>> Refillable Mug FAQ <<

wejust might do that if they don't bring back the handles (at least as an option!)

I'm a bit late to the party. I thought they were only testing this option but it looks like the refillable mugs with handles are not returning? I'm not a fan of this move at all.

September trip to WDW, stayed at Pop Century. Enjoyed the mug for hot and cold beverages. No handle. No problem. One hint: checked out on last day and then went to fill mug with a soft drink to take on the bus to the parks. Ooops. Once you check out, your chip is deactivated. You can still fill up coffee or cocoa or tea. But if you want a soft drink on the last day, fill up before you check out!

That shouldn't happen.

If this happens to you, take your mug to have it activated.

I agree the dining plan is good until midnight of the last day and the mug comes with the DDP. but even when we aren't on the DDP we buy the mugs. they should be good the entire last day. what if your flight isn't till later in the day and you're doing the pool all day? lots of people do this.

(and by the way I hated the new mugs with no handles. too hard to carry back to the room. esp if they're filled with hot beverages. I saw some managers with suits taking nots at the food court and writing things on a clipboard and I nicely tod him my concerns and he wrote something down. I told him I heard many people complaining about it.

Is there any information on the colors of the new handle less mugs? I will be at All Star Movies in 14days

This is what they look like now without the handles.
and they are awful, i just got back from my trip yesterday and i have no idea what disney's thought process was with this...save money on handles? just make them all black or white? IDK but I asked a cast member and they dont even like them. End rant and back to my PDB State

Yeah..it was done to save .11 cents per mug is my guess. The carabiner folk must be upset about this as well. They should just offer both so everyone is happy. Someone earlier mentioned that the handles also help if you've got multiple mugs so you can match the lids to the correct mugs if you're filling up a bunch of them at once.

I'm at Disney now and a cast member told me that Disney is thinking of bringing the handles back because they have had so many complaints

We're staying in ASMu and will only be eating breakfast in the food court for 4 days at most. Is it worth it to even get these while we're there? Will it even pay for itself?

(We're not frequent WDW visitors btw. So who knows when we'll ever be back at WDW again.)
Will you be visiting any other Disney resorts while you are there? We pay for the cup on day one then when we eat at other resorts or just go for a look around you can use your refillable cup at all of them, which saves us more money.

Even stupider is that they try to compensate for the missing handles by having those cardboard cup trays. Uh... doesnt that go completely against Disney's efforts to be more environmentally friendly? But then maybe they always had them there and i didnt notice.

When i asked that question, i didnt realize i would be getting these mugs for free anyway since i am on the dining plan. Derp. :P

Funny story though: I was in a Goodwill the other day, and i swear this lady had her cart filled with these exact same mugs but with handles.

Same colors as before, red, blue, green and purple

You can still switch up the colors. The center of the lid pops out

I thought eating and drinking wasn't permitted on the buses.

Also, mugs are not deactivated on checkout. If it didn't work, it was for a different reason.
