Hi all, my husband and I are planning a 4 night/5 day trip to Disney World for July 21st to July 25th. We are in our early to mid-30's. It'll be just us. Two years ago we stayed in CSR and got upgraded to a suite and we loved it. Now, we are between CSR and CBR. My husband has never been to CBR (I stayed there about 12 years ago), so he is excited to try somewhere new, but we also love how the CSR GDT looks. The parks we care most about we AK, MK, and Epcot. My husband has never been to HS, he would go, but it isn't a priority of ours. Here are the numbers. A standard king room at CBR would be $2,142.72 for 3 park days or $2,331.08 for 4 park days. With the park package deal, only pirate rooms are available we do not want a pirate room. For CSR a standard tower king room with the 5-day ticket to the parks would be $2,324.82. Please help us decide! We have been going back and forth for days now. On one hand, my husband has never been to CBR and it has the skyliner and you can walk to the Rivera, which we thought was cool, in another the tower looks beautiful. We need help deciding! Any help is appreciated. Thank you!

I would choose GDT. CSR and CBR is way too spread out...The skyliner is great, but I would choose another skyliner resort if that is priority.

Pirate rooms would be a big no for an adult-only trip. Double beds in the pirate rooms vs king bed at GDT? GDT hands down.

Thank you for your reply. The pirate rooms are a definite no, if we choose CBR, it would be in a standard king room and the ticket package only includes pirate rooms.

4 days at CBR vs 5 park days at CSR in new tower are the same price?!?! ... there is no question that CSR is the MUCH better deal here on multiple levels.

I am a bit confused on the CBR park package deal being only pirate rooms .... but you are saying you are looking at king beds. To my knowledge there are no king beds in pirates, only the full beds in the platform style pirate boats. Have stayed in them and would NEVER EVER return.

Thank you, we appreciate it.
You're welcome...I have stayed at GDT twice and it is beautiful. I will never stay at the CSR side again or CBR due to its size. The tower is great for an adults only vacation...almost like a deluxe for moderate pricing. If the skyliner is a priority the YC is my favorite deluxe resort...maybe check availability there or Rivera.

Both are awesome and I prefer CBR for our family but if it was just me and my wife we’d probably chose CSR...especially if you are saving money.

Neither. Swan/Dolphin or wait til port orleans opens up. If I cared a bunch about the skyline I’d prolly look at AOA

I see. Still, you'll get a far nicer room at GDT than CBR. The rooms at CBR haven't been updated in a while and it shows.

Thank you. We wouldn’t use the park tickets each day most likely. We would probably use 4 of 5 (and go to one park a day). As far as the pirate rooms go, when I put the package in, that is the only room that comes up for CBR.

Thank you. We would love to try the YC or Rivera in the future.

Got ya on the tickets.

Just wanted you to know since you were talking about booking a King that the beds in Pirates are two full size.

We’ve stayed at both multiple times and CSR definitely has a great pool and Great restaurants but getting around is not as easy. CBR now has the skyliner and just riding it is a blast, my whole family just looked for reasons to ride it. CBR also has a nice themed pool As well as multiple quiet pools around the resort That were not busy while we were there. Riviera is also in walking distance with multiple great eateries as well as their own skyliner station. I know people think these resorts are spread out but a nice walk after a meal is a welcome respite If all things are even we choose CBR! Have a great trip!
