*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

Hello! We just booked our stay at the Boardwalk for December 3 - 10. How do you make your dining reservations in June when the MVMCP and CP dates aren't out yet? Are there certain days they always fall on? I'm hoping someone has come up with a strategy!

I know last year the CP dates were released in late June, at least for the CP dining packages, but the narrators were not announced at that time. MVMCP dates went on sale in March if I recall...just did a google search and found a website that had an article dated March 5, 2015 with the dates posted and it said tickets were already on sale at that time. (editing to add, disney world enthusiast was the website, no spaces)

Our ADR date falls on the day we fly home from our California vacation...I am NOT looking forward to that early morning wake up call, LOL!! We only have a few reservations we feel are must dos for this trip, but I don't want to risk missing out, so early to rise it is for me.

I'm a summer traveler, and this will be our first December visit, so any knowledge I have is based on exhaustive research and information gathering based on historical data, not firsthand experience, but we have members of this thread who have been-there-done-that, so hopefully they will chime in with some good tips :-):-)

Great Intel, thank you! I didn't realize these came out so early.
You're welcome! the only reason I know is because we'd considered going december 2015 briefly before deciding on 2016 instead, and I had been keeping an eye on things :-)

I hope they don't change it around this year!!

Hi Everyone! I just booked our first ever (since before we had kids) Disney trip. Hubby and I will be celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary at WDW this coming December. I am so excited.

We are checking into Villas Wilderness Lodge on the 11th for 5 nights.

Hello and welcome!!

What an awesome anniversary celebration!! I don't blame you for being excited, I'd be over the moon :):)

Hello everyone!!

A quick question...

Is everyone ok with me adding a trip list to the first post in the thread with user names/trip dates/resort?
I plan on updating the first post with a more official sounding welcome for new members of our thread, since we're all UNDER A YEAR AWAY from our trips (!!!!)
that way we can keep up with who is where and when for potential DisMeets :)

I'm cool with it. Have had a few DisMeets scheduled in the past. But have never been able to capitalize on them, due to either me or them having unforeseen events. But I'm not deterred. I'm always keen on trying to meet a fellow Dis-er.

Last year I was lucky enough to run into a fellow DISer who is also a photopass photographer on Main Street (seriously, it was just plain old luck!) and then one of my fellow July travelers was at the Wishes Dessert Party on the same night I was there. Otherwise, every other meet opportunity hasn't worked out, and it's sad, because there are a few people I consider my DIS "friends" that I would have loved to have met in person! Maybe we'll all have the opportunity this December :-):-)

I updated the first post in the thread with travel dates, etc...I put down the members who have dates or projected dates, but I may have missed someone. If you'd like to be added, removed, or have your info changed, just let me know!

Count me in!!!! My family and I are booked 12/7-12/11/16 at POP! This will be my 3rd time at Christmas-ish time and I cannot wait. My mom's 1st trip to Disney World. Can't wait to see it thru her eyes...

I will add you to the log on the first page.

How exciting to take your mom on her first WDW trip!!! That's going to be such a special moment. And you know what they say, third time's a charm! Maybe that'll mean some extra pixie dust :-):-)

Welcome to the thread, we're happy to have you!

Ok I'm jumping in this thread. We're planning our first ever trip to Orlando December 2-9, 2016. We haven't decided how many days we will spend at WDW and how many days doing other things. We have only been to Disneyland twice before, too, so all Disney things are pretty new to us. We will be coming from Vegas - crosscountry. Our son will be turning 7 that December so it's an early birthday trip. We may also have another younger son with us by then (we're in the adoption process now). Excited to see DisneyWorld!

Awe! Our son will turn 7 just 4 days after Christmas! We originally wanted to go to Disney for his birthday, but it's much more economical to do it the week before.

Any other crazies out there like me who pretty much have the trip already planned??
We're taking it easy this time since we're really there for all things holidays this go around, and it won't be our normal summer vacation trip.
Our focus will be on new stuff, meet and greets, and holiday experiences instead of the normal rope drop ride-a-thons (although, that will surely happen too!)

I REALLY want to make it to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party, but 2015's last date was 12/18, and that's our arrival date. I'm afraid the last party date this year will be the 16th, which is devastating to me. Just because we've never been there outside of summer months to take in a special party event. I mean, I use "devastating" in its hyperbolic form, because I will certainly be able to carry on living my life without it, LOL!

I thought that after the MVMCP was over, that the holiday oriented party events (parade and fireworks) continue through Christmas without the need for special ticket.

We're arriving on 12/19, and will depart on the 26th. This will be our second trip to Disney, but the first time at Christmas! Although we've not booked yet, we're planning to stay at Wilderness Lodge just because we've heard they have the best Christmas decorations. Feel free to add me to the list on the first post! I've been obsessively studying for the past 3 days, trying to plan our trip. My wife did all the planning for our first trip because I was finishing school, and hadn't been bitten by the Disney bug. Since that trip though, I've become a full-fledged addict!

I just booked our 12/6 - 12/14 trip last Friday. We are staying at the BWV and I can't wait to go. So excited! We usually stay at the Swan, so this will be our first official Disney hotel in a long time.
