Just a quick placeholder for now so we can get to know our fellow cruisers and share planning information.

We transferred our OBB to this itinerary to lock in opening day prices but are still holding out for potential Hawaii sailings to be released for late September 2016 (assuming Wonder doesn't go into dry dock after Alaska).

We're a family of 3 with a daughter who will be 5 at the time of sailing. We booked an inside room on deck 7. We've done both inside and verandah and have found we're perfectly happy with either.

This will be our 4th Disney Cruise (Alaska last August on the Wonder which was one of our favorite vacations, 5 night Western Carribean on the Wonder in Feb 2015 and planned 7 night Mediterranean on the Magic in late Aug 2015).

Looks like we'll be treated to nearly 18 hours of daylight during this cruise. The sun rises around 4:30am local time and sets around 10:30pm!

I'll update this post with additional information as others join.

I look forward to getting to know everyone.

I am just awaiting DHs approval on this itinerary but I'm fairly confident we will be on this sailing. We live in England and I am really excited at the prospect of boarding a Disney ship in the English Channel. We will be getting a ferry from Dover in May on our way to Disneyland Paris and we have caught a ferry from there a few times so I may be able to help with any Questions on the area.

This will be our 4th Disney Cruise too - our first was Eastern Caribbean which got us hooked, then a 4 night Med (which wasn't anywhere near long enough) and we have the EastBound Panama Canal later this year. We will be staying Deck 2 Aft in an outside room - tried inside and it wasn't for us and figured we could go without the verandah as it will be cooler and will probably spend less time in the room as it's quite port intensive.

I am also trying to persuade my cousins (family of 4) to join us. We really love spending time with them and we would really love to cruise with them so fingers crossed.

Looking forward to meeting you all and counting down the days

Hi Everyone!
I am so excited to be on this cruise! It will be me (Lynn) DH (David) and DD (Jennifer - 22 at sailing). We have a room on Deck 6 Aft with a Verandah. We had one for our Alaskan cruise and loved it! I just bundle up and watch the beautiful mountains and water! I saw all kinds of animals from my verandah when we went to Alaska! Whales, Sea Lions - tons of things! I just love going out there after dinner with the late night sun. This will be our 4th cruise - We (DH and myself) are doing a Member's Cruise in Aug. I told DH after this cruise we will have done 3 of the 4 ships - So now we need to do a cruise on the Fantasy!
I have already started looking at Port Adventures / researching Norway.
If you have not seen it - there is a thread on Norway - if you can't find it let me know and I will post it - it has tons of helpful information. I believe it was started last year for the Norway cruises.
I am thinking we will do a couple of days pre cruise in England. I have never been and have always wanted to go. DH wants to go to Abbey Road - of all the things to do in England - Abby Road ? Really? I think I could pass on that - I would rather see more historic sites and I want to see a real castle. Has anyone thought about what they are going to do or where they are going to stay pre cruise?
I am happy to chat with you all.:flower1:

Welcome Lynn and Shell!!

I found the Norway thread Lynn recommended and included in the second post above. I'll try to keep that up to date with info and future fish extender information.

Will write more when not on my phone.

Hey!
I wanted to wish you a Happy Easter! I hope you all are doing well. I have been doing a ton of research on Norway! The more I look the more I find - the more excited I get. Let me know how your planning is coming along!
Lynn

Hi all. Literally just booked this cruise! Its in May half term, so perfect for us. There is me, DS who will be 18 by then (and gutted as he will finally be too old for Vibe) and DD who will be 17. This will be our 5th cruise, possibly 6th as we are hoping to do one this summer in Florida if the rate drops enough when the IGTs come out.

Look forward to getting to know people on here.

There is a very very small chance we might have to cancel - I'm having major surgery this summer which could have a lot of complications (I'm hoping not), but the bonus of this cruise is being from England we don't have to worry about flights etc, so hopefully all will be ok.

Excited!!

Welcome! I do hope you get to do this cruise! I take it you live in England? I am very excited that I get to go to England! I really want to squeeze in a couple of days to see a few things before the cruise! I know I won't have enough time to see everything - but would like 2-3 days to see some of London. I welcome any suggestions and advise you can offer! I am super excited for this cruise!
I look forward to chatting with you!
Lynn

Thank you for the welcome! Yes, I live in Northampton in England, its about 60 miles north of London. I go to London fairly often on the train, as the hospital I go to is there. In fact am going Monday for an appointment to discuss my operation in July.

What kind of things do you want to see in London? I used to take the kids a lot in school holidays when they younger, so much to do there you can never get bored!

Me, DH and DD(turning 8 just before this cruise) booked this on opening day. This will be our 3rd Disney cruise but 4th cruise overall. We are in an inside HA room on deck 7 as DD has cerebral palsy. We did an almost identical cruise with Royal Caribbean from Southampton in May of 2013. Hated the boat. Loved the country. We cannot wait to go back. We are Londoners, born and bred. I am ex Airline staff (American airlines), DH is a London cabbie (black cab) and we've traveled the globe so if we can help anyone from overseas on this cruise with any info, let me know.

Would love to be part of a FE as well. Had great fun doing it on the Magic last August in the Med.

Ladyshopper - were you on the Med cruise at the end of August last year? I seem to recognise/remember your name from the FE list? If so, hi again :)

Hi all! We will be joining this cruise as well! It will be me, DW, and DD 12 in one room and my parents in another. I am of Norwegian descent on my Mother's side and have never been to Norway, so we are really looking forward to it, however, we are not letting DD know until Christmas!

WDWEPCOT - we will have to share notes! We too will be on the Alaska Member Cruise in August. We're from the States, but have been to London a number of times before. We are also planning on spending a couple of days in London, hopefully right after DD gets out of school on May 26th. After, we plan on taking the ferry to Calais, then to Paris for a couple of days followed by a couple of days at DLP.

Lelalittlelegs - are you in 7131? If so, we'll be next to you on the accessible insides. DD has Juvenile Arthritis, but is currently in medicated remission (thanks Enbrel!). So she looks and acts like any normal 12 yr old. However, should she have a flare, we would have to bring her transport chair, so we got the HA room in case we need to bring it.

So, who is going to organize the FE list?... :-)

tidefan - yes, we are in 7131 so we'll be neighbours :flower: We were directly below in the same room on deck 6 in August and loved the room and the freedom the extra space gave our DD (and us for her therapy). My Mum has RA and biologic medicine has transformed her life. She, too, is in medicated remission (hooray for Humira) so it's great to hear this approach is working for your DD too. I hope she remains well and is able to enjoy Norway on foot, it's absolutely breathtaking.

Howdy! I don't mind sharing notes - but I am not on the Alaskan Members cruise (wish I was!) - I am on the Members Cruise to the Bahamas in August. Are you on the Alaskan cruise? I went to Alaska on a Disney Cruise in 2013. It was the Best vacation! I LOVED Alaska! What have you got planned so far? We did a couple of Nature tours (got to see bears!) / Glacier Sled Dog (that was so much fun) and shopping! I would love to go again! I would really like to do a land/sea tour.

I started looking into hotels last night - UGH! So hard to find one room for 3 adults that does not cost an arm and a leg and a few body organs! I hate to get two rooms for just three people! DD said that DH can just sleep on the floor. Yeah he would be the first choice to sleep on the floor! Your Cruise before and after plans sound great! I really want 2-3 days (Not Travel days) in London to Tour - I would really LOVE to be able to hop over to Paris - but doubt I would be able to swing that one - but may check into it. DD is fluent in French - so that would help! I so want to go to Disneyland Paris. I could make that a day trip couldn't I? Would that be possible? Train ride over? maybe spend the night? If I get England / France and Norway - I will feel like I died and went to heaven!

Thank you so much for your offer of help - I need all the help I can get! I am thinking of staying in Westminster - Is this a good area for sightseeing? Should I pick a different area? I am having some trouble finding a reasonable hotel that takes 3 adults in one room. Do you have any you could recommend? I really want to see the main attractions - Big Ben / London Eye / Tower / etc. - and would really like to see Buckingham Palace! I am a huge Royal Family Fan! I would also love to see a real castle. I would really like to step foot in Harrods Dept Store. And total cliché - I want to get some Fish & Chips - Would I get those in a pub?? (I know - laugh away). I can be your entertainment as I ask all my silly questions! So I need my new Brit friend to clue me in - as I am clueless. I have been reading all the threads trying to find info! I am going to the Book Store this week-end to grab a couple of books. I appreciate all your help!
Lynn

I found a thread on the DIS - Europe and DCL Transfers - If you all are interested I will post a link so you can read it. I found it very interesting and think it may help with planning. Has anyone on here done a Europe cruise before and used DCL for transfers? Would love to hear any feedback. I have never used public transportation (except Disney) and find it a bit scary. I am thinking it may be easier for me to just let Disney handle everything - but if you all have done it and can tell me how easy and cheaper it is - I may brave up and do it on my own!
Lynn

Hi excited to be sailing with you all next year! This will be our 5th DCL cruise (gold whoo-hoo). It will be me & the hubby DD8 & DS3 along with my parents. We're planning to spend some time in GB before / after the cruise and hopefully squeeze in another trip to Disneyland Paris. Haven't really started any planning yet. We sail the Baltic with Disney next month and will start planning as soon as we get home!!

Funny, we are basically planning the same trip as you! Are you going to ferry from Dover to Calais, or will you go to Ashford to catch the Eurostar?

Hi all, we are joining you as well! Our first Disney cruise, it will be me, DH, DS (5) and my mother in law in one room and my mum and her partner in another. Excited!
