Page 2 rescue...Grand groupies..where are you. ..lol....

Yes, sorry...Spinach dip was there! I just didn't get to try it. Too busy trying to drink the tzatziki sauce :) Hard boiled eggs were there as well.

Thanks for that info!!! Glad that yummy dip is still there...lol on the tzatziki sauce...it is pretty good!!!

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a wonderful weekend! princess:

I'm here...lol  And have some exciting news to report! I am FINALLY going to get to celebrate my birthday at my "happy place"! :jumping1: DH has said we can go in March, and we will be there on my birthday and very near his! party: The downside: we are not staying at the GF, but I do plan to be there on the day, eat at the GF Cafe and listen to the band and pianist in the lobby. Plus, be in the Magic Kingdom earlier that day!

Sorry that the pics are so cropped...only way I could post them...but for those who were wondering you can get a feel for what the different views offer...:flower1:

Thanks so much for the various room view pics! I've really searched hard for pictures like these! I think all the views look great, really, so I'm thinking to not request a specific view.....

Off the top of my head, I'm trying to remember if all 6 of those queen deluxes are close to lounge? I'm thinking of calling to see if there are any of those rooms left.

Another question. I'm staying in RPC, but if we're at the pool can we stop into SL to get a couple drinks? Or can we only go to RPC? With that secret elevator, it wouldn't be that bad going back and forth to RPC, but was wondering if SL might make more sense (if we're allowed to enter SL).

That's great news! Happy Birthday! Love GF Cafe, esp the shrimp & grits, yum. Where are you staying?

How is transportation lately at the Grand Floridian? We are planning to stay here this summer. We had a choice of Polynesian or Grand Floridian. We haven't stayed at either one yet. We chose Grand Floridian, but I have been reading that Polynesian's transportation to the parks is much better than GF. Any insight into this? We will have a five-year-old with us, so I'm wondering if it is that big of a difference. Thanks!
The advantage of Poly transportation is they are a short walk to TTC for Epcot monorail. At GF you take the monorail to TTC and transfer to Epcot monorail. Not a huge deal.

Happy birthday Grannieminnie -- Blue and I aren't far behind you....I'm rolling in Wednesday night at 830pm MCO, so arrival at the Grand s/b around 930. Hopefully, I can grab a quick bite to eat at either Narcoossees, Citricos or Mizner's Lounge.....any of them are fine by me!

I'm wondering the same thing. The RPC lounge isn't really convenient if we spend the afternoon at the pool. Does anyone know?

Hi, just stopping in to say I will be lurking here and asking questions from time to time. We go to WDW every few years and 2017 is our next trip. Staying 8 days, 9 nights. We always stay at Yacht or Beach Club, but I really want to stay in the Magic Kingdom area this time and Grand Floridian it is!!!

Our trip isn't until over Halloween of 2017 so just very preliminary planning for now - we are taking a long weekend to Dollywood and the Smokey Mountains this coming September and there just isn't a lot of planning to do.:rotfl:

We will book when the 2017 packages come out and play the discount game I guess, but we are prepared to go without one.

It's just the two of us big kids. I'm sure we will book whatever the standard view is, but from the pictures (and just visiting ), it doesn't look like there are any bad views.

Anyways, thanks for this thread!

Andrea:goodvibes

Can anyone tell me if the Easter Eggs will be on display the Sunday following Easter? I would love to catch them before they are taken away. Is there a number I could call. The hotel had nothing for me.

Oh, that shrimp and grits! I remember you and I commenting about that when DH and I first had it! Yummo!
We are staying at the Wilderness Lodge.
We love WL. Have you tried the Trails End breakfast buffet at FW? It's really good. Last August we took the monorail from Poly to MK, then the FW boat. We had quite the exploration after breakfast. Needed to walk it off! After we walked around the area and looked at the store, then the horse barn. Super nice CM took out one of the big horses for us to see. Then we took the lake trail over to WL. Always hope to see an armadillo but never do. Saw deer once. Walked around WL, got a drink at Roaring Forks. All that walking around in August is hot work! We then took the WL boat over to CR to look at the shops, and monorail back to Poly!

You have given me some good ideas, Sue! DH loves horses, and especially the big ones! He also likes BIG breakfasts! lol

Granny, have you ever done the trail ride at Ft. Wilderness? It is a bargain by Disney standards and you don't have to know how to ride - the horses can walk the trail with their eyes closed. The price is $46 per person and the ride is 45 minutes.

I know you can if you are staying in an outer building CL suite, not Sugarloaf suite though. This a great question, I'd email IPO and ask.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Where is a good place to watch Wishes from The Grand? We are in a garden view outer building room so I was hoping we could go to a good spot on our 1st night and catches Wishes before bedtime. :)

grannyminnie :cheer2: Great news!!!! No better place to celebrate than at the world!!! :cake: So happy for you!!

Very welcome! :goodvibes...As for access to SL while you are staying in RPC (while this was the case a while back..)..it has been our experience with the newer access via card or MB that it is no longer possible...After someone here had mentioned that it was...I did try on a more recent trip...and was not able to...

As I possted above mmm ..we did try not to long ago and our MBs did not give us SL access...

Sorry..I don't have the answer to this...although I do know that the display is so lovely...but I will gladly ask while we are at the GF and report back..:thumbsup2

Not sure if you saw..but I did give you a detailed answer about the view that you had asked about...its on the previous page tho...:confused3...as for fireworks viewing..there are two nice spots on the grounds...one is from the marina area...and while the music used to be piped in...I think in more recent years that has been pretty spotty....there is also viewing right from the boat dock...and if you stand back further... closer to the area of Narcoosees ..the music is piped into their deck for the enjoyment of the diners there..but can also be heard in that area that I just mentioned...

pas Loving your new ticker....:boat: glad to see that even though you have changed resorts that you are still haning here with your fellow grand groupies...

Hope that everyone is having a magical Monday...:wizard: ..GF gal who is packed and ready to go (unlike some other people..cough cough Tom..)...and vowing not to repack..yet again...
