So what is better for rope drop then - Everest or Safari

Without fastpass (because we have them at MK later in day), we have always headed to Everest at Rope Drop end then Safari.

There is s parallel thread that says rope drop Safari is best for that ride. If we did that, we would get to Everest maybe 30 -40 minutes after park open. Which Queue builds up faster>

Which is better from a time efficiency that it takes to get through both rides:
1) Safari first at RD then Everest?
2) Everest first at RD than Safari?

If it is close, then maybe Safari makes sense from animal viewing perspective?

i had the same question (though the day I'm planning includes AK EMH), and most of the people who commented concurred that its better to do Everest first, mostly cause Safari is so long and the wait time builds the whole time you're on the ride. Have yet to try it though, so take this with the grain of salt it requires.

What time of year -- i.e., how crowded do you expect it to be? Everyone says Safari is really great early in the morning due to greater animal activity, but agree the Safari takes it awhile. But if it's not that busy a time, I bet the wait at Everest could still be manageable.

March 30. Spring Break - Non EMH. If Everest will be manageable 40 minutes after RD, we would go there....

Question - where do the crowds beeline to at RD?

At rope drop, you can likely ride EE 2-3 times via the standby line (Single Rider line is often not open early.)

Then, head to Safari and you will likely be in a "walk-on" (or nearly so) at that time (which may be a "lull" in those that headed to Safari first, and have been already boarded and underway.

I know that our experience is different as we were there last February (much lower crowds) and did it during EMH, but we rode EE 3 times, walked to Safari and got right on. We weren't there for rope drop, but maybe about 10 after 8. Even going busy times, I'd try that again. I would say that you could get multiple rides on EE, and even if you had to wait it wouldn't be long for Safari.

We were there Wednesday did Everest twice, went to safari were on in less then 5 minutes, same thing this morning, and it was crazy busy there today, and we were bout 20 minutes late to rope drop both days

I always do EE then Safari for the same reasons as above - Safari is a much longer ride. I get there at rope drop and head to EE through Dinoland and past Nemo.

Dino Land is the shorter route to the "mountain" at EE.
Asia is the shorter route to the "entrance queue" at EE.

This :thumbsup2! We go do EE a couple times and then Safari. We always route through Dinoland to get there.

Now that there are Pandora rides, the priority order of rides may change. It'll probably all depend if the park is tiered.

We've had the same question and have tried it both ways, more than once. Our experience is that EE is better to do first, simply because of how long of a ride Safari is. By time you get off, EE line has already grown substantially.

I also do not think there is a "right" time for riding Safari. It's random, they're animals, not programmed machines. The person who rides at 9:40am may see an entirely different thing than someone who boards at 9:52am.

I know that they don't usually open the single rider line immediately, but once it's open, do people find that line builds quickly? I've always had great luck with it first thing, but this time I may get there a little later in the morning...and sadly I never am with anyone who will ride it with me...

The EE Single Rider Line is about the best of the SRL at WDW.
Generally, it moves very quickly.

We will be doing this per Robos advice on our trip in May. It will be the first time we have tried to fit in EE, Safari and Dino during EMH. Usually we just hit EE and then do whatever else we may feel like, nothing specific. I can tell you we have done EE at RD during EMH and we always rode multiple times in standby pretty much walk on then they opened single rider by the time regular park opened an hour later and it was a very short wait time. Never done it at regular RD park open, only EMH.

It's awesome! The last time, I couldn't get around fast enough - the CM was calling to me "Hurry up, single rider!" But again, I usually head there first thing. I'm sure it might be a little slower if I go later, but hoping it's still manageable - thanks!

In the past we have done EE first and then went directly to the Safaris. We have never had more than a 5-10 minute wait (if that) once we have gotten to Safaris.

Our plan is to do EE first and then the Safari. I have to say, @Robo your maps are a huge help for planning!
