I'd agree big time with this. It's almost a slap at comic fans. "Hey, we got a new ride for you Marvel guys (not really, it's an old ride that we thought we could turn into comic candy)." Did Universal turn an old attraction into Harry Potter Land? No, they gave it both barrels and produced something amazing. Slapping a Marvel name on an existing ride is something SixFlags or Paramount would do. Not Disney. At least, I hope.
Actually, at Universal Orlando, they totally took an old attraction and turned it into Harry Potter. Two, as a matter of fact. The area now known as Hogsmeade was once part of the Lost Continent. The Flight of the Hippogriff ride was originally called Flight of the Unicorn, and the Dragon Challenge coaster was once Dueling Dragons. Other than a bit of paint and re-theming on the queue, the rides are nearly identical. The entire area was re-themed and the Forbidden Journey ride added.
But I agree that ToT shouldn't be re-themed.
