March Check-In Thread!

I know a lot of our March'ers are in the parks right now, but this can't sneak to the 2nd page!

Booked our airport shuttle last night, the last thing to do besides pack and go! Except I still have to wait two weeks for that...sigh...lol.

I booked our shuttle yesterday too... but I have to wait until the last weekend of March before we go. I am excited that we are there for the "egg"- Easter celebration!

I have been avoiding this thread. I have too much to do to be ready and the countdowns are making me stress, LOL. Hope everyone in the parks right now is having a lovely time! Wait times seem awesome! :).

Thanks all, I googled the Maliboomer and that was exactly what I saw. You know I am actually kind of glad it isn't there anymore. I have been to all four Disney World parks multiple times and both Disneyland parks and the first time I went to DCA I told my wife that IMO it was the least Disney themed park I had been too. It sort of gave the feel of that a Disney park had collided with a county fair. The removal of Maliboomer and the huge re-imagioneering they did with Cars Land definitely makes it A LOT better. Besides DCA already has ToT, why need Maliboomer?

Also, out of curiosity, as I mentioned above, IMO DCA got a huge face lift with Cars Land because so much of the park seemed to lack Disney theming.....My question, what was there before Car's Land? Before they built Cars Land, what was in that spot, what did they remove? was that area also lacking Disney theming?

From the Wikipedia entry for Carsland: I remember the Bountiful Valley Farm area and it wasn't very interesting. :)

Most of the present-day site of Cars Land had been used as the "Timon" parking lot since 2001; the lot had been designated as future growth space for Disney California Adventure when it was originally designed in the 1990s, and was partially built over with The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and the Flik's Fun Fair section of A Bug's Land. A small portion of Cars Land was built over the site of the Bountiful Valley Farm, one of the park's original attractions.

I have a question for those there now...aside from rain, how have the evenings felt temperature wise...are pants necessary? Are pants and a regular hoodie appropriate evening attire? The daytime weather forecast keeps changing for our dates but it seems like after dark lows are fairly consistent. I am not sure I grasp what 50 degrees feels like in California and I don't know how many pairs of pants we will need.

That will be fun! We are just missing it by a week or so.

This week pants and a hoodie are perfect. It would be chilly in shorts.

So I, DW and DD's ages 8,6,5 and 3 are going to So. Cal. for 8 days, March 28th - April 4th. As of right now, March 28th we will be going to Six Flags Magic Mountain, then, we have 6, 5-day one park per day DLR passes...we plan on going to DL 3 times and DCA 2 times but at a leisurely pace for the kids. Then we have a rest day planned, we were thinking the beach, maybe take in the sites in Hollywood, we've been to the Santa Monica Peer before and liked it. So all of that equals 7 days....I have one left and need ideas. We enjoy going to places that we cant here at home (Las Vegas). We've been to Ripley's Believe it or Not and other types of Museums in Florida and enjoyed it, we love large shopping malls and just unique stuff. Does anyone know the surrounding area well (Anaheim, L.A area) that can give us some ideas of some tourist attractions that we aren't already doing on the other 7 days? Any tips or ideas are welcome and greatly appreciated.

Thanks in Advance

I am far from an expert, this is only my 4th time visiting Cali but here are some ideas I am tossing about for our days off that would work for younger kids: Legoland, Seaworld, California Science Center (where the space shuttle Endeavour is), La Brea tar pits, Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. I don't shop much but we liked the outlets in Carlsbad where Legoland is (the beaches are lovely there too) but I bet there are equal or better places closer.

I will be curious to see what else is suggested! Have a great trip.

Excuse the third post in a row but the kids find out about our trip tomorrow!!!! I am wrapping up a shirt I had made for my DS that has the Mad Hatter on the front with the caption "It is NOT my unbirthday!" and on the back it says "Celebrating my birthday at Disneyland 2015" on the back, a birthday button a wonderful dis'er sent me and the Disneyland planning DVD. :). Can't wait!

I haven't been to the new site yet. It moved, right? I'm glad I got to dine in the original. I forgot all about going this time. I don't think I could afford to take my whole family, lol!

I went before the renovations, so we are excited to see the new Club 33! We also want to get a new Christmas ornament as ours broke in a million pieces when our tree fell this year. :(
