Ok so yesterday big kid and I went into a gas station store for pop and snacks. And we got a lot theres 5 of us..
Lady politely asks if we want a bag. She starts struggling to open said bag and proceeds to drop her mask and lick her fingers. Big kid and I both scream “ we don’t need a bag” at exact same time , it was like alternative universe . We literally juggled everything to the car and hand sanitized like mad and didn’t know whether to laugh which we did or cry as ppl like this are part of the reason this will just keep going in and on …

In the first few weeks of the pandemic, I was in line outside Brewers Retail (Beer Store) - as one does in a pandemic - and an elderly man in line had taken an empty plastic pop bottle, cut it in half, then duct taped it around his head. He was peering out through the plastic and breathing through the neck of the bottle. Mostly men in their 30s standing in the line. No one laughed. No one made fun. We all just looked at our shoes. And I decided I wouldn't be standing in line for beer ever again. I switched to bag wine .

I seen some pretty crazy things working retail during all of this chaos. From wearing weird things for masks, screaming - actually screaming - at someone walked through their perceived path (route) they were going to walk through the store :scared: The best one is where people will come into the little employee space that is set up to do our covid check in - wanting us to take them temps and squirt sanitizer into their hands because they were afraid to touch the bottle to sanitize their hands from any germs anyways :rolleyes1 Isn't that the whole reason for sanitizing anyways.

I just have to laugh at this point...or else go rock in a corner and mutter to myself.

At WDW last week on Transit Authority in MK. Folks in cars ahead of us wearing Masks under their chins. I commented as loudly as I could that it must be embarrassing to have to wear a chin diaper to collect all the dribbles. They sheepishly put the masks on, apparently, it was less uncomfortable to just wear the mask properly then to think someone thought you were drooling and needed something to catch it..
Also at WDW watching more then several people arguing with Cast Members that they had no idea a park reservation was required.. Not as funny, but just an example of how little some folks put into researching/planning.

I saw a family of 5 just the other day all wearing bandanas instead of masks in the Bulk Barn store. I was glad I was leaving. Maybe it's fine, but the effort to put all those bandanas over their faces seems like it would be easier to just acquiesce and put on a mask.
Maybe they were there to rob it? 🤷‍♀️

just back from the grocery store (OMG at this time of year people are always on edge but this year?! So rude!!!) Mom and a little wee one entered in front of me, I'd guess she might be under 2 by her newly acquired land legs, you know, haven't walked much yet, add snowsuit and boots and she was tottering along. She had the cutest mask ever on with a hat that made her look like Olaf, stuck her hands under the sanitizer, rubbed them together, promptly pulled the mask down and licked her fingers (the stuff did smell like candy!) It was like the scene in ELF with the perfume, staring at her mom and screaming but still attempting to get her mask back on by herself! Saw them later and she was pulling her mask down to plop a pacifier in her mouth before she pulled it back up. I told the mom I was really impressed and she seemed shocked, apparently most people are telling her she's hurting her by forcing her to cover her face. I said she doesn't seem to care and mom agreed "I had more trouble convincing her to wear pants today!"

Apparently there is an over the speaker code message which means the *crazy person * anti masker* is in the Sobeys grocery store. Who knew......
I thought the cashier was seriously pushing me (physically) away from the express line up and I was freaking out.

Naw I came to understand that she was pushing me away from the the Beer drink & spitting ... T shirt wearing man.......

At the grocery store a family member works at, as of this weekend they are now issuing goggles and face shields to all employees (who must wear one or both), and are cracking down on enforcing proper mask wearing by employees [because some employees would wear them lets call it sloppily].

I'll have to ask if they have a similar speaker code.
