Out of all the moderates; which do you feel is best suited to a wheelchair user?

Dh will be pushing dmil (87 next trip!!)
We found the food court at cbr hard to navigate with the flooring..
I imagine we'd have the same issue outdoors at pofq..

Therefore which would you recommend and why?

The only issue with CBR is that there are no elevators. As for access, our friends brought their wheelchair bound son to CBR and got ground floor. They have handicap accessible doors with the push of a button. They had no problems and the buses at all resorts are adaptable for wheelchairs/scooters.

Thanks for this-slightly off topic...
Would you recommend fort wilderness cabins?

No. If they are heading to the parks they would have to take 2 buses. The resort is so big there is one to the proper bus stop and then one to the park.

I stayed 10 days at Coronado Springs with a wheelchair. I requested, and received, a ground floor room. Getting around was a breeze.

POFQ would also be a good choice. There are sidewalks along the cobblestone streets for wheelchair use. Actually, if you don't mind paying a little more and getting preferred location, you could be in building 3 or 4 and not even cross the cobblestone.

If you choose POFQ ask for pool view as those rooms are close to the foodcourt and lobby (which leads out to the bus stops) . When we booked earlier this year POFQ had no preferred room option. The categories were King room( which can be in any location) Standard view , River view , Garden View or Pool view.
The resort is compact compared to the other Mods so if you didn't pay for pool view request 2, 3, 4 or 5. They are the most central buildings . All buildings have a central location with 2 elevators.

POFQ does not have any room that are classified as preferred.

You might consider asking this question, since it's based on the wheelchair, on the disabilities board here. Not that answers aren't good here, but you might get even more there.

Would you still say that if one has their own car for transportation to the parks?
With our own car...cabins would be fine. And the interior is large enough that a wheelchair would have plenty of room to maneuver.

Thanks. My dd is paralyzed, and I have been considering one of the accessible cabins to give the three of us space. I plan to have a rental car, and the idea of being able to park right next to the cabin is also appealing.

You will not be disappointed. The kitchen is open and the hallway to the bedroom is large.

We just stayed at the Cabins in September.

We loved: the space, and especially the luxury of having a kitchen with a full-size fridge/freezer!
We loved: seeing our "deer friends" in the morning, grazing out behind our cabin
We loved: how very sweet and friendly EVERYONE is there - not just the CMs (who are awesome!) but all of the Guests as well!
We loved: how many of the Guests decorate their campsites and Cabins; we spent a couple of hours just riding around looking at the decorations and waving to everyone!
We loved: the peace and quiet. It is truly the most relaxing and tranquil location at WDW!

We DID NOT love: that we had to take at least 2 buses to get anywhere
We DID NOT love: that our (personal) car got covered in sticky pine tree sap that took 3 car washes to get off
We DID NOT love: the ramp up to the deck outside the cabin; if you don't like the cobblestones at POFQ, you probably will not be happy with the ramp as you bumpbumpbump your way up and down.
We DID NOT love: how distant everything (dining, laundry, pool) was from our cabin.

POFQ has the smallest "footprint" of the moderates; additionally, the Food Court has just re-opened after being remodeled (and it looks great!) When we stay moderate, we prefer POFQ every time; we love the boats to Disney Springs (which can also act as a hub to other Resort hotels) and we especially love that the theming is on point, but not so over the top that you get fatigued by it during a long stay (from an adult perspective).
