Animal Kingdom 1 Bedroom Questions

Hello all,

We have been looking into renting a 1 bedroom villa at Animal Kingdom for next December and I am trying to make sure I understand the room options so we can make our request through one of the brokers at 11 months out. Note we have never stayed at a Disney resort before (except when we were kids) so I am coming into this blind. I've researched thoroughly but am not 100% sure I have it figured out. Can anybody tell me if I have all of the below info correct? This is all speaking specifically about 1 bedroom villas.

Kidani Village - all villas have a second bathroom; all have a sleeper chair in addition to the sleeper sofa. There are no Value rooms.

Jambo House - none of the villas have a second bathroom; none of the Value rooms (of which there are very few) have a sleeper chair, but all other rooms do.

Is any of the above information incorrect?

Thanks!

Looks correct to me. In addition you have a full kitchen and trash and towel service on day 4 and full cleaning on day 8. If staying longer than 8, reverse the cleanings.

Important note is that a Value 1BR only accommodates 4 people. The other 1BR options accommodate 5.

Thanks for the responses. Makes me more comfortable that I have deciphered the options properly. Now to decide between Jambo and Kidani, and whether to try and get a Value room if we go with Jambo.

The Standard & Savanna View 1-bedrooms in Kidani Village are approx. 100 sq feet larger than those in Jambo House. The Values in Jambo are even smaller.

Thanks, I noticed the difference in sizes. It definitely sounds like the rooms in Kidani are nicer, but from what I have read the public areas are better in Jambo. Tough decision.

I do not like the bathroom set up in the jambo 1 bedroom. The bathroom is all in one room and is across the hall from the master bedroom. The way the bathroom is set up, only one person could be in the bathroom getting ready at a time if privacy is a concern. There is also no separate sink area outside the bathroom like in other dvc 1 bedrooms - which makes getting ready in the mornings much easier.

Also, there is no stand alone tub in the jambo one bedroom. It is a tub/shower combination. Other dvc 1 bedrooms have separate tubs and showers.

Just my opinion! I love jambo house, but will only stay in a 2 bedroom there because of the bathroom situation.

Not sure this is true. We stayed in a a 1 bedroom in Jambo House and had a separate shower and garden tub. They were all in one room though.

If you have teenagers, definitely go for the Kidani 1BRs for the extra bathroom. It is only a 10 minute walk outdoors to the other resort plus there is a shuttle van than runs between each resort. So I don't really care which one we stay at. The size and ages of our party would make me decide. With a kitchen we eat at a quick service restaurant less often as we can easily fix sandwiches for lunch and breakfast in the room. Also Sanaa is serving a quick service breakfast currently. But that could always change. It was great option IMO, we preferred breakfast at Sanaa versus at Mara at a Jambo House in October, less crowded and short lines.

I just realized I didn't say anything about our party. No teenagers. It will be my wife and I with our 4 year old son and a 7 month old, and possibly my wife's sister.

Two bathrooms is definitely alluring but in our particular case, we are capable of getting away with one, we have done it before without issue.
Luxury goes beyond "capable." That's the whole point of luxury!

In my world, a bathroom to myself is about the best thing possible. Especially if it locks.

We always go with Kidani as the rooms are way nicer and we request near the Zazu elevator (which we always get because almost everyone asks for near lobby) then the walk to Jambo is less that 5 minutes so we really have both resorts.

That sounds like a great tip...thanks!

When booking through points rental, how do you go about making a location request? Do you ask the broker to make it or is it something you request at check in?

Also, does anyone know if there is a guide anywhere of where all the standard view 1 bedrooms are?

So you're saying if I have a 9 night trip booked, we would get the full cleaning on day 4 and light cleaning on day 8? We just stayed a week at GFV and I had mentioned to my bf about asking if we could have them do a full cleaning earlier in the week for our 9 night stay at AKV next June.

Location requests should be made with Member Services well before you arrive, which requires the member from whom you are renting to make the request. You should have the broker ask the owner to make your desired request.

1BRs are everywhere throughout the building so your location request can be for anywhere there are standard view rooms in the building. For location of standards and things to consider in making a request, go here and see my post
