Week After Turkey Day Shenanigans

I just placed my order with Orlando Grocery but I'm sure I'll be tweaking it. I mostly wanted snacks for the room. We don't usually do big breakfasts but the kids might want dry cereal or yogurt. And DH needs Diet Coke - they don't sell it via IV, so bottles will have to do. And Pop Tarts because we only get them on vacation. Coffee creamer, iced tea for me, water, juice boxes. One box of cookies, one box of crackers.

Last time we got a bunch of snack-type stuff through GG and I felt like we overdid but I can't remember what I ordered. I do know I didn't use enough snack credits and that was with an under-3 so I intend to use so hecking many snack credits this time!

Did you also do the kingdom stroller rental? Last year I used Orlando grocery express because my stroller rental came with a free delivery.

Yes, that's why! I suppose I should have compared prices to GG but I was too lazy, lol.

I compared them last year and it was really comparable. I need to order the stroller so I can order the food!

Which stroller did you go with?
The Mini GT, single - honestly I had no clue, the stroller I used for 10 years was a POS Graco, so any of these rentals are like driving a Cadillac. Hopefully this will be big enough for my average-sized 5-year-old, and possibly for my smallish 8-year-old if she gets tired. Which one are you getting?

last trip we brought instant oatmeal and used the coffee pot inthe room for hot water. Brought along some paper plates/bowls/plastic wear. Worked great.

Yep. We'll bring oatmeal and Easymac for the kids to eat on those nights (ahem, Biergarten) when they don't care for some of the food we've tried, but Dh will just have to run through the food court and grab something on his way out if he's hungry. Or he can stop by Starbucks at the park if the food court is jam-packed (a likely scenario).

Actually, he does like peanut butter (though he doesn't like the fact that I won't kiss him after he eats it - peanut butter breath is gross!), so we're planning to bring some individual cups of Jif along. He could spread some of that on bread for his protein fix.

We did the mini GT double last year, and probably will again. My 7yo is 48" now and won't be able to comfortable use the sun shade but he was only in it when we were huffing it from ride to ride. I'd like to get the single mini GT but figure if we have a stroller we may as well get the double so I don't have to yell at the 7yo to hurry up the whole time. He's quite the straggler.

I've been looking at kingdom and trying to decide on a double stroller too. My older DS, 5, is on the smallish size so it sounds like the GT would be fine. We've got a Joovy Caboose tandem double at home that I need to sell because I hate it so much I haven't used it in two years.

The mini GT is really awesome - we just compared pics of the other options folded up and it looks waaaay smaller. And it's easy to fold with 1 hand. I just ordered the mini GT a double for us again this year :)

I have to say y'all are making me glad my kids are grown and I don't have to deal with all that strollers and such now. Though I was probably a bad mom, our first family trip with my son was 4 going on 5, didn't bring a stroller, didn't rent one, nothing, and then only my daughter got one when she came along.

Looking forward to just having to lug the bare minimum around the parks.

If you all need quick snacks for the park to take, my SO uses Smooth Operator Squeeze Packs Peanut Butter, when he needs something quick. He had ulcer surgery a few years ago which took most of his stomach with it, so he has to eat every 2 hours, and very small meals. These work great if cant get to food, and they pack nicely.

I travel with pb and almond butter squeeze packs too. Great on an apple or banana. I usually buy the Justin's brand.

I rented from Kingdom Strollers last year for my 5 year old ds. Got the City Mini GT and that was one of the best things ever. I was a little sad to turn in back in because that stroller was awesome! He had been out of a stroller for a couple of years but he loved it and the shade kept the sun off of him. I've debated not renting one now that he is 6 but he is the baby and the laziest one and would love to ride. I also would like a place to put my park crap so we will probably rent again.

I love that you're quoting your posts to add to them! Makes me feel less silly for the same thing :rotfl:

Ditto on hauling the crap! It's nice to have a place to stash stuff besides my backpack!

Today was a good Disney day!

FP - check
Stroller rental - check
Grocery delivery - in progress, will complete after kids go to bed

Also ordered some cute shirts from old navy for the toddler. A black mickey one, and a white baseball tee with red sleeves - perfect to iron on a baymax face onto!

I so miss peanut butter - youngest has an allergy. :(

We waffled about the stroller for our 5-year-old - he's been out of one for a few years too and it is nice to travel lighter without it, but on the other hand the basket for stuff and CUP HOLDERS, holy crap do I miss cup holders when we don't have a stroller.

Still working on my FP list for tomorrow. Just wondering for Character Spot in Epcot FP who is that for exactly? I know we want to see Baymax and Joy & Sadness...would it be for them?

Unfortunately no, it's for Mickey et al. I wish Baymax and Joy&Sadness had a fast pass. :(
