***Official November 2016 Thread***

Please share what you've learned! We are taking a 4 year old and a 2 year old and it's the 2 year old I'm more worried about!

kaybee1476 covered lots of the important points! I really thought I was prepared last year, but it's more about how each individual kid will handle all of that stimulation. The biggest thing we didn't consider was how time my daughter would be in the stroller...and she HATED it. She didn't mind her stroller at home, but at Disney, she didn't want to sit in it. So we carried her a lot - I actually hurt my back that week!

Also, afternoon breaks/naps didn't work AT ALL, and my daughter was a consistent napper at that age (now, she totally skips naps on a regular basis!). We would rush out of the park after lunch, and she just wouldn't nap. We wanted to keep her early bedtime, so that meant we lost a lot of park time. I think if you're keeping early naptimes, then see if they will nap in the stroller. If you're planning on keeping them out later, afternoon breaks may work best.

My daughter's nighttime sleep was also pretty terrible, and she hadn't been waking at night beforehand. We even rented a full-size crib and brought her bedding from home. Didn't matter. She ended up in my bed almost every night. Not sure what we could have done to make this better, but just be aware that their sleep may be affected!

Be flexible. Really, totally, completely flexible. This was the hardest thing for me. I didn't want to lose those hard-earned ADR's and FP's, but we had to change our schedule several times, and there were other times when we should have but didn't. Our upcoming trip is longer, and we're planning on doing less - and since we were just there last year, there's less pressure to get as much done. I hope it will be much more enjoyable!

Thanks so much for all of this! The riding in the stroller issue is my exact concern! At home, she wants to be able to get in and out as much as big sister does...and once she's out she is not going back in without a fight! I'm actually really hoping we can do short naps in the stroller and keep more of a "normal" bedtime routine.

I am also full expecting babies in the bed (not their usual at home, so challenging the first few days), so I hope we can adjust!

And I totally hear you on the ADRs/FastPasses!!!! I'm trying to have a decent but not packed plan just so we keep the day going with some purpose--but I can TOTALLY see myself not wanting to give something up. We will be there for a week, so we will have multiple MK days!

Thanks again for all of your tips! Beyond helpful!

I introduced myself when I joined this thread on Sunday, but now that I've gone back and read all 45 pages, I thought I'd share a little more. We're a family of 4 from NC. This is our third trip to WDW (second Nov trip). Our kids and I will miss 4 days of school, but they're above grade level anyway so I'm not concerned. We have 5-day hoppers with water park and more option. We also have 4 passes for DHS from when we bought the Fantasmic Dining Package on our last trip but both F! shows were cancelled due to lightning. Staying at Grande Villas in a 2BR condo that we got for an amazing deal through our Traveler Plus membership with our Bluegreen timeshare. We didn't even have to use any points! Flying Allegiant from Charlotte/Concord to Sanford. I've been buying discounted Target cards from Raise and then using them to order Disney gift cards with my 5% off Red card discount. I have (hopefully) now saved close to the amount we'll spend on meals and gratuities in the parks, so all we'll have to pay for is our rental car, any meals outside of parks, and groceries. I also used gift cards for our MVMCP tickets. Here are our plans so far:

Fri (11/4): Arrive at resort around noon or after a quick lunch. Unpack, head to Disney Springs, play at Disney Quest, assuming it's still open then. (Our first time going there.) Early to bed!

Sat (11/5): 8am breakfast at Akershus, followed by Frozen ride and M&G. Ride a few things standby and head to DHS around 11am. Try to get in all of our favorite shows at DHS and use our FPs there. 5:15 Dinner at 50's Prime Time. Fantasmic! that night (hopefully no lightning this time!)

Sun (11/6): 8am breakfast at Crystal Palace. QS for any other meals unless we can get BOG dinner.

Mon (11/7): Rope drop at Epcot. Stay as long as our kids (and DH) can stand it. Breakfast in our condo, QS meal(s) in park. Hoping to see Boyz II Men there that evening.

Tues (11/8): Rope drop at AK. I have a lunch ADR at Tusker House but I'll likely cancel it unless we can turn it into a ROL package (I'm waiting like everyone else!)

Wed (11/9): Depends on what we get done at DHS on Sat. If no need to go back, we'll sleep late, play mini golf at Winter Summerland, and then swim the rest of the day. If we do want to go to DHS that day, we'll use our comp tickets from our last trip and rope drop so we can try to get my oldest into Jedi Training Academy. She's a new Star Wars fan!

Thurs (11/10): Rope drop at MK. 1pm lunch at BOG. Park closes at 7pm since it's a party night so hopefully we'll get a lot done with lower crowds. May hop to DHS in late afternoon if we don't go on Wed. Hoping to see SW fireworks if they're still running.

Fri (11/11): Sleep late. 10:25 brunch at 1900 Park Fare. Pack and maybe swim. Arrive at MK by 4pm for MVMCP. Hopefully we'll make it til close to midnight and end our trip with a bang!

Sat (11/12): 11:38am flight home

Thurs (11/10): Rope drop at MK. 1pm lunch at BOG. Park closes at 7pm since it's a party night so hopefully we'll get a lot done with lower crowds. May hop to DHS in late afternoon if we don't go on Wed. Hoping to see SW fireworks if they're still running.

We're planning on MK that day too! And a BOG lunch at 11:45am :)

I loved reading kaybee1476's plan, so I'm adding my own!

We're a group of 4 (myself, my mother, family friend, and my almost 3 year old daughter) traveling from VA via Jetblue. We're staying off-site at a rented condo in Windsor Hills, and excited for the extra space! (we all stayed in a Cars suite in AoA last year). Planning on touring from rope drop to mid-late afternoon and then relaxing in evenings (or 1-2 adults going out in evenings - we have hoppers), depending on how the toddler is doing that day! We're renting a car. Here's our preliminary plan!

November 9: Arrive at MCO at 1:30pm. Check-in at condo, grocery shopping, and settling in.

November 10: Magic Kingdom. Rope drop. BOG lunch.

November 11: Animal Kingdom. Rope drop. Tusker House lunch.

November 12: Day off (high crowds today!). I currently have a late breakfast reservation at O'Hana, but not sure if we'll keep it. My mom and I will probably go out this evening, but I'm not sure where yet! I'd love to go to Epcot, but it might be madness - the last Saturday of F&W!

November 13: Magic Kingdom. Rope drop. Plaza lunch. Currently have a dinner reservation at Cape May's, but undecided!

November 14: Epcot. Rope drop. Rides in Future World, then eating around the world as soon as WS opens (Kidcot for my daughter!). Hoping for an afternoon FEA fastpass on this day! Going to Contemporary in evening to see Wishes from afar.

November 15: Magic Kingdom. Rope drop. Liberty Tree Tavern lunch.

November 16: Departure day! Either Animal Kingdom or DHS. Early CS lunch in parks, then leave for MCO by 1pm (4:30pm flight).

So everyone's plans are coming together? I'm still all over the place with what to do but have a sort of idea.
Here goes what I have so far:

November 4: arrive late morning; ESPN complex for race registration pick ups; dinner possibly Chef Mickey's (can't decide but this is the one place DS6 has asked to eat at so will probably keep it)

November 5: 10K then kids races. Thinking possibly EPCOT that evening

November 6: Tusker House and Animal Kingdom day - not sure if we will stay there all day or hop somewhere or leave and come back for nighttime activities

November 7: MK a.m. for Family Magic Tour then who knows what! In-laws are supposed to arrive at some point this day so we will probably have to head back to the resort to pick them up and then head somewhere for the evening

November 8: MK for BBB and early dinner at CRT then hop somewhere for the evening

November 9: DH wants to 4 parks in 1 day for the fun of it! We do have a BOG dinner so will have to be at MK for that

November 10: Universal (I'm still having a hard time with this one lol but MIL wants to go and so DH thinks it will be fun to do something different)

November 11: O'Hana breakfast; Typhoon Lagoon; Mickey's Backyard BBQ

November 12: I have no clue! Have another BOG dinner that we are meeting up with friends to eat at but other than that I have no idea what we will do. I think it's going to be one of those whatever we feel like when we wake up days :)

November 13: Departure day with 11:00 a.m. flight

We've talked about going to MVMCP either the 7th or 8th but just can't decide yet. Normally right at 180 days I have everything set in stone but for some reason this year I just can't seem to narrow things down. I think the race and Universal and the water park are all throwing me off!

Hi All! Doing a short girls trip to Disney November 10-12 with mymom, and daughter (7)! I haven't been in almost 20 years! Lots more planning this time!

Wanted to get feedback from the regulars on the crowds at the MVMCP. We are going "Jersey Week", so I'm a little scared. My daughter LOVES meeting characters, and I thought the party would be great- but she has Autism, and I just found out the DAS is valid at these kind of events. Feeling a little worried, think the cast members will provide any courtesy?

Seeing as others have posted their itineraries, I thought I would post mine too! This will be DS's first visit and he will turn 3 while we are there. We took DD a few years ago right before she turned 3, so it's only fair to do the same for him!

Thursday November 3 - direct flight leaving at noon and arriving into MCO around 2:30! Checking in at AoA and staying in the Nemo suites. Hang around the resort then head to dinner at Chef Mickey's

Friday November 4 - Magic Kingdom! DD's first ride ever was Dumbo, so that's where we are going to head first thing with DS! Dinner that night at Liberty Tree Tavern (DH's favorite).

Saturday November 5 - Hollywood Studios. Can't wait for DD to ride Tower of Terror! Lunch at Hollywood and Vine that day. We ate there for lunch on DD's trip and I think that DS will enjoy it as well. He's a really good eater, so I'm going to take advantage of the buffets and the fact that he will eat for free! DD loves Sofia and she wasn't there last time so that will be fun for her!

Sunday November 6 - Animal Kingdom. Breakfast at Tusker House. Can't wait to go on the safari again and watch Festival of the Lion King. I love that show!!

Sunday November 7 - a break day. DH needs this. If it was up to me it would be a park every day! I made an appointment at BBB for DD at Disney Springs for that morning. Then we are going to the Yacht Club. DH and I got married 9 years ago at the gazebo there and want to show the kids where we got married! Then we are going to have lunch at Beaches and Cream. Back to AoA to go in the pool then we have dinner at 1900 Park Fare that night.

Monday November 8 - DS's birthday!!!!! :stitch: Breakfast at Ohana and then heading to Epcot! DS loves Nemo so I thought this would be a good park for him on his birthday. Then we will have dinner at Garden Grill that night.

Tuesday November 9 - Magic Kingdom. Right now I have a breakfast scheduled in the castle but I'm not 100% sure about keeping it. I'm already over our allotted table service credits, and this one would take up 2, so I'm not sure that I want to pay OOP for any meals.... still debating, but I'm glad that I have it. And I scored dinner at Be Our Guest for that night! yay! I'm going to give the Beast a big hug!

Wednesday November 10 - our last day :guilty: Back to Magic Kingdom. Breakfast at Crystal Palace (always the last day tradition). Getting DD's haircut at the barbershop. She has only had her hair cut twice, and both times have been there, so we are continuing on with the tradition! I had already booked our flight home, but just checked the Southwest site and they added a direct flight home, for cheaper, so I just changed us over. The flight leaves at 7:30pm. so we will get some good time in the park before having to get back for the ME.

All in all I'm happy with our plan, and am looking forward to (getting nervous for) making fastpass selections!

I'm sorry - I don't know anything about DAS - but I bet if you post in the Disabilities! sub-forum, I'm sure they would be able to help! http://www.disboards.com/forums/disabilities.20/

My daughter will be almost 3 for this trip - any tips? She was tough when we took her last year (at almost 2 years old), but she seems like she would have a lot more fun this time!

Checking in at AoA and staying in the Nemo suites.

We stayed at AoA last year (Cars suite) and it was wonderful! I bet your family will love it!

Wednesday November 10 - our last day :guilty: Back to Magic Kingdom.

November 10 is our first park day, also going to MK! :cloud9:

Happy b-day to your DS...it's my b day too!

We will be at Tusker House the same day :) ours is 845 am

My daughter will be almost 3 for this trip - any tips? She was tough when we took her last year (at almost 2 years old), but she seems like she would have a lot more fun this time!

DD had still been napping so we were hoping that she would just sleep in the stroller but she never did! No naps the whole week. I was sure it was going to lead to meltdowns, but we were pretty lucky with that. I just made sure to read her cues. She gets grumpy without food, so I made sure to get frequent snacks and stop often to meet characters. She loved doing that and getting autographs. We didn't try to cram a lot into our days. We stayed at the Polynesian and she loved playing in the little fountains there. It was actually all the little things that seemed to make her happy. Just running around the resort and getting away from all the noise and people for a bit was good. I was pleasantly surprised with how things went and how receptive she was to all the new things we did. I hope it's the same with DS!

Ours is at 8:30!!! I will yell out "Funfire240! Where are you?!?"

I'm not going to force naps like I tried to do last time - she isn't napping every day anymore anyway (which makes for a sad mama - naptime is mom time, lol). We're not taking her out at night anyway, so I think we'll have a lot of early bedtimes!

Agreed on the food - my daughter gets hangry quite easily! Lots of snacks! :)

Last time, she was not a fan of the characters (the furry ones anyway!), but I think she may do okay with the face characters now - she's starting to get into princesses, so we may try a couple meet and greets! I guess maybe I should think about an autograph book then...hmm...

For those with littles, are you planning on any cute disney-themed outfits? I'm not planning on dressing up my daughter in any all-out princess dresses (though, she is starting to get into princesses, so maybe that will change!), but I have already several cute outfits planned!

Baymax outfit - a red Baymax t-shirt from Etsy with a black, glitter skirt and a Baymax bow
Star Wars outfit - a black t-shirt with "The sass is strong with this one" on it (lol) plus jeans/shorts and a darth vadar bow
Minnie Mouse disneybound - a red dress with white polka dots (found on consignment!) plus a large headbow and yellow converse
Ariel outfit - Ariel t-shirt from Target with jeans/shorts and an ariel bow
AK outfit - tank top with minnie mouse outline in cheetah print with matching capri pants and headband
Maleficent outfit - "Rotten to the core" t-shirt with sparkly navy shorts and a maleficent bow

Once I discovered the insanely cute bows at Hot Topic, my bank account shrunk :p

Thursday November 3 - direct flight leaving at noon and arriving into MCO around 2:30! Checking in at AoA and staying in the Nemo suites. Hang around the resort then head to dinner at Chef Mickey's

What time is your dinner reservation? We land between 1:45-2pm and have a 5:30 at Raglan Road. Trying to decide if its too close and we should take the night easy!

I am LOVING reading everyones plans so I'm gonna hop on the band wagon! We will be taking our 2 girls (2 & 4) and our niece who will be 18 for an extra set of hands!! lol

Saturday 11/26--Arrive at MCO around 2:00pm. ME to Beach Club, Disney Springs for the evening. Dinner reservation at 5:30. Wondering if I should make this a little later or drop it so we can try and get to bed early.

Sunday 11/27--Epcot 8:00am breakfast at Akeshus. Hoping to get done early enough to standby FEA. I'm still planning on getting a FP for FEA too, but my older daughter is Frozen obsessed, so I know she'd be happy to ride twice! Meet Anna and Elsa. We will do some other Tier 2 FPs this day too, just not 100% which yet. Want to meet Baymax too!!

Monday 11/28--Animal Kingdom Plan on the Safari first thing. Play in the bone yard, catch the Nemo and Lion King shows. Lunch at Flame Tree BBQ

Tuesday 11/29--MK/MVMCP--Rope Drop MK, ride some rides, lunch at CP at 12:45, back to hotel to rest before MVMCP. Like I said, our girls will be 2 & 4, so I have no expectation of us making it until the end of the party. Actually considering having them wear their matching Christmas pajamas to the party so we can literally throw them in bed.
--the other option I was thinking for this day was to hang around our resort for the morning, take an afternoon nap, head to Epcot around 2 to eat a late lunch at
GG, then head to MVMCP--any thoughts on this would be awesome

Wednesday 11/30--Rest Day/light Epcot--Lunch at Via Napoli, maybe FP FEA if I can't get it for Monday. Play around Epcot with my niece and I (Soarin', snacking around the world) while husband has fun with kids at resort. Dinner date with just my husband and I at La Hacienda--with a good view to watch Illuminations *fingers crossed*

Thursday 12/1--HS--Rope Drop Great Movie Ride, plan on FP for Toy Story, Frozen Sing-a-Long. Dinner at H&V

Friday 12/2--MK--BBB at 8:20, lunch at CRT. Planning on this being our big "meet" day. Meeting Rapunzel, talking Mickey, Merida, etc

Saturday 12/3--MK--no solid plans for this day, but 100% want to end our trip at MK. Once we get our FPs done, I think this will be the day we do whatever we have left on our "wish list." Dinner at 'Ohana

Sunday 12/4--Departure Day (so sad!!)--breakfast at Cape May, head to airport

Our reservation is at 5:10. I figure since our flight is so short (leave at noon, land at 2:30) that we won't feel too tired or rushed and it won't be too bad to get to dinner. I think we will get to the resort around 3:30, check into our room then head to the bus stop.

DD and DS have a different Disney shirt for each day we are there. DD has lots of hair bows from Etsy (me too!) and I have a personalized shirt for DS's birthday. DD also has her Belle dress that she loves, which is one of the actual princess dresses, and then 2 other dresses she loves, one with Anna and Elsa on the front and one with Minnie. The bottom parts of them are tutus.

Your daughter's outfits sound cute! I wish I could start packing now!!!

Awww, I love tutu dresses! I wish my daughter would tolerate them - she hates the way they feel!
