DH wants to golf one morning while we hang out at resort before heading to MK in early afternoon. He is an average golfer. Which course would you recommend? Would you do 9 or 18 holes? I can book golf in 9 days so would love any advice, thanks! (Sorry - could not find a sports thread on here).

I would start with a round of 18 at Lake Buena Vista. The other good option for beginners and intermediates is to walk 9 at Oak Trail which is located with the other two, The Palm and Magnolia, which are slightly more difficult. Walking 9 at Oak Trail is included on the Water Parks and more option.

My husband played 9 at the Magnolia last week. The had a Sunrise Special for tee off at any of the courses before 830 with breakfast sandwich/juice/coffee, 9 holes and a post round beer for $29. My husband would have liked to play 18 but we only had time to squeeze in 9 so it was a great deal.

Hubby is an avid golfer - his preference is also Palm or Magnolia.

Wow, that is a great deal for anywhere! At Disney, it's a steal! :rotfl:

1) Actually, I would go off-site.
2) The WDW courses get far too much travel to remain in good shape.
3) Especially for the high price.
4) Just about 3-miles down the road on Osceola Parkway is Falcon's Fire, a Rees Jones course.
. . . the top rated public course in Orlando for 2015
. . . always in good shape
. . . reasonable pricing
. . . a pleasure for any golf skill level
. . . tee times available on-line
. . . it is $20-$30 cheaper (based upon day/time) than WDW for 18-holes

I would love to play a round but it's not worth paying to bring the clubs. Do any of the courses rent clubs?

My husband has rented clubs at both Magnolia and LBV

OP, I'd never reserve for less than 18 holes. As I said above, my DH has played LBV and Magnolia. He enjoyed both, but preferred LBV.

My BF played Magnolia and LBV on our last visit. He loved Magnolia but felt he was out of his league. He played LBV twice and loved it. He just said Magnolia was a tougher course but he can't wait to play there again someday.

Club rentals for the Sunrise Special 9 hole deal is $15. ALSO if you are staying on property you get a free taxi ride back and forth to your resort.
