Podcast Team Backstory

I'm yet to listen to the Tutus for Tanner episode, but for some reason, I thought Bob was the one who said Tutus (rather than tu-tu's)? or was it John?

It was definitely John who said it, and I'm pretty sure it happened after Bob died. I think it was the episode of Pete's Beach Club review, 2010?

Yeah, its in 2010 which is why I was confused. As soon as I'm done with the 7in7 and this week's shows, I'll be listening!!

Yup, if I'm remembering right, it was while John was (as usual) doing the news on the weekly show, and the "Tutus for Tanner" was a fundraising event (probably for GKTW).

I listened to the Introduction to the Dis podcast (4-15-10) today and it was fantastic! This is exactly what I was hoping to find when I started this thread. I learned a lot of new information and feel more connected to the folks in the podcast.

However, in the same way Disney refreshes its resorts every 5 years, I would love to see a refresh of this "introduction" episode. There are different cast members now and it'd be great to hear about the current state of affairs. So much can change in 5 years! Many of the questions I posed earlier are still unanswered to me.

It was interesting to learn about the Dreams businesses and the various relationships. It was also a funny episode - especially when Julie asked Walter if he had stopped working out because he had seeming lost some muscle mass. (Talk about foot in mouth!)

Also a new question: Where did Walter and Leah go? I haven't heard them since I've been listening but they seemed to be a prominent part of that old 2010 show.

Anyway, at the very end of the podcast Pete mentioned that, if anyone had further questions, to let them know and they'd do their best to answer. So consider this the official request for an updated "history of the show" podcast.

I also know I had occasionally seen Leah on a podcast (if I remember right it was a "Disney with kids" and/or "ladies topics" show(s). She also posts stuff here on DisBoards under WebMaster Leah. Matter of fact - she has a new blog up now, right here on PodCasts - Called
new blog: Have you ever wondered? A peek into the Disney details
Update - Just noticed the blog (on replacing the lightbulbs in the cool chandeliers in the Wilderness Lodge - VERY interesting, you should def read it) was actually written by Kathy Wehrling (hope I'm spelling that right), but it was posted under Leah's name of WebMaster Leah.

My husband and I were watching a few episodes of the 7 in 7 this weekend. I said the same thing....actually, I said Who is this Will? Where did he come from? and how do I get to be him?

I believe back in the audio only days, he worked on the show or site in some way. He had since gotten a radio job in another state but stops by from time to time. He was here for the last 7in7, too, and in the studio.

Do you have the link?

Go to the podcast link in the banner above and select Orlando archives (or maybe it's WDW archives?) and then select 2010 archives and scroll down till you get to the date

Thanks for including the date of that show. I went back and listened and it was a great episode.
I can't see this episode anywhere? April 14TH is there but no 15TH? I've started to listen to the podcast but I don't think its an introduction to the team.

Here are some links to older podcasts where the team explained how they formed the DIS, Dreams Unlimited Travel, and the podcast.

The team did a podcast on June 12, 2007, for the 10th Anniversary of the DIS: http://www.podtrac.com/pts/redirect.mp3/www.wdwinfo.com/podcast/anniversary-56.mp3

There was also a podcast (July 27, 2011) on the 5 year anniversary of the DIS Unplugged: http://www.wdwinfo.com/podcast/roundtable314-072711-anniversary.mp3

The 15th Anniversary show was on June 6, 2012 (click here)

If you have an iPhone, its definitely on the podcast app as 04/15/10. I couldn't find it on the website either for some reason?

Probably the best was on Podcast Cruise 3.0 when Pete and John did a full-on history of the DIS and the beginnings of the show, with Q&A. It was probably the best presentation of the back story. I am not sure if Dustin released it as a stand-alone video, but it was a fun session.

Thanx so much, I'll have to go back and look for it!

Someday there should be a book on all of this. I always do love these threads, it's quite the history.
For whoever was posting earlier the correct order was the DIS, Dreams, Podcast. Back on the original DIS every moderator pretty much read every post every day and we used to have a chat every evening, Pete would frequently be found there along with Bob and some other regulars. For those that were asking about Will, he is from Indiana, he does help Corey with a lot of his duties and he's a heck of a nice guy except for the fact that he's a Colts fan.

Remember the pictures from the early days? :)

If only he were a Cowboys fan...

I remember reading the host board, and laughing so hard I was crying... something about someone not wanting to share her sig pic, and everyone ended up with it... another person's picture ended up with mud on it, and so on.... nice memories.
