Can I just say that I'M SO JEALOUS?! The Anniversary party sounds awesome since I haven't been back to DL since 2009. I'd have to take Thursday in addition to Friday off from work (... and now I can't remember why that's a bad thing

).

Great idea but I don't think we are arriving until midday Friday. I need to stop procrastinating with my air and hotel plans

Same here, not arriving until Friday. Hopefully in time to get to the Expo, but we'll have to see where and when I can get a cheap flight. Right now prices are almost $500 round trip from Baltimore, MD.

Thanks for mentioning this Anniversary Party! I completely forgot about it, b/c I was waiting to see what was happening w/ NY. Now off to reg for it. As for the Dole Whip Stand, it might be open, b/c it's on that side. I envision the entrance being roped off right there by Jolly Holiday Bakery.

I'm freakishly excited about it! I was wondering how I was going to squeeze in all the new nighttime stuff at DL along with seeing World of Color AT LEAST once AND going to the Rangers-Angels game on Friday night, so it solves all my problems!

I have a bunch of plane tickets for points on hold, but I think right now I'm going to fly in midday on Wednesday, check in to the hotel and then hit DCA, treat myself to a fun dinner and then call it an early night.

I probably won't see the husband until late afternoon Friday when he drives in from Santa Monica, so at least I can do everything I want without him slowing me down.

We hope to fly in on Wednesday midday as well. Will be at expo opening as well since this may be my only DL race trip. Sounds like you have a super awesome trip planned out!!

Speaking of Transportation, I'll be arriving at LAX at noon on Thursday Sept 3rd, picking up a car and driving down to the Disneyland Resort. If anyone will be at LAX then and needs a lift (in my cheap as dirt rental) I'd be happy to help out.

Oh, that's better! I'll be a maybe/yes. My flight gets into SNA around 2:30, figure be at the hotel around 3:30. I could meet you guys on the way to the expo or if I get to the hotel earlier I can go through the expo fast (only need bib and race merch).

That said, I'll probably be having a Dole Whip at that time on Wednesday as well.

Should we set an over/under on how many Dole Whips I will consume during race weekend? Will I turn into a Dole Whip? Will I run the Half dressed AS a Dole Whip? Stay Tuned!

Dole Whips are this magical mix of pineapple and soft serve - but it doesn't feel like so much like soft-serve OR sorbet. You can have them plain (I'm a purist, so it's my pick) or swirled with vanilla soft serve. Or you can be like @SgtTibbs and have them as a float - which means Dole Whip and vanilla soft serve swirl, floating as an island in pineapple juice. They. Are. Amazing.

Note: There is NO vanilla soft serve in the "Float" it's Dole Whip plus pure Dole pineapple juice.

Dole Whip's are one of those love them or hate them things. You'll have to try one yourself to discover which side you are on, but how you feel about Pineapple in general is probably a fairly good predictor.

In fairness, Dole Whip's are the only pineapple things I will tolerate. Weird, right?
