Recommendations for hotel near Universal?

hello everyone! I am looking for any and all information and recommendations regarding a low-cost but safe and clean hotel near universal. I have never stayed off site before and I'm going to start our vacation with two days at Universal before transferring on site.thank you everyone for your time!

Drury Inn and suites would be the place i would go for.

Have you considered Cabana Bay? We just stayed there and it was awesome. Our family of 5 pays half of what AofA could cost, and Cabana Bay has nicer facilities.

I second this. We just did one night just to try it before moving to RPR. We had a family tower poolside suite and loved it. We are a family of three.

We are going in July and booked the Holiday Inn across the street from Universal. It is considered a sister hotel and guests get certain benefits like early entry to the parks, same as on site guests. It is literally across the street and about a 10 minute walk from the parks on a paved path. To get these benefits though you have to book directly with Universal as a package with tickets.

Hyatt Place. It is across the street, free breakfast included.
