FEBRUARY 2016 Car Rental Code/Rates Thread/Watch

How does everyone feel about purchasing the optional insurance? Do you do it or not and why or why not?

I don"t as My personal car ins. covers most of it. And I hate to pay for something when car pretty much sits while at Disney.

I'm renting from National post-cruise from the Car Care Center and I need a full size for 5 1/2 days. I was
holding a reservation using 5007125 EC Club and NDA2434CA $30 coupon for a grand total of $321.99.
I just made a new reservation changing the contract code to 5125601 Amex Family and it went
down to $266.45. I will be paying with my AMEX. Pays to keep checking.
The paper coupon is from the 2016 entertainment book and must be presented when picking up the car.

That's how I kind of feel. I know I also have protection through my VISA card. I guess I'd just hate to see my insurance go up if something were to happen. Thanks for your take on it.

Thanks for the heads up, seeing this I just did a straight search of Dollar and saved about $100, 2/9 10 pm (time of day she ems to matter) through 2/17 for base of $195, $23.99 extra day with fees to $266 total on a minivan.

Very pleased :)

2/10-2/18/16 Enterprise mini-van $277 (inclusive), no codes/coupons. Pretty happy with that, includes additional person (spouse).

My Alamo rate dropped from 381.76 to 295.89 for a full size renting out of Sanford. I used BJs code 7014696

My Alamo rental started out at $401 for a midsize car (1 week, February 26 - March 4). I eventually got it down to about $265 with no special codes, just Alamo Insider. Then I used the code someone suggested which got me $25 off. As I've mentioned before, I'm always a little scared to use codes I don't think I'm entitled to, i.e. the Brazil one. This $25 off seemed pretty safe and I thought, worse case, they charge me the $25. With that $25 off, I managed to snag a midsize SUV for $235. I just checked the other day, and now I can get the midsize SUV with ONLY my Alamo Insider for $200. Oddly enough, the midsize CAR is about $30 more. Go figure. At any rate, I'm thrilled to get the midsize SUV for $200 using only a code I feel I'm entitled to use. I'm a happy camper!

I see you're picking up at ccc. Did you crunch the numbers from picking up from mco? Using the 5007125 and coupon, there were some deals on SUV right now. If your using Disney shuttle from the port they can take you to the airport instead of the resort.

I'll look but we have an ECV that has to be transported from port to resort. I'll
check the difference.

OK, that might change everything then. Just saw the standard SUVs for a great price during your timeframe....under $200

Just got a great deal on full size at Avis by booking directly on the costco website - $169 all in 2/18-2/22. :)

On Jan 23rd, I booked an Avis mid size SUV through Costco for total of $158 from Feb 6-12. Previously I had a Hertz mid size SUV for $177 using an Entainment Book coupon.

Not looking great for that magical 24-48 hour period when prices go down for Feb dates. Just this morning I am getting promo emails from Hertz with expiration dates of 1/31/16.

I'm looking for Pick up in TPA 2/27 10am drop off MCO 3/9 12 noon............I only see very high prices, only 2 of us going so I don't really care what size car I get.............Like to find something in the $250 to $275 range. Why is everything so high!

I am looking to get my parents a small car and I can't find anything cheap. I even tried naming my own prices twice and I still can't get it below 300

Are there ever any daily coupon codes? I am looking for one for 2/29, just for the day. I'd like to use Alamo if possible.
