Which retired attraction do you wish you could have ridden?

Am I the only one that just doesn't remember Horizons all that fondly? I really liked the end where you could pick the scenes but the rest was just kind of another dark ride and with Spaceship Earth, World of Motion and Horizons EPCOT was really full of a lot of the same style attractions. I really like Mission Space though so maybe that clouds my thoughts on it. I think a lot of the EPCOT replacements really have been bad but this one I don't mind.

I feel lucky that I got to experience just about everything people have mentioned in this thread. However I used to not be interested in dining but always wanted to go to the Empress Lily back when it included several restaurants. We never did though and of course that is long gone.

I think that might be it. I pretty much despise Mission Space so it was particularly galling to ride it after my favorite ride was taken away.

I vaguely remember the skyway and when I think about it, I miss it. I think I was 12 when I rode. Always loves the chair lift rides like that. Like a prior poster mentioned, I remember POP with the building built, but they stopped doing anything with the other decades. Just landscape with big gray structures sitting off in the distance. Mr Toad was a nice ride and I always look at his picture with Owl on the Pooh ride.

I'm curious, was 20,000 Leagues known for having long lines?

I don't remember but if there was one we wouldn't have waited in it. My father was quite a baby about waiting in lines. Needless to say that was his only Disney trip with us.

I think I rode everything that was at WDW that I wanted to, except the Mike Fink Keel Boats and the Swan Boats.

I really miss Dream Flight, Horizons, and Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

horizons, original figment, alien... but many of the rides mentioned in the thread i've ridden disneyland versions of them. no one should be sad about missing the canoes. it's widely regarded as the worst ride in disneyland with the cm guides occasionally shouting "you guys actually waited to do this, so paddle!". then you spend the rest of the day with stinky duck poo water on you because people can't seem to paddle without flinging it everywhere.

Horizons and the Adventurers Club. I always hear people saying how great they were. Wish I could have experienced them.

No you are not alone. To me Horizons was a good show, but as you said, not only did it have to many almost the same rides, but, Horizons didn't have the repeat-ability that some of the others did. Spaceship Earth had just the right amount of variety that it always had re-ride potential. For me it was anticipation of getting to the top and seeing the Earth from outer space. I always hoped that it would stop when we got to that spot. It never has, at least for me. World of Motion was another keeper. Imagination was good for the first few minutes then after that it could get pretty boring, but, that was enough to keep me coming back and napping after the beginning. After riding it many, many times, I recently watched a You Tube video of the ride and frankly did not remember any of it other then the flight with the Dreamfinder and Figment. That should tell you how impressed I was with the rest of it.

Funny my least favorite part of Horizons was the "pick a scene" part. It was always grainy and hard to see and really was unimpressive to me. Where the rest of it put you in a place... that, to me, just kicked you right out again with it's total lack of reality.

Interesting question. I've been going since 1978. I can't think of any attractions that I never got to experience. If there is anything that closed in those first 6-1/2 years before I got there, I'm not aware of it so I don't miss never having done it.

I don't remember what they were called but the first few years of Animal Kingdom they had a boat ride in the river. Granted it was not one of the most exciting Disney ride there ever was but it was one I never rode.

I've been going since the first summer of operation (1972), so I am completely boxed out of this thread. There isn't anything that has been retired that I never rode and almost no restaurant that we didn't try. And I am in the "not a Horizons fan" camp. When Epcot first opened, there was a whole lot of Space Shuttle stock footage used. Seems as if every pavilion featured some launch footage including Horizons. There wasn't anything wrong with Horizons, but there was just too much repetition in Epcot including at this pavilion.

For those looking for an experience that you might have missed, consider The Diamond Horseshoe when it offered live saloon style entertainment.

I liked Horizons, but I have to say that what I really miss more is World of Motion. You hardly ever hear anyone talking about that. It was a great attraction that I think had the record for the most audio-animatronics. It was also the only attraction ever worked on by legendary animator Ward Kimball.

The original Test Track was fun (the new one is lousy) but given the choice, I'd still rather have World of Motion back.

Flight To The Moon closed in 1975 and was repurposed as Mission To Mars. So you missed that one. But you didn't miss much. It was the worst attraction in WDW history...by a lot. This pretty much sums it up:

I am very lucky, in that my first trip to WDW was in 1979, so there is not much I haven't been on. The few I missed that I wish I got to experience were:

-The train at Fort Wilderness. My parents were never interested in visiting FW, so it was the one place we did not visit during our trips. I always wished I had gotten to ride that FW train.

-Adventurer's Club. I actually was in here once, but I only stayed for around 15-20 minutes & then left to head to another club. What a mistake. I really wish I explored this amazing place & experienced the full show.

-Playhouse Disney: Bear in the Big Blue House. This attraction came about when I was on "WDW hiatus" & I missed it. Now I have a 3 year old who watches Bear episodes on Youtube & loves it. I wish I could take her to this attraction.

-Tour (or stay!!) in the YOAMD suite in Cinderella's Castle!! I know its still there, but oh how I wish I had won that prize during our YOAMD trip!!!

I think I have seen & done pretty much everything else that has come & gone in WDW???
