attraction later in the week. We have 3 days of FPs at MK on 2 evenings and morning of our departure day, and probably a second AM EMH later in the week, to cover things we miss and to do second or third rides on some of our favorites.

After we enjoy the 8 headliners listed above, we might still have time for another one or two lesser attractions before our lunch at 11 AM (one of our 2 ADRs for the week). If we want to do anything else at MK after lunch and the FOF parade at noon we will try a few of the anytime attractions before heading over to DAK, where we have our FPs waiting for us.

Well now we know what the wait times were at 10am on a Wednesday for MK. How are the other parks looking?

I listed the wait times for the MK at 10 AM today because a previous poster had said

We were there at 6:30 this am by 9:30 many waits SB already over an hour.

I am not in the park today, but, unless the posted wait times reported on Touring Plans are a lot different than the ones showing in the park, there were not "many" waits of over an hour at 10 AM. There were only 3 at an hour or longer at 10 AM.

According to Touring Plans, today was predicted to be a crowd level 10 both for the resort as a whole and at each of the 4 parks. Yesterday was listed as crowd level 10 at both MK and Epcot. So, no I don't think today's wait times are typical of what we'll be seeing over the summer. They are typical of what to expect on the absolutely most busy days of the year, and today is one of those days.

Oh, okay. So they said at 9:30am many waits were over an hour and you checked at 10am and found some were less. I don't think they are exaggerating, it's highly likely the wait times they saw posted were what they said they were, and then they were updated 30 or more minutes later to what those of us not in the parks can see.

In fact, when I first looked several of them were higher than what I posted. By the time I went back to cut & paste them, some had gone down.

Easywdw has today at a "9" - and they have many days in June/July at 8's and 9's as well. So like you, I'm trying to get a feel for what it's going to be like this summer.

Honestly not sure why I am bothering to post. Is anyone else actually here today who is saying I am wrong?
Alfalfa thanks for confirming many rides were over an hour. Not all rides but most you want to ride.
Epcot open till 9 yesterday. I was there was the poster there?
March 30th - April 2nd. Looking at their Times Guide in front of me. They are not open past 9 till Friday April 3rd.
Really I don't need to post was just trying to help.
I am new to this forum and honestly done with it all.
Not a very Magical place.

If anyone that is actually here right now thinks differently I totally understand. If you aren't not sure how you can say I am completely wrong.

EasyWDW has exactly 5 days over the summer listed as a 9, and that's including 4th of July.

Thanks, that's what I said: "Easywdw has today at a "9" - and they have many days in June/July at 8's and 9's as well."

How much difference is there between an 8 and a 9?

Thanks for taking the time to report your experience. Hopefully this will not scare you off from contributing here in the future.

If you are going to stick around here, I highly recommend the Ignore function. You can either click on your name in the upper right hand corner and manually add a name under "People to Ignore" Or you can click on a user's name, it will create a little pop-up and you can just hit ignore.

Is there a different calendar to check other than the one on Disney's web site? I just checked there and it shows Epcot isn't open later than 9 today or tomorrow, Friday has the normal EMH until 11p then it's back to 9p on Saturday.

Yes, that is what I am seeing as well on the disneyworld.com website. 9-9 until Friday with the EMH at night

I wouldn't give up on this forum! You've just hit upon a sore subject here for some people. There's still a lot of great stuff on this forum and it's petty fun once you get away from discussing certain topics! :)

Not sure what you mean by "not all rides but most you want to ride". If you could expand on that, I think that would be a huge help. Otherwise, we're left to infer.

No, we may not be in the park today, but a number of us do subscribe to Lines, a Touring Plans app which also has a neat feature where users submit their actual wait times. The user submitted wait times that are available for 9:30 am are much less than what you reported.

I've often wondered about that - the wait times they report are submitted by volunteers? So a volunteer reports at 9:30am that they waited in line for 45 minutes. Which means they got in line at 8:45am. But the posted wait time at 9:30am could be 60 minutes and could actually be correct for anyone who gets in line at 9:30? And that could have been what OP saw and reported?

I think these wait times are a lot like taking a picture of highway traffic. One picture can show very few cars and another picture taken minutes later can show bumper to bumper traffic. Both pictures were correct at the time they were taken.

Not sure I'm seeing the problem here. A PP poster made a very general comment about "many" rides having standby waits over an hour at 9:30 AM and I tried to add more detail to that by listing wait times at 10 AM and offering some advice about how someone can enjoy a lot of major attractions on the busiest days of the year.

If someone is going to use indefinite terms like "many" and "most you want to ride" I think it helps to provide more detail. I can only speak for myself, but when I look at those 10 AM wait times there are a lot of things we like to ride with waits well below an hour, and the ones with the longer waits are ones we enjoy when waits are much lower or with FPs.
