Not sure if this has been asked or posted since I haven't looked at menus for CRT in awhile, but it seems like now the L & D menus are exactly the same, in that now for D you cant choose an appetizer, now you just get something shared for both L&D. THey are now both the same price as well. Has anyone tried the new "appetizer" at L or D?

Here's the new menu, I'm not a fan of no choice of an appetizer, it's just the "tasting plate" :sad2: For being a signature and what you pay OOP there, that's pretty cheap of you Disney!!

Ugh, that stinks. Hope this idea doesn't spread to all the other restaurants. Disney tends to start something at 1 place & next thing you know, they're doing it everywhere.

We almost always eat table service & do signatures probably 5 out of 7 days, paying OOP. We like things like salads or soup as appetizers. That appetizer plate wold have absolutely no appeal to us.

I agree, I have no interest in a tasting plate. What's sad about this is that here is a prime example of Disney charging loyal customers top dollar for something - and then shortchanging us. They know that Cindy's Castle is a hot commodity - they do this because they could get away with it. I would be less irritated if we were talking about 1 dining credit per person but for a signature it's not ok.

Wow that is NOT a 2-credit menu.

I don't think it ever has been, though. (I know they charge 2 credits but it's never BEEN a 2 credit meal...but then I can't even get Narcoosees to be equal to a 2 credit meal since we are lighter eaters and vegetarian, LOL.)

Taking away ordering an app will certainly speed up the meal and turn tables over more quickly. I can't imagine the tasting plate can be any worse than the scallop app I ordered when we ate there. I was served a single, fairly small scallop that did not taste good at all. This was my absolute worst meal of my trip in May, the food for dinner was just plain bad. I don't think this has ever been worth 2 credits based on the food. I took my son strictly for the experience, but would not go back after the last meal. Narcoosees on the other hand was by far the best meal of my trip.

Disney has been making this conversion to "All Day" dining for quite awhile. All of DHS sitdowns have been this way for a few years. Le Chefs in Epcot did it this spring

CRT is not a signature by any stretch of the imagination. You are paying for the best location in all of WDW, and you are paying to see the princesses IN the castle. Having an appetizer at all as part of the price fixe menu is also a bonus but that is certainly not the case on the DDP at most other places (dining packages notwithstanding). The price is a method of controlling demand vs. supply and not a reflection of elevated food.

We had lunch at CRT on 7/14. I enjoyed my lonely scallop appetizer, and my daughter enjoyed the grapes. I saw a lot of cheese and cold cuts appetizers throughout our stay. While it is a nice for a change, it's easily overdone. I prefer to be able to choose my appetizer.

I am interested to see if anyone has tried the new menu and what is included in the tasting plate. At lunch in December it was hummus, cheese, crackers, and a tiny salad (for lunch). WIth the price increase almost $15 for lunch per adult, I wonder what it could be? DH almost had a heart attach when we were charged $196 for 2 adults and 1 child. That's when I thought it seemed odd (higher price than anticipated) and looked at the menu and sure enough, L&D was now the same but without an appetizer. THought someone on here could report back about the new "appetizer".

Oh yea, but I Meant limiting the appetizer to a tasting plate, instead of offering different selections.

If the "tasting plate" is the same charcuterie plate they've had before, it's a very nicely done plate. I think there were 4 meats, 3 cheeses, some blackcurrants, a spicy mustard, sweet pickles, and bread.

We were there last week. The tasting plate included a piece of bleu cheese, a few cubes of cheddar cheese with a fig jam, some prociutto/salami/olives/pickles/pickled onions, toasted bread slices...similar to what is used in bruschetto, smoked salmon and a cream cheese type of spread.

So basically nothing in my family will eat. Awesome.... Ugh

Yep, they changed it then. The meats are the same but there was never any salmon, bleu cheese, cream cheese. They had other types of cheeses and untoasted french bread.
