Marathon Weekend 2017!

That's just what I was thinking!

I believe that next year's marathon medal will be a life-size, fully-articulated Mickey Mouse that you drape from your neck, complete with motion sensors that trigger 3 different phrases: "Way to go!", "You did it, pal", and "make that chiropractor appointment now".

Actually, I think the "medal" should be a Pal Mickey. Anyone else remember those?

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao: I still have a Pal Mickey! I should bring him to a race and see what happens...

That would be great if Mickey would react to each mile!
"Mile 2, pal! Just 24.2 to go!"
"Mile 5 was just swell! Keep it up!"
"Whoa! You're really slowing down here..."
"Do you want me to call an Uber?"
"I think I see the balloon ladies! Hand me off to that snail passing you."

As usual, the medals look better "in person."

I think the 5K medal and the marathon medal are fantastic! I still don't understand the 10K medal - maybe it's supposed to be scallops like there are on the lace of her "bloomers"?
I am also thinking that this is like her skirt - polka dots.

They usually have the exact date on the ribbon/lanyard.

Thanks. It is our 10 year wedding anniversary that day, so I was hoping the date would be there somewhere!

yeah, but don't trust the PINS that you buy --- lowest bid manufacturer doesn't always check the date:

Half Marathon was on April 17, 2016 .... not the 15th.

Geez. That is disappointing!

Posting here because it's such an active group with lots of runDisney experience! And because feedback can be relevant to marathon weekend, too. Just registered "last minute" for Disneyland Super Heroes Half. Running with my 17-year-old son. I always run in running clothes inspired by a certain character, but never an actual costume. He has and will run in costume, including head-to-toe Lumiere and a full length Elsa dress and wig before they changed the rules. But that's for 5Ks. For half marathons, he's run with a Sebastian the Crab hat but otherwise regular running clothes.

So the question: Option A is he's Captain America and I'm Wonder Woman. Likely to be comfortable, but not very creative and WW isn't Disney/Marvel. Then he suggested Option B: he's Edna Mode and I'm Mrs. Incredible. I love this idea, but not sure about the implementation. Edna Mode would be black tech shirt and shorts, with a wig and glasses. A wig and glasses for 13.1 - not sure.

@pixarmom inlive Edna Mode - such an underrated character.

The wig may be tough - what does he think? I'd just be concerned about getting overheated!

He initially thought the wig would be worth it because he loves Edna. But now I'm leaning toward encouraging the Captain America. Going to remind him of how warm he was running a half with a plush Sebastian hat at the PHM - like he would take it off at water stops and air it out. And I remember what a mess that Elsa wig was for the 5K last year. The finish line photos are hilarious - wig was entirely off center, blonde hair was flying everywhere, and he had pj pants under the Elsa dress that were very visible (it was that super cold 2015 marathon weekend 5K.)
