Tower of Terror changes to GOTG themed attraction

I'd agree big time with this. It's almost a slap at comic fans. "Hey, we got a new ride for you Marvel guys (not really, it's an old ride that we thought we could turn into comic candy)." Did Universal turn an old attraction into Harry Potter Land? No, they gave it both barrels and produced something amazing. Slapping a Marvel name on an existing ride is something SixFlags or Paramount would do. Not Disney. At least, I hope.

Actually, at Universal Orlando, they totally took an old attraction and turned it into Harry Potter. Two, as a matter of fact. The area now known as Hogsmeade was once part of the Lost Continent. The Flight of the Hippogriff ride was originally called Flight of the Unicorn, and the Dragon Challenge coaster was once Dueling Dragons. Other than a bit of paint and re-theming on the queue, the rides are nearly identical. The entire area was re-themed and the Forbidden Journey ride added.

But I agree that ToT shouldn't be re-themed.

LOL! Six Flags just did this, with DC comics. At Discovery Kingdom they turned the old wood coaster into a hybrid. It's essentially new, and called the Joker. But right outside the ride was a spinning water gun ride. That ride was quickly redressed as a Mr. Penguin ride. It's just some new paint and a few props to make it fit the comic book theme of the nearby Joker and Superman rides.

Also, we went to Magic Mountain last month. Back where they have the Batman and Riddler rides they also rethemed a couple old rides to DC comic characters Flash and Wonder Woman. It's probably been that way for years, but when we went 7 years ago they did not have super hero themes.

Paramount has been out of the theme park business for over a decade. They did have several free-hanging roller coasters with the Top Gun name. Strangely enough, when Cedar Fair bought them out, they gave these all different names, and not all of them had a jet name.

Disney has slapped on names to attractions before, like Finding Nemo to the then shuttered submarine ride. Space Mountain now has a Star Wars theme. The Tarzan theme was applied to the old Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse.

You don't have to believe them if you don't want to.

All I'm saying is, when you report everything you hear as "what's is definitely going to happen" or "what the plan is", you're bound to be right some small portion of the time. Kind of shoots your credibility to hell though, at least for those who understand this.

I was there last weekend and I got a chuckle out of this sloppy work. It sure is no Disney park.

I understand but that's how I would describe someone like jim hill. Wdwmagic and even micechat are better than that.

I was never a member of either those sites and was never kicked off. And this whole rumor was fabricated just like all those other rumors as well. Nobody seriously knows what's going on inside Disney and nobody has any real connections. Also ToT is never changing at all and I'll be enjoying it not only this Halloween and Christmas time, but even in a decade. Nobody cares about GOTG and I will predict the sequel flops so bad that it not only kills the MCU, but nearly kills superhero movies and destroys Chris Pratt's entire career.

:lmao:I'm sorry for calling you out earlier. You're clearly doing this for show, and we were all too worked up to notice. I didn't realize it until this statement. Bravo.

30 hours until we can hopefully put this to bed. Doesn't seem like they're gong to lose their nerve quite yet.

I did notice that the 3 day Halloween spruce up of ToT was just canceled yesterday. Wonder why?

This is what I settled on when he said he was contacting Congress to have the internet censored!

I so don't want this rumor to be true (even though I now see the writing on the wall and I've come to an acceptance of it) but I can't wait to see the train wreck this post is going to become tomorrow when Congress has to get involved. So, at least I have one thing to look forward to after Comic-Con tomorrow...

This is gonna be fun!

I don't even know what else to say to your comments anymore I'm done.
All I have left to say to you is that you that this is a fabricated rumor and Tower of Terror is not going anywhere, there will be no announcement at comic con tomorrow or ever, ToT will be open during Halloweentime, Christmastime, and even in decades from now and that is a FACT.

It is not going to happen at all because it isn't true. There is no GOTG ever coming to DCA or Epcot EVER. All they will talk about tomorrow is the movie, what to expect from it, and nothing else. The Twilight Zone rights are also not expiring either.

I can start a rumor too... Instead of Season of the Force in November there will be a Marvel overlay in DCA. Bugs Land will be Ant-Man Land. The Frozen live show will have Elsa dressed as the Hulk, and she'll leap out and smash the audience. And to promote the newest movie, Black Panther will worth at Schmoozies.
Can we please make this happen???!!!!! :cool1:

Well now it is official. It sucks now but at least they did figure out a way to make it fit.
