Are AP price increases on the horizon?

I agree changes are coming, but I think they're going to see how that (exorbinantly priced!) DCA pass sells at Costco. We have the SoCal Select passes and they don't expire until February. I'm not willing to fork over $2K+ for passes (1 premier and 2 deluxe) so if they get rid of the SoCal passes we'll probably just take a break. I'd rather spend that money on a multi-day trip to the resort than higher level passes.

there is a chance of no price hike since disney believes that all this construction makes people want to buy APs and tickets...

id guess it would hike after all these constructions...

I love your optimism.

But don't hold your breath on that one. :)

My Deluxe AP doesn't expire until November 20. My 40 day window won't be until mid October. Is there a way for me to lock in the price on my renewal now? I got caught last year with the price hike and cursed myself for not acting sooner.

Is it more advantageous to get a voucher now instead of getting the renewal discount? This is my first time with an AP so my first time renewing... And I live in AZ so no pass vouchers at the Disney Store, just multi day tickets.
Thanks

You could buy a voucher, but it's not a renewal, it's a new AP. You lose any renewal discount and if the terms of your AP change you're no longer grandfathered in. On the plus side, if you're not going to be there on November 20th then you can keep the voucher and use it later.

I actually anticipated an increase back in May. Bought my APs.....and of course it didn't happen. I suppose if they increase in price this fall, I'll be patting myself on the back. But when it comes to buying things at the wrong time, I'm usually top of the mountain.
I have a similar problem with videogames/videogame consoles. "Oh look, price drop! Let's get it!" Two weeks later a bigger, badder version is released.

Ach! We're going in mid-September & are going to get Deluxe AP's. Gotta do my research to see how I can buy with a DVC discount ahead of time. We buy an AP every few years & buy at a ticket booth.

There is no DVC discount on Deluxe APs. They offer the Signature for $20 off....yes, instead of $849, it is $829. Woo hoo....right??

My AP expired in June and I was planning on buying a new one when we go in November. However I've decided I'll purchase online on 8/31 when I get paid. I'd rather start paying on it now and lock in the lower price then wait the 2 months and get hit with an increase. So basically, yes I think an increase is coming and I'm guessing we'll see it in September.

Question for you guys - if I purchase an AP online, it won't actually start until I go into one of the parks for the first time using it right? If prices are going to go up, I want to get an AP again while it's still low but I won't be going to the parks until October for Halloween.

Correct.

Correct. This is my plan. Buy now, go in November.

Yeah - finally saw that! Went ahead & bought & we'll activate in 2 weeks. DVC perks seem less & less all the time.

How did you purchase them? Did you call Member Services? I can't figure out where to add the DVC discount??
I went on-line & purchased. Since there is no discount for DVC on Deluxe Annual Passes, it was the easiest way. I imagine calling Member Services would be the way to purchase one of the $20 discount passes.

Just gonna chime in on another way to work in a discount... I know people have discussed buying Disney gift cards at Target using the red card and getting 5% off. If you're a Sam's Club member, they sell $500 Disney gift cards for $474.98. We'll need 4 of those to buy the 5-day hoppers for our family of six. We'll save $100 and still have $20 left on one of the gift cards.

Update----so i called DVC member services who can't sell annual passes. They told me to call Disneyland ticketing....and they can't apply a DVC discount........

Currently furious. Yes, it was only $20....but how much is the annual pass going to go up prior to our trip in May? It's ridiculous that they couldn't (WON'T) help. Mad at Member Services and also mad at Disneyland ticketing. They directed me to buy at the turnstile. Bunch of bureaucratic minions.....And, I know it's not the fault of the people who answer the phone who make the rules; it's just more crappy management.

Is the number on this site the number you called? https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/discounts-perks-offers/ticket-tour/disneyland-pass/

It does say you can buy them at the ticket booths. I can understand trying to plan ahead before a price increase, but DVC's discount is on the current price, so if they're offering the discount at the ticket booth, that seems like the fairest way to do it.
