Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Hi everyone! Put me down for the BOG list for 10/7-10/14. I'm taking a girl's trip with my sister and bff. My sister hasn't been to Disney since she was pretty young so I am super excited to show her the fun at Disney as an adult! I got really lucky and found a great deal renting points for a preferred studio in the villas. My only trepidation is the creepy clown pool :scared1: We all keep teasing each other about the possibility of getting a room facing the pool and having the clown eyes glowing through the window. Hopefully we'll get a courtyard view but we'll have a blast no matter what. The location is what really sold me. Walking distance to Epcot during F&W? Yes please!

Coming to the BWI for a quick weekend trip 9/16-18! Going to the opening weekend of Food&Wine and hoping it won't be crazy pants.

Hey Everyone! We will be arriving to the BWV next month!:banana: We are currently booked in a 1 Bedroom Villa Standard View. I don't know if any of those rooms have a "possible" view of the ToT, but that's what I would love to have! So my question is, if their are rooms with that view, can you tell me what you requested to get that room or what room number was it? And if that view doesn't exist, what is a good standard view room request? Pictures always welcome! :-) Thanks!

We're back from an amazingly wonderful visit to BWI CL. It is by far our favorite resort on Disney property - there's just something about it that none of us can quite articulate, but it feels like home.

We checked in about 8:30am at the front desk. The CM was very nice and escorted us up to the 4th floor where we did our check in with Jackie. We've not been back to BWI CL in 3 years (we have DVC so we often are on the villas side) but we remembered Jackie and it was so so so nice to see her again :)

We were celebrating DS's 6th birthday and the experience exceeded our expectations. We were at YC CL in June and while it was very nice and we enjoyed Stormalong Bay, especially with unusually warm weather for early June, the BWI was far superior an experience for us. The CMs at BWI CL are the absolute best. We are extroverts (our kids are 9 and 6 and love interacting with the CMs) and we just really enjoyed chatting with the CMs in the lounge, telling them about our day etc. While all the CMs were out of this world, Jackie, Andrew, Anita and Linda went above and beyond for us. One day, we were surprised with a delivery of cupcakes to the room for DS's birthday :)

The food offerings were great, but the food is only a part of why we like CL. I really do love having breakfast readily available in the morning as I think it's a nice way to start our day without the stress of having to find a place before we go to the parks. CL for us is an experience - the lounge is a great place to hang out, chat with other guests (we met some really great people this time!), have some appetizers and a glass of wine. We love the service we get from the CMs and feel that it's the whole package, not just the food for us.

The exterior renovations are ongoing, but in no way impacted our good time.

The kids were really sad to leave and so were we - we'll be back for sure!

I hear booths are starting to go up around the World Showcase in preparation for F&W in two weeks.

:offtopic: I saw you post on a Cruise Critic thread about Palo. :) I'm sure there's only one Gometros! The DCL boards are pretty dead there. Enjoy your cruise! We'll be on the Magic out of NY in Oct. :boat:

Glad you had such a great trip! I know what you mean about the BW feeling like home!

So.....I finally took the expensive plunge. We've stayed club level many times and are clearly spoiled by it. Usually we're at the YC or BC but this time, we're going to try the CL/BWI. However, as we've walked the boardwalk many times, I've always looked up and commented on how nice it must be to have a room that overlooks the whole boardwalk. When I play around in mydisneyexperience, the CL Deluxe category is usually unavailable. My husbands 66th b-day is in January and somehow we seem to have made it a tradition to spend his birthdays at Disney.
Imagine my surprise yesterday to see that the CL Deluxe category was available! It's the only room category that indicates just a Boardwalk view so I said "hit the freakin' button". I read through all the great info provided here and it seems like there are only 10 rooms in that category, which explains the big price. I requested the 4th floor, seems there are 5 rooms on the 3rd and 5 on the 4th. Has anyone experienced these rooms?

Besides the lounge being on the 4th floor the only big difference is the balcony size. The deluxe rooms on the 3rd floor have bigger balconies. We have stayed in both. Honestly again this year we were not out there enough to wish we had a bigger one and we like being on the 4th floor. Enjoy your stay. The CMs are awesome!

Thank you! Hmmm...I'm a balcony nut...wonder if I should call back and request 3rd floor! The only reason I asked for the 4th floor was because it seemed like it would be easier to access the lounge on the 4th floor. Was it a huge pain in the butt to have to travel from the 3rd to the 4th to enjoy the lounge? I guess more to the point...how much smaller is the 4th floor balcony compared to the 3rd? I spend a huge amount of time outside.....

I don't think the balconies on the 4th are small, they are just smaller than the bigger ones on 3rd...if that makes sense. There is plenty of room on 4th to enjoy your coffee and the view. I think it is nice to be on the same floor as the lounge.
The boardwalk view is wonderful. Another plus of the deluxe rooms is the space. They are over 600 sq ft, and just lovely.
If it were me, I'd probably leave it as it is. We've always requested 4th and got 3rd a couple of times. There is a short back stairway you can use to go up to 4th.
Enjoy your stay! :goodvibes

Oh my gosh.... I'm so excited!! We leave for BWV in about 2 weeks... thinking about room requests. We are traveling with my parents and we each have 1 studio, garden/pool view. I'm thinking of trying for the NE facing rooms on an upper floor on the north building, overlooking the village green, hoping we can get adjacent or close studios in that area. I guess the question is, is there any outside construction going on on the village green side? Sounds like it's mostly by the pool areas now.

That's me. True they aren't as active, but I like them because you get a more objective view of DCL there. I love DIS, been here since 2000, but sometimes there's too much pixie dust

Can't wait for the member's cruise, it's getting so close. And to cruise out of your home port is such a treat. And to keep this on topic, no sooner do we get back than we head down for 10 glorious days at Coronado Springs and our home away from home, 12 days after disembarking.

Just received our construction warning Email for our nov. trip. Was kind of surprised when a BWI standard view room popped up on Orbitz but maybe the construction explains it. I'm thinking of changing resorts but nothing else good is showing for our dates. I guess I will keep looking. Would be find with a moderate but don't want a value.

Anyone there now on the Inn side that can let us know the state of the construction for the standard view rooms?

I really don't mind a little inconvenience but if we can't enjoy a some time on the balcony, or if there is a really big messy noisy construction zone near us I will be very disappointed.

Even within the Orbitz discount it's still pricy.

We just came back and there is on-going painting and power washing on the inn side. There were lots of workers and trucks around during the day. Not too noisy unless they were power washing. One thing was that the big truck with the lift was parked in the courtyard all night. Construction also at the pool during the day, putting up fencing I think.
