Disney Wonder - Galveston to San Jaun - January 20, 2017

Ahhhh :worried:. Both of them (deck 7 & 8)? I hope they leave them on the Wonder.
What did they put in its place?
My hubby asked if y' all know where your staying in San Juan yet.

I am not sure what went in its place. Sorry!

No, we don't know yet where we are staying in San Juan. We are headed to WDW and Vero Beach in May, so I'm planning that trip for now. When we get back then it's all about the cruise!!!!

Ohhh!
I'm trying to convince hubby to take a Disney World trip before the cruise. We usually do something Disney at least 1 time a year. And our cruise will be 14 months after or last cruise. That is to long for me.

Monday Bump!!!!
Happy Monday:tilt:!
We officially have 368 days until the cruise. We are almost to the one year mark :hourglass.
So much to do. So little time.:p

I was starting to think of names for our cruise. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know :chat:. As soon as we have a name, I can start drawing up a design for it. I will start posting ideas as soon as I have a small list.

Hi!
:welcome::welcome::welcome:
1st cruise, how exciting! :D
What ever questions you have, fire away. I love to talk Disney!:chat:
I will add you to the roll call, and the FE.
In order to share all of the information for the FE, you will need to get up to 10 posts, so that we can start PMing (or using the message feature). This is a simple task. Just post short little posts (like: hi! or please explain the FE; or, even a days till we sail) until the number in the bottom right hand corner of your name box is 10 (you are currently at 2).

Quick word of advice (or WARNING!!!).....Disney Cruising is addictive!::yes::

One quick question I am asking anyone wanting to join the FE. Beings that we all have to consider luggage for our return flight, what is your opinion of limiting the groups to 10 cabins per group, and trying to keep gifts small (easily pack-able) or consumable (like candy, snacks, or even small coloring books or games)?

Monday Bump!
Looking at flights to get an idea of who flies from San Juan, and how much to expect to pay.
We are planning on parking the car in extended stay parking at Houston Intercontinental, and getting a shuttle down to Galveston.
My husband found a shuttle for $25 from the airport to anywhere in Galveston. So, we are planning to check in to the Harbor House the morning before the cruise, and my son and I will stay down in Galveston exploring the Strand while my DH takes the car up to Houston, and catches the shuttle back.

Have a great week!

Is that hotel close to where we get the ship? What shuttle are you getting from the airport? TIA :)

Question about the FE, do you buy one item per person per room or one item per room?

The Harbor House is the closest hotel to the port. I will post a picture from our window the last time we stayed before sailing. It took us only 5 minutes to walk to the boat from the hotel. And you can see the boat in port from your hotel window.
Check out http://galvestonexpress.com/
for the shuttle.

Question about the FE, do you buy one item per person per room or one item per room?
The FE is a purely personal thing. We have exchanged gifts with participants on past cruises that have given gifts for the kids, and gifts for the adults. We have also had those that will give just a cabin gift. Personally, we like to give something for the kids, something for the adults, and then something for pirate night.
This time around, I am think (as for our family anyway) giving something consumable for the kiddo's (maybe candy treats, and a lap game that they can play on board and on the trip home), something that won't take up much room when packing for the adults, and then some fun pirate night goodies.
As for your family, the best answer is what works best for you. Keep in mind, delivery does take a little bit of time. If we limit each group to 10 cabins, that will take somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 minutes to deliver to all of the cabins. If you want to deliver more than 1 gift on more than 1 day, you will need to remember to schedule that time in.

I hope that answers your question.

We will be staying in Puerto Rico for a few nights after too. My Husband wants to stay in Farjardo for scuba diving. Is anyone familiar with the area?

I think ten cabins is a good amount for me first FE :) I am like you Tink. Obsessive vacation planner lol.

Do you recommend more than one night in Galveston? I have never been

Welcome!! I am from Houston so I will chime in with my 2 cents on Galveston. It's not the prettiest beach town. However there are a few cool things if you want to check them out! Moody Gardens is fun. And there is a new Pleasure Pier to look into as well.
