The truth about mouse ears.

Mouse Ears

Our family is planning our 1st Disney trip and I am curious about mouse ears. Do people actually wear them around the park or are they a waste? I'm ok with cheesy and getting into the spirit, but don't want to waste our money. Thanks.

I have a couple of pairs, and I wear them at least half of the days we are in the park. The ones I have were purchased on Etsy and are on a headband rather than a hat.

I enjoy wearing my ears!! DH and DS would NEVER wear ears, and my girls are part time wearers.

I am a 40 year old heterosexual man and love wearing the minnie headband! not all day but certainly a bunch. Its the only place you can do it and not get any weird looks. And the only place my wife will not be embarrassed by my behavior. :-)

Over the past 5 years I've bought 5 pairs. Currently, I still only own 2...the Xmas ones, and the Disneyland Diamond ones. I still kind of really want the big sparkaly pink ones, but we'll see what happens.

They add some fun, we usually wear them to MK, or if we're at Disneyland, and not at the other parks, it has the most magical feeling there, and they do make for some super cute pictures and interactions with characters, but they're definitely not necessary!

One pair of mine broke (they were clearly made for kids or something the headband was too tight and gave me constant headaches, my Mom tried to stretch them out over a bedpost to make them more comfortable and the band snapped...wahh), and I honestly think I must've given the other pairs away?

I am 25 years old and buy a new pair every single time i visit the park. It helps me feel the magic!

I've never owned a pair. I've looked at them but never purchased a pair.

I need a brim for the sun. And it doesn't matter what time of year it is.

But I think they are pretty cute.

I never wore ears until I found some Maleficent ones in 2014!! I love them and wore them that whole trip and our trip back in December 2015. So many people commented on them in 2015. two people offered to buy them from me. My kids have some ears and wear them sometimes for pictures or for a few hours, I don't make them, just they can if they want. It's fun.
Hopefully this link works, but these are the Maleficent ears I have. Bought them for about $16 or $20 at the time. LOVE them. http://www.bonanza.com/listings/dis...4G-GO00KxvWNTtdJJpy_lwuOcgHtMxm67lhoCahLw_wcB

I've never worn ears. I just have never been interested in them. They look fun and all.... but just not my thing. My daughter has only worn ears once- last year after getting a special pair for dancing in DS. I had them embroidered in DHS and she wore them the rest of the day. But she only wore them that one day bc it was our last day in the parks.

:earsgirl:I have 2 different sets of mouse ears, I love them! :earsboy:
I am an annual passholder, and I pretty much wear my mouse ears during every trip I take. They are great!

Over the years I've bought & worn many pairs of Disney made ears, they just add to the fun!

Lately I've been purchasing custom ears made by very creative individuals on Etsy. Some are simple, in themes not available in the parks. Others more elaborate & detailed.

I purchased my first minnie headband when i was 16. Still bring it on every single trip and have purchases others since. Wear one every day at the parks!

I've never needed them before but since there are so many first timers in our group now, ears are a must. We will likely only wear our ears one or two days but they do get to come home. I'm thinking of getting a case for each of the kids to display them in their rooms.

Our girls got ear hats but my son refused. He ended up getting a Mickey ball cap. This November when we go I really want everyone to get a pair just for some good, fun, pictures. But I really don't think my DH will want to wear a pair :(

I love Mickey ears, but wearing them can be a pain. I have 5 pairs of different kinds (3 are from Etsy shops) if it's to hot I won't wear them. I take them off during rides and if they feel to heavy.

I get a new pair of the ear hats every trip. I don't like the headband style so I get the other one and put the elastic string in my ponytail to hold it in my head. I wear the ears everyday of my trip…there was only one trip that I can remember where I felt weird wearing ears and I'm not sure why I felt off that trip. As an adult, I find I get great interactions with CM's and Characters when I wear ears.

From experiences, children tend to wear the ears. Women tend to wear the ear bands, while men usually wear disney baseball caps or no hat at all.
