I Can't, I'm Not Wearing a Princess Dress! - New TR link!!!!

Don't worry about getting the TR done ... we can all wait until the baby stuff calms down. Baby comes first, even if it means wasting time pacing in a hotel room until the baby comes.

I'm glad things are looking good, and I hope you continue to hear more good news. I'm definitely still praying for you guys!

So cute!

In the end though, the call of Disney World won out. We knew that only having 3 days at the parks would really rush us to get through all we wanted to do. I thought if we could go this afternoon and knock off some parades, fireworks and a few rides, that would give us more time and flexibility when we come back later in the week. I had brought some cash that I’d received as a Christmas gift from my Grandpa and while it didn’t cover the entire cost of the tickets, it covered enough of the cost to make my mind up for me

It is always great when you can stroll around MK without feeling rushed.

At about this time another boat came around the corner and stopped behind us. The skipper yelled at Cara and she yelled back that our boat was broke. The skipper behind us then told everyone on his boat to point and laugh. It was one of those “you had to be there” type of things, but it was funny. The back and forth between the 2 skippers really made the wait almost seem like an upgrade to the typical JC experience.

I love this! haha :rotfl2: I love the jungle cruise, the skippers really make the experience and this sounds hilarious! I was there for my birthday in sept and the skipper kept calling the ride "Anne's Birthday Cruise" it was awesome

On a side note, I ended up getting my butt stuck to the sidewalk by the end of the parade because there were tiny broken pieces of sucker everywhere that turned my shorts into a sticky mess.

Happens to me every time :rotfl:

Great shot of the castle!

I always seem to see something interesting happen with a scooter in the parks. This might just be the best of them.

She drove right off the curb about 5 feet shy of the cutout to the street.

There was some definite airtime!

The scooter landed hard leaning to the left and just kind of hung there. It was like it was in slow motion
:rotfl2: A scooter flying is not something you see everyday

Next update questions:

1. You’ve seen what we did on Monday. Can you guess how many steps I had?

2. What animal will photobomb and scare DD at Sea World? (25 points)

3. What was DD’s favorite part of Sea World? (25 points)

4. Something happened at Sea World that caused the sea lion show to be stopped. What was it? (25 points)

5. Tuesday was my big day at the conference with a meeting that could potentially be all day long. What time did I finally get finished up with my meeting and get back to the hotel? (10 points)

A) 4:00 B) 4:30 C) 5:00 D) 5:30 E) 6:00

6. Did I manage to stay awake for the entire meeting? (10 points)

1. 18,479
2. Dolphin
3. The playground
4. Something weather related rain/lightning/ thunder
5. B. 4:30
6. yes, but just barely :faint:

Just wanted to pop in to say that today has been a little bit stressful. We had an ultrasound and a doctor appointment, and we didn't know this until we got a phone call at 6pm yesterday, but we also were scheduled to meet with a neonatal doctor and a counselor to give us more information. And they dropped some bombs on us. Nothing bad, and things actually look about as good as they can at this stage for the baby, but we were told that they want us to "re-locate" to within 15 minutes of the hospital 2 weeks before the due date. This was the first mention we've had about this and it really caught us off guard. We know we're going to be there for a long time after delivery, but this was a bit of a surprise. We were really hoping to be logging time at work and relaxing at home rather than pacing in a hotel room for 2 weeks.

The time frame for that would basically be the first of June. I don't know if I can get the TR done by then but I'll try. I'm sure I'll have plenty of time while sitting around to pull out my phone and read the Dis, but I don't have a laptop that works worth a crap and replies on the phone are tough.

Anyway, just wanted to let you know we do appreciate the prayers and I hope everyone has a great weekend!

I am glad to hear that things look as good as they can for this stage. It stinks about the relocating, but i guess it is good to be safe than sorry. Continue prayer and good thoughts your way!

DW hates driving in unfamiliar places.

This is me. All the time. I always force Joe to drive while I navigate. Of course, I also force Joe to drive 90% of the time when we're at home too, so....that's not saying much

The floats are so huge that I think that there is really some benefit to being a little bit farther back to be able to take it all in. You can see from the pictures that it is really hard to fit everything into one shot when you’re so close.

I feel like I had to see it a couple of times before I could fully appreciate everything. I had the same issue with Soundsational in Disneyland as well.

The back and forth between the 2 skippers really made the wait almost seem like an upgrade to the typical JC experience.

I'm jealous! It seems like it was a lot of fun for a malfunction. But I'm also one of those weird Disney geeks who always wants to be evacuated from a ride.

Then I remembered, I’d been holding that spot for an hour… yeah, sorry…

Don't you hate when people assume that because you're an adult you shouldn't get the curb? DF and I have had our share of passive aggressive families, but I always stake my spot out early (sometimes to his annoyance) because I'm 5'2" on a good day, and I want a good spot. There's no seeing around people if I'm a row back. I've actually had other adults let me in front of them at other events once they realize how much shorter I am!

I’m one of the people who preferred Spectromagic, but DW loves MSEP so we always have to see it at least once.

Same here. On Joe's first trip we watched MSEP in Frontierland, and the music came on and Joe goes "This isn't bad, as long as the music changes at some point" Yeah, about that honey.............:lmao:

She drove right off the curb about 5 feet shy of the cutout to the street.

2. Seagull. Shifty little creatures that they are

3. Dolphin show? (Okay, that's mine, but it is really good!)

4. A storm?

6. Yes

That is stressful! Praying that all goes well and everyone stays healthy.

I'm sorry to hear that, Andy. I'm sure that's going to feel like it drags on forever. Just know that this too shall pass, and you'll be glad you did everything you could for the baby.

Did DD want to know where the princesses were?
Nah, she was still half asleep.

Funny story though, it wasn't actually a free breakfast. Well, it was for me and DW. But to allow DD to go in with us they made us buy a ticket for her. It was $30. We went ahead and did it and as we were being served, our server wasn't necessarily the happiest person in the world when we asked for milk for DD. When she came around to give us our plates she asked if DD needed a plate of if she would just eat off of ours. I told her for 30 bucks, she'd better be getting her own plate!

And yes, I appreciated the extra bacon.

That would've been interesting.
"We're in Florida. Right by Disney. We love Disney. I suppose we shouldn't go."
Well... we were going eventually.

That does sound like something I'd like.
::yes:: It was probably awesome. I don't know, because I was at Disney World.

<sigh> Yeah. Money. Sucks.
Money doesn't suck. The lack of it does.

Woot!
And not surprised.
Yeah, really not a big shock.

3 days is tough. Heck, 4 days is tough!
::yes:: Hell, a week isn't really enough!

 So you got a lot out of that session. Good thing you went.
::yes:: Just some keynote from a lady from Shark Tank talking about how great she is and how much money she's made in real estate. Yeah. Ok. Whatever. Hey! Look! We can get FP for Pirates!!!

Huh. Never thought of that.
I'd heard of others doing it or having problems with a day's admission being used instead of party tickets, etc which is what made me think to do it.

So... you wouldn't have magic bands? How does that work?
I thought everyone had to have those now.
Well, we had magic bands for our upcoming stay on property. For the afternoon admission tickets, we just had cards that are pretty much just like the old KTTW type tickets. They still worked like the Magic Bands (you'd hold it up to Mickey and he'd turn green) but it just was a card instead of a band.

"have to" oh the horror.
Ok, she had to drive... better?

Uh, huh. And it didn't help at all, right?
If it didn't help, I haven't heard the whole story.

I don't think that's acceptable either.
I'm with your DD on that one.
Me too, but I at least let it go a little bit easier.

Parades and popcorn. A match made in heaven.
::yes::

::yes:: That parade just makes you want to shoot all of it.
::yes::

I thought you might appreciate that one.

I don't know if it's the way she's posed or what, but Merida is looking a little aged there.
I kind of noticed when I posted it that it wasn't the best picture ever of Merida. :rotfl2:

Interesting observation. I was a bit farther back so hadn't thought of that.
The scale of these floats is just so impressive. It seems that they designed them so that you really can stand in the back and you don't need a front row spot to be able to take it in.

That always makes or breaks that ride.
::yes::

OMG. I was right! :faint:
Finally!

How many on the boat started their own nervous laughs?
:rotfl2::rotfl: Maybe a few! I think most were more nervous that we'd drift into the path of the elephant's spray while waiting.

That's great! It is like an upgrade!
::yes:: It definitely was!

Since you had even more fun than you expected, here's FP's for your trouble.
Exactly! I didn't feel like I was owed anything, but I'm sure if they wouldn't have done it there would be somebody screaming until they were red in the face about how they were traumatized by this ride breaking down and having to sit there for 5 extra minutes...

You did what?!?!?!?!?
There was a 3 year old with us... :rolleyes1

That sucker's a magnet for little ones.
::yes::

Cute shot of you guys.
Thanks!

You guys did pretty good.
Especially with a little one in tow.
::yes::

 That's brilliant! I'm smacking myself upside the head for not thinking of that!
It saves an extra walk down to the food court in the morning too. :rolleyes1

It's Belle's Gift Shop.
You're welcome.
Thanks!

I must admit, I'm disappointed.
Stick to the story.
You'll never find that sort of thing on my TR.
I know, I know...

That's a pretty darned rare thing in Disney.
For me, definitely! I'm always wanting to rush around and maximize my time. But in this case, having 3 days pretty much planned out helped. We knew what we wanted to do, could do and wouldn't have time to do. This extra evening just allowed us to enjoy some time in the park and it actually let us take what would have been an MK evening to do something we didn't think we'd be able to do.

Ah, well. That happens.
A lot.
::yes:: Especially with her... :faint:

:sad2: People. At least it was handled by a CM so you didn't have to.
::yes::

Ew. Sucker butt.
:faint:

:goodvibes You meet some nice people at Disney, don't you?
Just like anywhere else... you get the bad with the good.

Ah yes. The age old argument... I shall not touch this one with a ten foot pole.
Not feeling controversial?

Right on the sucker bits, right?
No, I think I'd pretty much cleaned the sidewalk by this point.

Good! Means you enjoyed it.
::yes::

What did she think of that?
She thought she wanted to lay down... :rolleyes1

::yes:: Same thing when you trip and fall.
Your first thought isn't "Am I hurt?" it's "Did anyone see me?"
Exactly!

I mean, what? I never trip and fall. :rolleyes1

Of course not. He's a dude. Therefore, oblivious.
Good point.

Did she see it?
Um... no. :sad2:

Whoops! Didn't quote this part.
1. 23,486
2. Killer whale
3. Dolphin show
4. Lightning?
5. Trying to throw us off? A) 4:00
6. Nope.
Got em!

::yes:: At least I assume it was. Clearly I didn't get to experience it!

yeah can't blame you. I'd have chosen the same thing.
I think most here would have.

what a great use of time at a buisness trip! LoL.
Hey, you do what you gotta do.

not a bad idea.
It seemed the safe bet.

ah well, you know what they say about hindsight.
Yeah, well, things were moving fast. I just wanted to get in MDE and get some FP!

That does seem like an interesting ride to break down on.
::yes:: It wasn't what I'd expect!

SO did you get the rest of the tour or did they just go into full evac mode when it got stuck?
No, actually we just sat on the boat waiting for help. The skipper that came out of the Asian temple area behind us and our skipper talked some trash and they eventually backed another boat out to us and tossed a line over. Once we were tied on, they just pulled us the rest of the way through the ride to the unload platform. Cara picked her mic up and got right back to the tour as usual when we were underway!

Huh, we saw a bit of that as well.
toddlers...

I felt bad. But at the same time I wasn't terribly upset. :rotfl:

Huh I guess I didn't notice how bad it was. I can't say I'm sure what song you're talking about.
I like you. So all I can say is:

DON'T GOOGLE IT!!!!

As a proper daddy would. Don't want any waste and all that. ::yes::
Exactly!

Joey!

the penguin ride? (I really don't know whats what at sea world these days.)

A thunder storm (It is florida its a safe guess)

Got em!

I couldn't agree more. The real reason to go to Disney is to enjoy it for yourself and make memories with the people you are with, not for the TR.:thumbsup2 That is why there are definitely some missing spots in my TR lol...
:thumbsup2

I'm going to guess that crane will be up there pretty quickly huh?:rotfl2:
Well, yes and no...

Ok, this isn't really isn't something I'm planning on writing in detail about anyway, so I might as well just say it. This was Monday night. We came back to MK Wednesday morning. The tree was gone, decorations were down and there was a construction wall on the backside of the castle that wasn't there on Monday. The crane was parked inside the construction walls, but we never had the crane with the boom fully extended photobombing the castle while we were there.

OK! When I saw this GIF I kind of freaked out because I am in love with this show.:hyper: Are you a HIMYM fan too?!
Loved it.

Except for maybe that last season... :sad2:

Both have their benefits and down sides. Next time you can try "my" spot and see how you like it.
When you wrote about that spot, I definitely made a mental note for future reference. I think that would be about perfect for this particular parade.

:duck:
I know people who were stuck on it so long the CM's turned off the music and put on waders to tow them out of the ride.
They wouldn't need the CM's in waders. I'd bail long before they could get to me!

That is awesome! Seriously though I noticed a major proliferation of scooters in February over my previous trips.
::yes:: There seem to be more all the time.

I don't have a problem with the scooters. I think the biggest problem is that there are so many rentals. There is so much walking that people who might be fine walking in day to day situations can't walk as much as you have to at Disney World and they rent scooters. And when they're renting a scooter, they aren't necessarily operating something that they know how to drive or are comfortable driving. This leads to funny stories and some less fortunate accidents.

And this isn't my only scooter story from this trip. But it is the best.

1. 17,031
2. Beluga
3. Pet Show
4. Thunderstorm
5. C - 5:00
6. No...because who wants to be awake for a meeting anyway.
Got em!

I like the lights. Those can stay.
The tree and other assorted shrubbery can go.
Ok, as long as the lights can stay. :rolleyes1

So how old are those lights exactly??
Um... well, here's the deal. I used to have a couple of spools of 100' long strings of lights that I would put up every year. But just about every year I'd have to replace one of the strings because there would be a short or something and I couldn't get half of the lights to light.

So I decided to replace them all about 3 or 4 years ago with LED lights on white wires (to match the white trim) so that I could just leave them up. I intentionally bought a bunch of boxes of 12' long strings on sale at the end of the season. The next year, I put them all up and now what I do on the day after Thanksgiving is plug them in and if I see a section that won't light, I get the ladder and take down that one 12' string and put up a new one. So some of them are a few years old, 2 of them were new this year! And I still don't have to fight the ladder the whole way around the house!

Now, I do put some lights up around our porch and in some lower places and those come down every year. The only ones that stay up are the high ones, which are a pain in the butt!

I want those valueless Andy points! #determined
Sometimes determination pays off. Other times, it can be a sign of mental illness.

I was never lucky enough (or perhaps wise enough) to try the Main Street bakery cinnamon roll's but I've made their recipe at home. Apparently there is one slight difference between Gaston's and Main Street and that is the use of Maple syrup in their frosting :confused3
Honestly, I don't know. There's so much sweet, who could tell?? I didn't really notice a maple taste to them, but either way, they're just really, really good!

And CR's twice in one quick trip?! :faint: You dog, do I envy you.
Ok, technically, just once. I bought them twice, but the second was for my first breakfast when I got back home.

Easing back into life in the real world with a Disney breakfast. :thumbsup2

Thanks for the update and will continue praying for you and your family!

Hope you and DW can try and have a relaxing weekend, given the information you were given today.

And no rush on the TR! We'll all be here :goodvibes
Thanks!

Of course the hotel stay will be stressful, but maybe think of it as a time for relieving stress in other areas?
No cooking or cleaning needed at least.
Glad to hear that things are looking "as good as they can", considering some of the alternatives.
Take care of yourself, your wife and your family. Don't worry about us, we'll be here.
Well, honestly, we've been looking for someplace to stay for a month or so if the "free" room from the hospital doesn't pan out. And one of the things we're looking for is a kitchen so we don't have to eat out all the time.

Honestly, I think we look at it as we are going to have to be away from home and our other 2 kids a lot. We aren't looking forward to that happening any sooner than necessary. DW is already worried about what she's going to do for 2 weeks, especially since each of our other 2 went past their due dates by at least a week!

Sounds like a smart plan.
I come up with one every once in a while.

I was wondering the same thing when we go in November. Do I use our Christmas Party tickets to enter and put the fast pass selections on the magic band? Anyone know?:confused3
I can't proclaim to know 100%, but part of it will depend if you're going to another park on your regular ticket or if you're planning to not use a park day and only go to the party. If you're only going to the party, then you could link the party ticket to your MDE account and make FP+ selections with it.

Honestly, my dummy account idea has me brainstorming now... You're not supposed to be able to book FP+ on the party ticket if you also book FP+ with your regular park ticket on the same day, but you could always create a dummy account just for your party tickets and book FP+ on your park ticket for that morning and then get FP+ in your dummy account on the party tickets for that evening! You'd just have to make sure to use your actual party ticket instead of your magic band.

It's not Disney until you get to ride the monorail. At least for my kids that's the case.
I tend to feel the same way. Thankfully I got that first ride in a few days ago!

I'm so excited to see this. I think your pictures are great, but I'll keep it in mind not to be too close. My DD watches this parade on you tube all the time. She's so excited to see it.
I'm sure she'll love it! It really is a very well done parade. I'm not typically a parade person, but I'd definitely make an effort to see it again.
:rotfl2:I'm sure it was the best a Jungle Cruise ride you ever had.
::yes::

I can relate to all of that. I actually experienced my dad having a tantrum in line at The Great Movie Ride about three years ago. It wasn't pretty.
It wasn't the worst. She didn't really have a total meltdown, but she didn't like whatever it was that I told her and she threw her sucker and started pouting.

Still not on the level of the major meltdown tantrum when DS was about 22 months and we rolled him out of DHS absolutely screaming in his stroller getting all kinds of looks as we walked by.

That was really nice of you. We once waited for the parade for an hour and had a front row spot and a woman with an ECV came up saying excuse me as the music started. Everyone let her through. She was really mad we wouldn't do the same. I had four kids and two strollers lined up for an hour to watch. She was really mad, but where could I possibly go?
:sad2: That's just frustrating.

Poor baby was exhausted. Think flying is the best.
It's pretty good. But the pyrotechnics are really the best!

1. 17,359
2. A seagull
3. The nets. (It was my kids' favorite)
4. Lightning
5. A) 4:00
6. Nope
Got em!

Just read your life update. I have you and your family in our prayers. I hope you continue to stay strong.
Thanks.

Hey Andy, it's good to hear that things are looking as good as they can for the baby. Don't worry about the TR, we aren't going anywhere. Sending my good thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
Thanks

Don't it always?
Typically. But I think you all get it!

::yes::

That's what conventions are for.
Well, yeah, I guess you're right!

I dunno. Maybe it should be called a "Genius Account".
I like it!

She's smart like her Papa.
Her mom would probably say the same about our common stubbornness.

Another SCORE!
::yes::

Good Lord! There's more scoring here than the OSU Women's BB Team.
Ok, I guess it's a little closer to UConn's team then.

What?? Too soon?

I wouldn't blame you if you did. I was stuck on it in 2011. Dreadful experience. Totally understand PTSD now.
Actually, that explains a lot... :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

Nothing short of perfection here.
One of my favorite snacks!

Of course you would. And so would I.
::yes::

Coulda been a worse sticky mess. Just sayin'.
True. She could have dumped our Sprite on me.

Ok, I wasn't really sorry!

Why do you get all the good stuff?
Good peripheral vision. I can walk past someone waving at me and never even notice it, but when I see sporadic movement out of the corner of my eye, I just notice it and have to look.

Oh gosh, don't even worry about your Trip Report! The dis will still be here waiting whenever you have more time.

I'll continue to keep you and your family in my prayers!
Thanks. I'm just more worried about the fact that if I don't get the TR done by then, I'm not sure I'll want to come back and try to pick it back up.

Thanks. And getting the TR done is more for me... I'm just not sure I'll be in much of a mood to try to resume things later.

::yes:: She was definitely happy.

It is always great when you can stroll around MK without feeling rushed.
::yes:: Although it is a rare feeling!

I love this! haha :rotfl2: I love the jungle cruise, the skippers really make the experience and this sounds hilarious! I was there for my birthday in sept and the skipper kept calling the ride "Anne's Birthday Cruise" it was awesome
That is awesome! Not many people can say that they've had a Disney World attraction named in their honor!

Happens to me every time :rotfl:
:sad2:

Great shot of the castle!
Thanks!

:rotfl2: A scooter flying is not something you see everyday
No it isn't. But let's be honest here, if I had one, I'd probably be trying to ramp it off of curbs. :rolleyes1

1. 18,479
2. Dolphin
3. The playground
4. Something weather related rain/lightning/ thunder
5. B. 4:30
6. yes, but just barely :faint:
Got em

I am glad to hear that things look as good as they can for this stage. It stinks about the relocating, but i guess it is good to be safe than sorry. Continue prayer and good thoughts your way!
Thanks!

This is me. All the time. I always force Joe to drive while I navigate. Of course, I also force Joe to drive 90% of the time when we're at home too, so....that's not saying much

Well the evacuation in this one is pretty simple... they backed an empty boat out to us, tossed us a line and pulled us through the rest of the ride up to the unload platform. So really, we got the full ride experience anyway.

But it was fun to see how well the skippers handled it and just rolled with it.

Don't you hate when people assume that because you're an adult you shouldn't get the curb? There's no seeing around people if I'm a row back. I've actually had other adults let me in front of them at other events once they realize how much shorter I am!
Well, I'm about 6'3" and that's part of why I almost considered just getting up. I wanted to make sure DD could see unobstructed which is why we got there so early, but I've always been fine with walking up at the last second and watching from the back. I was a little worried that maybe the other kids behind me wouldn't be able to see, but I think from their strollers they were high enough that they could.

Same here. On Joe's first trip we watched MSEP in Frontierland, and the music came on and Joe goes "This isn't bad, as long as the music changes at some point" Yeah, about that honey.............:lmao:
:rotfl2:

1. 8600

2. Seagull. Shifty little creatures that they are

3. Dolphin show? (Okay, that's mine, but it is really good!)

4. A storm?

5. B

6. Yes
Got em!

That is stressful! Praying that all goes well and everyone stays healthy.
Thank you!

I'm sorry to hear that, Andy. I'm sure that's going to feel like it drags on forever. Just know that this too shall pass, and you'll be glad you did everything you could for the baby.
Thanks!

:earseek: $30 for a 3 year old to eat BREAKFAST?!?!?! Was it served on gold lined plates?!? TS DINNER at at the GF for kids doesn't even cost that much! :faint: That would totally be a sorry kid but here's a yogurt and some snacks off my plate kinda moment. :rotfl2:

Hey, you do what you gotta do.
::yes::

:thumbsup2

toddlers...
::yes:::rolleyes2

I like you. So all I can say is:

DON'T GOOGLE IT!!!!
:rotfl2::rotfl: Too Late. And I do remember hearing it. It wasn't bad though. The "When Can we see you again?" part was more obnoxious.

I totally would have been fine with us holding her on our lap and letting her snack. But they wouldn't let anyone in, kids included, without a ticket. And pretty much the only way DW and I could go on our free tickets was if she went too. So we paid for it.

But clearly I wasn't happy about it and I was willing to be a little bit of an a hole. She might not necessarily use her chair or need a plate, but we paid for it, damnit!

:sad2: And she better start smiling if she wants a tip, too!

::yes:: It was probably awesome. I don't know, because I was at Disney World.

I feel so bad for you, missing it like that.

Money doesn't suck. The lack of it does.
\

Yeah, okay. That's a better way of saying it.

::yes:: Hell, a week isn't really enough!

And then you see people moving there...
Yeah.

For the afternoon admission tickets, we just had cards that are pretty much just like the old KTTW type tickets. They still worked like the Magic Bands (you'd hold it up to Mickey and he'd turn green) but it just was a card instead of a band.

Ah. I wondered how that worked.

If it didn't help, I haven't heard the whole story.

I thought you might appreciate that one.

::yes::

:rotfl2::rotfl: Maybe a few! I think most were more nervous that we'd drift into the path of the elephant's spray while waiting.

Then it's like Splash.

Exactly! I didn't feel like I was owed anything, but I'm sure if they wouldn't have done it there would be somebody screaming until they were red in the face about how they were traumatized by this ride breaking down and having to sit there for 5 extra minutes...

Ah... our wonderful entitled folks.

There was a 3 year old with us... :rolleyes1

I DON'T CARE!

It saves an extra walk down to the food court in the morning too. :rolleyes1

Yessss!

Just like anywhere else... you get the bad with the good.

I find people are genuinely more liable to talk to you at Disney... and be pleasant.

Not feeling controversial?

Not even a little bit.

Yay for some extra park time! It seems like y'all were able to get quite a bit done for getting to the park in the afternoon.

Sounds like a fun JC experience. I don't think I have ever read of anyone getting stuck on there before! It must not happen as often as other rides do.

We will wait for the TR! Your family & the baby are definitely more important! I know those 2 weeks will be super stressful as you wait for the arrival of your little one! We just recently spent close to 2 weeks at a Staybridge Suites, and I gotta say, although it sucked being away from home, I wasn't hating having someone make my bed, take out the trash, and give us fresh towels every day! lol Just trying to point out a bright spot in an otherwise not-so-fun situation. :)

I would have been demanding too.

That is a great system you have going on! I really wish we could do this, it takes us, well, mainly DH, a while to put them up. We use those old school glass white bulbs (think Main Street!) so they have to be unwrapped carefully and I slowly guide them up while he collects them on the roof. Quite a process but looks great at the end!

Sometimes determination pays off. Other times, it can be a sign of mental illness.

:flower1:

Ok, technically, just once. I bought them twice, but the second was for my first breakfast when I got back home.

Easing back into life in the real world with a Disney breakfast. :thumbsup2

:worship: Don't let this get to your head. You are incredibly smart.:worship:

I'll be back to comment on the update and get my guesses in, but I wanted to say that I hope everything goes well for your family. That's got to be a frustrating prospect to be hold up in a hotel close to the hospital. You're in my thoughts and hope everything goes as smoothly as possible.

In the end though, the call of Disney World won out.
Why am I not surprised? :goodvibes

I wanted to drive by Sea World since DW and DD would have to go there the next day.
How did they like Sea World? One of Izzy's daycare friends is going there this weekend (4 year old girl, 2 year old boy).

I was excited to see that even though it was Jan 11, MK still had its Christmas decorations up!!
That's great you were able to catch them!

She looked at all of us with a nervous laugh and said “Really, this isn’t part of the ride. The boat is broke.”
:rotfl: No wonder nobody guessed the ride breakdown. I'd never even considered that as a possibility.

That does sound really fun. :thumbsup2

When we got back to the dock, CM’s were handing out paper FP’s that were good for a select list of attractions in MK.
Did Cara finish the spiel while you were being towed or was that the end of it?

DW finally convinced her to go try, but her resistance to go to the potty would become a theme over the course of our week there.
:headache: Sounds familiar.

We really didn’t expect to accomplish a lot as far as rides go and I think we were pretty happy with what we had managed to get done.
I think you did a great job getting things done for a "bonus day".

I wanted to make sure we had plenty, so I got 2 orders of corn dog nuggets. And yes, I ate most of them myself.

And I’d do it again.
I don't blame you - those things are tasty!

On a side note, I ended up getting my butt stuck to the sidewalk by the end of the parade because there were tiny broken pieces of sucker everywhere that turned my shorts into a sticky mess.
That sounds awful. :crazy2:

Then I remembered, I’d been holding that spot for an hour… yeah, sorry…
And, besides, you were stuck to the sidewalk...

You know, we really didn’t expect to see the Christmas decorations at all. We were a little bummed out that we couldn’t go in December this year as we had done a few times in recent years. Being able to get this extra evening in the park was totally worthwhile just to be able to enjoy the Christmas decorations before they came down and see the castle all lit up.
Very cool that you got some holiday magic in during your visit! :goodvibes Best time of year there.

After Tink flew, DD asked to get in the stroller with her blanket and she was soon out.
Guess she was sprinkling sleepy dust on the kiddos!

There was some definite airtime!

The scooter landed hard leaning to the left and just kind of hung there. It was like it was in slow motion.
:rotfl2:

1. You’ve seen what we did on Monday. Can you guess how many steps I had?
12,990

2. What animal will photobomb and scare DD at Sea World? (25 points)
A squirrel

3. What was DD’s favorite part of Sea World? (25 points)
Probably not the restrooms. Um, some sort of ride? Wish I knew more to be able to be more specific.

4. Something happened at Sea World that caused the sea lion show to be stopped. What was it? (25 points)
Sea lion got sick and/or had to go potty. :rotfl:

5. Tuesday was my big day at the conference with a meeting that could potentially be all day long. What time did I finally get finished up with my meeting and get back to the hotel? (10 points)

A) 4:00 B) 4:30 C) 5:00 D) 5:30 E) 6:00
5:30pm

6. Did I manage to stay awake for the entire meeting? (10 points)
Nope

Wow, can't believe you just found that out. Good luck with everything, sounds like quite a challenge. Well, I'll at least make it easy on you by continuing to not post very quickly on my TR. :goodvibes

When she came around to give us our plates she asked if DD needed a plate of if she would just eat off of ours. I told her for 30 bucks, she'd better be getting her own plate!

I don't even understand the level of duh here. Did she say that with a serious face? LOL!

Her mom would probably say the same about our common stubbornness.

I can't even picture you as stubborn in any way, shape, or form.

Ok, I guess it's a little closer to UConn's team then.

What?? Too soon?

Shut up.

True. She could have dumped our Sprite on me.

OH yeah, that was pretty close to what I was thinking when I wrote that.:rolleyes2

Good peripheral vision. I can walk past someone waving at me and never even notice it, but when I see sporadic movement out of the corner of my eye, I just notice it and have to look.

Boo!!

Ah ok I see. Well I guess you lucked out then!:thumbsup2
::yes::

:sad2: And she better start smiling if she wants a tip, too!
It was a large banquet hall in a hotel. Tip was included.

And if it wasn't she didn't get one. :rolleyes1

I feel so bad for you, missing it like that.
Thanks... it was rough.

Yeah, okay. That's a better way of saying it.
::yes::

And then you see people moving there...
Yeah.
I wish I could afford it. But it just keeps getting farther and farther from reach...

Ah... our wonderful entitled folks.
At Disney World? Never!

I DON'T CARE!
But she did. And I don't have to listen to you whine. Just listen to your AC/DC and leave me alone, ok?

I find people are genuinely more liable to talk to you at Disney... and be pleasant.
That's definitely true. But some seem more liable to show you their other side too.

Yay for some extra park time! It seems like y'all were able to get quite a bit done for getting to the park in the afternoon.
We definitely did! It wasn't too crowded and with the use of FPs it was easy to get quite a bit done!

Sounds like a fun JC experience. I don't think I have ever read of anyone getting stuck on there before! It must not happen as often as other rides do.
I've never heard of that happening before either! But I guess a boat is like anything else... if it has a motor and moving parts it is going to tend to break down every once in a while.

Thanks. We're still trying to figure out what options we'll have up there. The hotels in the area aren't exactly ideal for what we'd like to find... they're either more expensive than we can really afford long term or they're so cheap they're scary. There's an Extended Stay America there, and while I've never stayed in one, we like the fact that we could have a kitchen and not have to eat out all the time. I'm a little concerned about a hotel room with a kitchen in it priced at just over $50/night though...

I would have been demanding too.
::yes::

That is a great system you have going on! I really wish we could do this, it takes us, well, mainly DH, a while to put them up. We use those old school glass white bulbs (think Main Street!) so they have to be unwrapped carefully and I slowly guide them up while he collects them on the roof. Those bulbs would look nice... but I'm all for the cheaper electric bill with the LEDs and they're easy to work with.

:worship: Don't let this get to your head. You are incredibly smart.:worship:
What did you say?

:worship: Don't let this get to your head. You are incredibly smart.:worship:
Really? I mean, I just want to be sure I'm not just seeing things...

:worship: Don't let this get to your head. You are incredibly smart.:worship:
I guess you really did say that, huh?

I'll be back to comment on the update and get my guesses in, but I wanted to say that I hope everything goes well for your family. That's got to be a frustrating prospect to be hold up in a hotel close to the hospital. You're in my thoughts and hope everything goes as smoothly as possible.
Thank you

Why am I not surprised? :goodvibes
Yeah, I mean this is a Disney fan site... :rolleyes1

How did they like Sea World? One of Izzy's daycare friends is going there this weekend (4 year old girl, 2 year old boy).
They had a good time. DW mentioned that she wouldn't mind going back if we ever had a chance.

That's great you were able to catch them!
::yes::

:rotfl: No wonder nobody guessed the ride breakdown. I'd never even considered that as a possibility.
It seemed about as unlikely as anything I could imagine!

That does sound really fun. :thumbsup2
It definitely was.

Did Cara finish the spiel while you were being towed or was that the end of it?
Oh yeah, once we were moving again, she picked up right where she left off!

:headache: Sounds familiar.
::yes::

I think you did a great job getting things done for a "bonus day".
Thanks! We thought it worked out great.

I don't blame you - those things are tasty!
Yes. Yes they are.

That sounds awful. :crazy2:
It was. I actually sat something down on the seat of my truck so that I wouldn't ruin it.

And, besides, you were stuck to the sidewalk...
Good point.

Very cool that you got some holiday magic in during your visit! :goodvibes Best time of year there.
::yes:: I love MK all decked out for the holidays.

Guess she was sprinkling sleepy dust on the kiddos!
Must be!

A squirrel

Got em!

Wow, can't believe you just found that out. Good luck with everything, sounds like quite a challenge. Well, I'll at least make it easy on you by continuing to not post very quickly on my TR. :goodvibes
Thanks. Yeah, I mean we knew we were looking at an extended stay after delivery, but neither of us was terribly happy about just hearing this 2 week prior thing all of a sudden.

I don't even understand the level of duh here. Did she say that with a serious face? LOL!
I couldn't see through my rolling eyes.

I can't even picture you as stubborn in any way, shape, or form.
You know, I have my moments... :rolleyes1

:rolleyes1 Look, my team made an early exit in both tournaments. Women lost a game they probably should have lost, men lost to Arkansas Little Rock after blowing an 11 point lead with less than 3 minutes left. A butt whooping by UConn is way more respectable than that.

OH yeah, that was pretty close to what I was thinking when I wrote that.:rolleyes2
:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Boo hoo!

Thanks... it was rough.

There, there. <manly pat on the back.>

I wish I could afford it. But it just keeps getting farther and farther from reach...

Really? Must have something to do with tectonic drift.

But she did. And I don't have to listen to you whine. Just listen to your AC/DC and leave me alone, ok?

Fine! <goes off. pouts. puts earbuds in. is soon head bobbing.>

That's definitely true. But some seem more liable to show you their other side too.

I haven't had the (dis)pleasure yet, luckily.
